I just wanted to add that people who are looking at the Smith vs. Tote... The height of the tote doesn't bother me. It's the width that makes it seem so cumbersome. (Hopefully I'll get used to it!)

So if you're looking at a Smith because it's smaller (meaning you can fold the flap down), keep in mind it's still going to be huge because the width will be so big, an inch more than the tote.

I think it also has to do with the really long straps. I like a large bag, but with the strap length, the tote just feels enormous.

I am extremely irritated with UPS. And also a bit with Disney. Most of you got your bags last week. I have yet to get mine. I emails UPS and they said the "sender" (disney) didn't give the package to ups for 4 days. And now it's been sitting in Memphis for three.

Yes I have my iPad in a small thin case and it fits. Comes to the top but can zip easily w my big wallet.

Went by uptown Jewelers at MK today and LOTS of smith bags and wristlets but no totes, or cross body. I can just hear the collective gasp as you read the next line....hubby said go ahead and buy the smith bag and I said...wait for it....it just doesn't grab me !. I really looked at the bag but can see how it could flake, the black print doesn't look like it was put on very well. Inside is a pretty purple. Believe the price for smith bag was 368.00 before tax. You can get an AP or DVC discount with the Dooney's.

I wonder if some of it caused by the smith bag being sort of slouchy as it is broken in? Mine had some flaking from the get go. But after some use, the bag softened up and there was more flaking in those areas of the bag. And the top where it folds over.

I totally agree, I have the smith bag and I don't love it. It's luggage size huge and the quality is not good, i feel like its kind of cheap looking. If I had the chance to see it before I purchased I would have passed even after months of obsessing. Good for you for passing on it!

It does appear strange but I am certain that Disney.com is not the same business unit as Disney Parks. Where I work we have a couple of business units selling the same thing. If one if them, like our Ecommerce team, runs out of an item it takes a act of Congress to transfer or move those units from one BU the other.

Another factor for selling online is warehousing and logistics cost. The margins are higher selling at the parks and the handling cost is probably pennies. I am sure Disney has an analyst looking at margins daily on most of their priducts. Of course they will look to unload product where they can make the most money.

Ugh! Oh no, I'm not sure I like the size of my wristlet... And this is why not to buy unless you know what you are getting. I live the pattern however and my tote is perfect for a work bag! Don't need two of the same pattern I guess...

I think the exclusivity and the hype and the pattern and the 3:30am made me make up a use for it, but in real life I am having difficulty making it work. When you have no choice to ponder whether you should as they are gone in 2 hours, you pull the trigger and hope for the best... And go back to sleep! Now what to do...

Uuuuuugh, I picked up that white sweatshirt (in the lower left corner) like 100 times when we were at DL a few weeks ago, but I kept putting it back down. Now that we're home, I've decided that I simply must have that shirt and they're sold out online. waaaaah!
