New Incentives

OK, just got off the phone with our Guide (she called me from her cell on her day off!!!) The way she explained the Disney Visa AP Passes is you would still get the $8 per point incentive but would have a choice of either the AP's or the $6 per point. So if the APs are worth $800 but the $6 discount is worth $960, I'm sticking with the $6 discount. Also, with the Visa deal your down payment is increased to 15% from 10%.

Thanks. For me, it is definitely better to stick with the additional discount. Since I am adding on with more than 125 points (130), I am getting an extra $8 (for a total of $16.00 off so $96 per point) which equates to over $1000.00---much better than the AP's!

Wow, I'm soooo glad I didn't sign up as a founding member at VGC!!! As much as that sounded cool, I'd much rather save $$$. Now DH and I can add on.

But I have to say, I think the incentive for AKV isn't all that great. I think we paid $94/pt and received DPs on top of that. Of course, it's better than $112/pt now, but just not as good as it what 6 months ago.

Got through to our guide today. We changed to the $14 off PP from the $5 off PP/ developer points. Our first DVC contract at VGC for 160 points! Paperwork should be here Monday. I am doing a big time happy dance right now! I am also planning our future vacations for like the next 5 years. I am sure the next phase will be the addonitis I keep hearing so much about:lmao:!

Congratulations! :thumbsup2

I just got an email from my Disney Visa about the AP's. I am going to talk to my Guide about it tomorrow, when she calls me, I am totally going to ask if I can use both incentives even though I already know the answer, it can't hurt to try. LOL.

Definitely do let us know! Good luck!!

I've basically read this entire thread and I'm totally confused :lmao:

We are not currently dvc owners. What, if any, are the incentives for buying BLT? Are the incentives about $8 off and a cruise, 2 ap's, or $14 off pp only for adding on at VGC?

confused :confused3

We are new member buying at BLT. Our deal is we are buying 160 points and getting two incentives. We are getting $8 off just for buying and another $6 off for using a member refferal. If you want the AP you would just get the $8 off. We we not interested in the cruise so we didn't explore that option.

Hope this helps...

Don't you also get an $800 gift card with the VISA deal? That would make it a $1600 savings($800 AP and $800 gift card) vs. the $6 discount(960). Maybe I am missing something here.

I don't think they are still doing the $800 gift card. That was part of the old deal that expired the end of last month. If anyone knows differently let me know... I have my Guide on speed dial :)

According to my rep. the disney visa current promotion is $600 gift card OR 2 annual passes (not for every year). The $800 promotion ended last month.

hope this helps

OK....so the $600.00 or the 2 annual passes are in addition to these incentives (whichever one you choose) if you put the down payment on your Disney Visa??

So if I wanted to add on 3- 200 pt add ons at BLT, do I get 3 cruises? :)

Also is it a cruise for 4 people any mix of adults and children? And what category are the rooms?

A little confused on the downpayment on the Visa. I can put the downpayment on the Visa and then pay it off the next month, right? (This is how I've always bought my points. I pay with my Visa (earn rewards) and pay off the balance when due with my savings.) Am I missing something?

I don't think they are still doing the $800 gift card. That was part of the old deal that expired the end of last month. If anyone knows differently let me know... I have my Guide on speed dial :)

Okay, thank you. Then the VISA deal is no deal at all. I thought it was both after reading this earlier post:

OPTION 1: $8 off per point plus 3 day cruise category 8

OPTION 2: $14 ($8 discount, plus $6 discount since no cruise)

OPTION 3 (for Disney VISA purchase): $800 gift certificate plus two annual passes (at WDW or DL)

OPTION 4: $5 off plus matching developer points to be used by Oct. 3 (this incentive is expired, supposedly, but since I put in my request yesterday I can still get it)"

I am so confused by the Disney Visa incentive. From what I can understand (??) everyone gets the initial discount (for example, $8 off BLT). Then, you can choose ONE of the following 1) 2 AP if you pay with Disney Visa, 2) Cruise, OR 3) Additional discount off price (for example, you'd get additional $6 off BLT).
If this is correct, WHY would anyone buying 160 points or more choose the Disney Visa incentive? It doesn't seem to be a good deal AT ALL. You have to make a larger downpayment, 15% instead of the normal 10%. And, you get only 2 APs, which are worth around $800. Who would choose that instead of an additional $960 savings (for 160 BLT points) or the cruise? Maybe there is something we are not understanding? Has anyone gotten anything in writing clearing this up from a guide?

Okay I just bought an additional 170 points at BLT took the 16 dollar discount I asked about the Visa and was told that you could not stack discounts.

I was also told that 15% was the down payment with these offers.

Also there is no additional discount for increased point purchase's

Hope this helps!
