Look at it this way everyone....

A week from now this will all be over and we'll be going through travel bargain withdrawls. We will have probably been through 2 more new threads, 4,000 pots of coffee, our children will either have diaper rash or have figured out how to speed dial the pizza guy. Our DH's wont talk to us for weeks....at least until our trips start.

Then it will all be worth it.

Found this on another LMT thread on a different board for those questioning the whole tax aspect.


Thank you for your e-mail. In regards to the taxes: The value of hotel rooms purchased during the World For A Dollar campaign may be taxable as income. Individuals are solely responsible for the payment of all federal, state and local income or excise taxes on prize. Depending on the value of the rooms, you may be required to provide a social security number for 1099/income tax filing purposes. If required, LMT will send you the appropriate documentation for tax filing. In addition, you are responsible for all travel/transportation to and from hotel, meals, beverages, phone charges, incidentals, or other expenses or costs relating to the prize not expressly set forth above. You are not responsible for hotel taxes.

What you would be responsible for would be resort fees, parking fees anything that is not hotel taxes and that the hotel is charging outside of the room price.

As far as the number of rooms you can book it is only one per sweepstakes and one per household.

I did the speedbook and have two hotels showing up for PA on my dates. Is this the page that I just keep refreshing? Will it eventually say $1 for these rooms?

I certainly don't want to burst any bubbles, but just because a hotel shows up now doesn't necessarily mean it will show up during promo. When I did it last week the deluxes would should up before and after promo but only values would show up during promo for my dates. People have been able to book a deluxe for other dates so it is possible, just be prepared.
