New FP+ systems help with busy times?

Since we are going to have to go during the summer (2016), I'm wondering if the new FP+ system helps touring with super busy crowds? I've only ever gone in Sept and Oct before...Thanks!

It helps at all times of year, more so during the busy times because lines are longer.
