New frozen attraction epcot opening date please

We were planning a May 2016 trip from australia 9 nights. Now thinking maybe not go if the new frozen attraction is opening then. Surely it will mean massive crowds at all the parks. or am I wrong ? do you experts have any advice on a opening date for frozen? and B am I right to avoid Disney when a new attraction is opening? Thinking may just go to disneyland instead.

I think you are wrong. Maybe a few people will make a trip to WDW just for the Frozen ride, but not many. However, many (all?) people who are going to WDW will want to ride it, so the queues for it will (I am guessing) be crazy-long. Silver lining: the queues for the other Epcot attractions, and maybe even the attractions at the other parks, may be a bit shorter.

And nobody knows yet when it will open.

I concur. The new ride will not bring in hoards of people who were not already planning trips to Disney.
It will however, be the hot ticket FP and have stand by lines that are out of the world long.
But all in all it's opening will not impact any other part of your trip.
And while no one knows the opening date yet I'm pretty sure May 2016 is way too early. I think it's fall of 2016 for now

If anything, assuming you don't really care about the Frozen ride, it will siphon people AWAY from the other parks and attractions a little bit. It'd probably be great!

sounds good maybe we panicked a bit the May 1st trip is back on many thanks to all replies. As stated it may open later anyway. As we say in Aus Cheers !

the unofficial opening date is may 1st 2016 according to an article about frozen ever after about 2 weeks ago.

one new attraction is not going to make all of disney world mobbed.

disney world did not become mobbed when 7DMT opened.
disney world did not even become mobbed when new fantasyland opened and thats was much more than one attraction.

Good deal. We were at Disney when that came out and I never did go back and read it. It would be great if it's in May.
My personal opinion is that's generous and it won't be May but I hope it is. Our AP's will still be good (undecided on renewing)
