New Free Dining with AAA

You can book it through AAA (and get the little extras). You wont get the AAA discount though. We did this and saved 400 on our package!

Did you save the $400 over the Disney price or just $400 because of the free dining?

It was just because of the dining.

Little extras: Planet Hollywood vouchers. One for free souvenier, one for one person in your party to get a free meal. Storytelling experience only for those who book through AAA. AAA diamond discount card...discounts around the resort. AAA up front parking - you get to park close to the front of the parking lots.

We booked through AAA and the price was the same as what I was quoted via the Disney website. They're not offering the AAA discount on this package because the free dining discount. I booked it through AAA anyway because their travel ins is a little cheaper (but better protection) and you get the little extras (like a voucher for the AAA lounge in the Magic Kingdom - free sodas, a place to rest, a quiet bathroom, and some nice cool A/C!!).

Actually as of March 31st the AAA lounge closed for good.

Up front parking??? Do you have to book through AAA to get this? Is there a voucher, or do you just show your card to someone in the lot? :confused3

Yes - AAA gives out little parking vouchers for parking in a special section that is deemed closer. Yes, you have to book the package through AAA in order to get them. I have never personally used them (I actually gave mine away to a fellow DISer) since we use the onsite transportation.

We're AAA members but have never booked our Disney vacations through them. We have, however, always gotton the Diamond Parking Voucher just by stopping by the AAA office and requesting one for our trip. No problems, ever.

I tried getting the voucher through the office once and they refused since I purchased the entire trip through Disney. The only time I got the voucher was when I purchased park hoppers from them or booked a trip through them. Interesting.

Really? I thought it was just with AAA.

do you mean your local AAA branch?

Yes, our local branch. We just stopped in and told them we we going to Disney and wondered if we could get the Diamond parking pass. They've always handed it right over, along with maps of Orlando and area attraction information.

:thumbsup2

As far as I understand it, it's a perk for booking MYW package, whether it's AAA or through Disney. If I just booked a room, no tickets, I wouldn't have gotten it. :teeth:
Here's what was on the WDW site:

I just booked a package through Disney and I received the free dining, The voucher for Planet Hollywood, but it does not state anything about the photo pass certificate. I did look on the website and it does state that you are supposed to get this. I guess I will have to call and find out about the photo pass certificate.

thanks
