New free dining offer yeaaah

Just saw a posting by a travel agent on Facebook that said:

Rumor is now saying the Disney World Free Dining that is opening tomorrow will be extended into 2012 as well:

Jan 8, 2012 - Jan 14, 2012
Jan 22, 2012 - Feb 4, 2012
Feb 12, 2012 - Feb 18, 2012
......March 4, 2012 - March 10, 2012
March 25, 2012 - March 31, 2012
August 19, 2012 - September 29, 2012

I was hoping that May would be included in those dates as well. Guess I'll know for sure tomorrow.

Hi all! I have been lurking on this post and decided to try my luck on the phone tonight. I was able to get free dining- quick service at Pop from 11/3-11/15. The guy on the phone laughed and asked which site we got the code from and that it was an old code from 2007. He gave me a new code D3X. He said it wasn't supposed to be out until tomorrow. Just passing along the info. Good luck everyone!!!

I just got off the phone with Disney. I called to make a payment. After making the payment, I asked the CM if she heard anything about free dining for my trip on 12/11-12/17. She told me that free dining came out today. She said she didn't even know it was coming out today until someone called to book their trip and she saw it is now available. I never would have known to ask if it would not have been for this Thread. Thanks Danny!

Are you guys annual pass holders or cast members? I am on the phone with a very helpful cast member right now. He said that there was a current free dining offer for annual passholders and cast members available for my travel dates.

I told him sadly that I am not any of those. Just a normal traveller...

I called and the woman made me feel worse! We have a Treehouse Villa, and the woman said she's "never seen a promotion available for a Treehouse." AAHH!! Anyone have any insight? Please tell me she just didn't know what she was talking about. <insert begging smiley>

I'm sorry to say I don't think you'll get fd for the Treehouse Villas - my daughter and I are both DVC owners and these usually book up very quickly. She always books them at the 11 month window just to be sure she gets one. But I'm wishing lots of pixie dust for you - hope the cm and I are wrong!!!!

I was able to add it my my trip. I already had my trip booked with a pin for a discount off the room, but the savings was better with free dining. I don't know the code - I could hear say the numbers when she changed my trip, but I did not pay attention. I was just happy to get the free dining.

You did not get a general public free dining discount. There must have been a FD code attached to your name for those dates. As of this moment, right not, there is NOT a general public free dining code for those dates.

OMG MY HEART IS PUMPING so if we arrive on FEB 2nd, and the above info is correct, can I get free dining from the 2nd to the 10th?

(and wonder why the 4th to the 12th is blocked out. crap. i thought that was a slow week. )

Nope not a passholder or a cast member. The CM I talked to said the code was starting tomorrow but he was able to apply it to my reservation tonight. And gave me the new three letter code.

Anyone know if the trip is already paid in full and they CAN and WILL apply the free dining, do they just refund the difference?

I just hung up.... CM said no free dining and never has been offered in Dec. I just said well I have had free dining at least 2 times in December. He said too ealry for Dec. and to check back in Sept. Don't think I will put a lot of faith in him LOL!!!!

OMG, this thread was crazy today!! It took me forever to get through it all.

First, Danny, I was one of the ones that did say Thanks, I was dancing with you this has given may of us a lot of hope and it sure has given us a lot to talk about

So I'm a little confused, on one hand people say you don't need to be on the phone at 7am because the dis is such a small percentage of the people planning trips that we don't make a dent but others are saying the phone lines will be so busy that you can be on hold for an hour? Ingognito said sometimes a hotel/room cat. could be booked but later open. So when I call if my room type/hotel is full should I switch or should I just try back later hmmmm, the closer it gets to tomorrow the more confused I make myself

Anyone else worried that they will call first thing in the morning and get a CM that has no idea what we are talking about? Only to have to try again with another one??

No- the CM who helped me said that the FCX was an old passholder code from 2007. He looked around in the computer and said "I found the one your looking for it is D3X and it starts tomorrow. But let me see if I can get it for you." and he did!

I don't want to say Danny is wrong, that is just what the CM told me.

Just got off the phone with Disney. D3X will be the general public code for FD at value resorts and is working if you can talk the cast member into entering it into your reservation. The CM I talked to did not know about the code but was willing to try it. It worked for a value resort, but not a mod. Unfortunately, he did not know the code for mods so he could not try it. He was very helpful and thanked me for giving him the code.

One thing I was able to confirm during my phone call is that it looks like FD will be offered during my travel dates 10/7-10/15! If this holds true, it looks like danny25 is correct about FD running until 10/08.
