New Hotel Ideas for WDW

Two extra 90s buildings at Pop Century.

I love immersive, over-the-top theming. AoA is my favorite non-DVC option for that reason.

A couple of ideas I think could be really fun:

• A Muppets-themed hotel (Bonus: MuppetVision 3D could be rebuilt here as part of a dining experience or something!)
• Wreck-it Ralph/Video game theme
• Fantasia

I would love the idea of a castle hotel or the tower of terror hotel. Anything over the top and heavily themed would be great.

Would love it, but I draw the line at the Matterhorn...to me that will ALWAYS be Disneyland.

Look at every resort around the monorail, they have either added or shifting cash rooms to DVC. DVC locks in attendance at least every three years and more importantly shifts (or shares) the maintenance to members. They can also always rent out for cash their DVC room inventory. They can promote high occupancy on the cash side since they have continued to reduce it and DVC is designed to be at 100% occupancy. The last resort was Coronado and it was designed for conventions and meetings.

Just make a Society of Explorers and Adventurers! Basically an Adventureland resort that is a cross between the Poly, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Pirates, and Jungle Cruise. Schweitzer Falls Pool... Named for the famous Dr. Pool.

It’s more than monorail. It’s all MK resorts Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge and the Fort Wilderness Camp Ground.

Yes. My guess is that’s gonna be made into a very, very, very luxurious hotel. Like nothing currently on WDW property. Let’s face the facts. WDW luxury hotels are not very luxurious and the theming really doesn’t allow for it. I foresee more of the Grand Floridian going DVC if they ever build a hotel there.

Love this. And for themed bar liek Trader Sam's they could just bring back a form of the Adventurer's Club.

I’d love to see a resort with an EPCOT theme, maybe zones inspired by the different World Showcase countries. Could be a fun way to extend the park experience.

There is a Four Season Resort & a Waldorf Astoria Resort on Disney Property... they just are not sold through the Disney booking system. I think part of it being Luxurious was keeping them out of the 'loop'.

But yeah I don't see Disney doing any more none DVC resorts. Nor do I see them planning much in the way of Gimmicky resorts that are based heavily on their IP. Now might see them do further transitions at the existing moderate resorts to add IP to help them sell.

Personally, I'm not in favor of continuing to add hotels and DVC towers without building a fifth gate, or at least seriously expanding the existing parks. Otherwise, we're just looking at bigger crowds and longer lines.

I would love for them to revisit the Disney’s Venetian/Mediterranean Resort idea that they planned, but faced roadblocks that scrapped them in the first place (the 1973 oil crisis and the swampy/poor Florida ground). Anyway, if either Josh D’Amaro, Alan Bergman, or Dana Walden become the new Disney CEO, I hope they stop building DVC resorts. It’s too much.
