Okay...I found the DIS site while researching and trying to decide whether to buy in to the DVC and now I'm here looking at all of this info about coupons and other ideas.

Can anyone give me a lesson the main things people do to save money at WDW? Looks like we will be buying at SSR and even if we wait, husband and I are empty nesters and able to travel more. Disney will be top of the list for us and any way we can save helps.

probably the best thing is just check out a bunch of threads that you think might help you...we have saved by using the connection vouchers( 1st thread on budget board) getting annual passes and rates ( which if you go dvc you won't use) and some info on ticket prices...some other good sites are www.allearsnet .com and www.mousesavers.com for basic info then look on the fourm here for practical use of that info! also the review section of this board is good to learn a little more about particular attractions, ect and the home page has links to that and hr. info ect.

I have to tell you. When I saw your first post on the DVC board it really made me look twice. My brother-in-law has a baby named Mckenzie-nickname Kenzie. And her grandmother is called MaMaw by Kenzie. But she is from Memphis and you are not her, right ?

Anywhoo, sounds like you are a DISer in the making. And between this board and the DVC board you will learn lots.

We own at VWL and usually go to WDW twice a year. We optimize points by not using them on the weekend (a GREAT way to save). We like to stay at another Disney resort on Fri and Sat or we stay at a Universal hotel and enjoy their parks.

We save through the year by not eating out, and shopping wisely. There are great people and great tips on this board, I have learned a lot and I thought I knew every money saving trick there was!

Best wishes with your DVC purchase. We bought 4 years ago and are still very glad we did.
