New Fireworks Practice Run tonight!

Kelly & I went last night, but Tink & Dumbo didn't fly. So, we went again tonight, and this time we saw them fly. We both loved this fireworks show. It is called Magical, and celebrates the magic of a wish, a mothers love, a kiss, etc. It was really good. I don't have the best camera, but here are some pics I took. Kelly video'd the whole thing & we'll upload that, too (even though it's already on youtube. :) ) We saw it from the curb in front of the Partners Statue.

Thanks for posting your wonderful photos of the Summer fireworks at Disneyland. I saw a video of this the other day, and I just can't get enough of Dumbo flying. I think it is wonderful.

Kelly uploaded the 2nd half of the fireworks. Here it is for those who want to watch it. She'll upload the first part later.

yeah, our schedule says no fireworks until thurs. :\
the schedules would say that..the fireworks aren't announced at all at Disneyland until 5 mins before they start..they aren't offical yet..both times I saw the fireworks they was something different or something missing

yup yup..uploading it now...5 hours to go >_>

Thought I'd put in my two cents regarding the new fireworks show... I thought it was GREAT!!!! We saw it This past Friday and yesterday (Saturday, Dumbo n Tinker Bell didn't come down on Friday).

We sat on the right hand side of the Castle Friday night and had a great view of the fireworks. Saturday we sat back by Its a Small World, oh and they still project animations on it as well. We kept getting different answers from CM's about that question. Dumbo looked so awesome Saturday night.

DLGF thought the show really gave the 'Disney' feeling. Since they use the music from a lot of their movies. Next weekend we plan on seeing the show by Pirates and then I front of the castle. Though our favorite viewing angle will always be Its a Small World.

I'm glad they'll be showing "Remember.." again this fall cause I really like that show. I'm sad to miss the Summer ones though

We saw the show last night and I have to say that I felt like a little kid when Dumbo flew across the sky. I made the choice not to watch any videos posted on line so in-person would be the first time seeing it - and it was just adorable. The way he flew across the sky was different than how Tink flies. I can't describe it exactly, but it visually appeared to be a different motion, almost floating. It was very cute and I became a little kid again.

I think I am still partial to RDCT as I just love that show, but Magical was cool and Dumbo was very special! One of the friends I was with said she thought Magical! was better than RDCT, so I think it's a matter of preference.

Either way, can't wait to see Dumbo again!

I loved the way Dumbo came out..he's in the second vid I took of the fireworks..I'm sad I had to cut the vid into 2 parts for youtube -.- but oh wells..I got teary eyed when I saw Dumbo come down..he was adorable..oh!..some fun facts I found out about the fireworks when watching a video about Summer Nightasic is that they're split into 5 sections
The Magic of Childhood (Peter Pan)
The Magic of a Wish (Pinocchio)
The Magic of Imagination (Mary Poppins)
The Magic of a Mother's Love (Dumbo)
The Magic of a Kiss (Princesses)
and also Geppetto was the first Disney character to actually wish upon a star

here's the first part of the fireworks took forever to upload -.-

and here's the second part for those who don't wanna scroll up..lol

I've been able to catch a bit of the new show on YT. Think it looks great, but it's obviously toned down from RDCT. To know for sure, I will have to go see for myself in two weeks!

It is toned down, but it is a nice addition for the summer! I also can't wait for the Dreams to come back.............I never got to see it from the parks only from the hotel :(

That is great video! Now where were you standing? In the middle of the hub?

As for watching near Small World, can you see Tink and dumbo? Wouldn't they be behind you then and the fireworks in front of you?

We watched it from the area in front of the Partners Statue. Everyone was sitting down, but they made us stand for the show. I loved the projections on the castle during the show during the Mary Poppins segment.

Thanks for the wonderful video. I just absolutely love it. I won't get to Disneyland this Summer, so I really appreciate being able to see it through these thoughtful video posts.

We were there on Wednesday.

I loved 'Dumbo' but am partial to RDCT. It's a much better show IMHO.

I hope they keep Dumbo and add it to RDCT, that would be perfect. :)

yeah but they don't have a section for Dumbo in RDCT unless they add it to the soundtrack and make room for it in the show..RDCT is more focused on the rides than the movies like Magical

I just don't see them retiring Dumbo anytime soon based on the reaction. IF they bring back RDCT, I do think they will try to incorporate it. That is a big IF because I have this feeling RDCT won't be back exactly as it was. Luckily, I was able to see it last Sunday. :)

So this will totally ruin the surprise in my trip report of seeing them, but oh well.

OMGOODNESS! I almost flipped out when I saw the fireworks on Wednesday, June 3rd. DH and I were walking towards Thunder Mountain when we noticed the fireworks going off. Since they had not been in the times schedule, I thought it was strange. However, earlier in the day (around 2 or 3) I saw the "some fantasyland attractions will be closing early tonight..." sign for the fireworks. I thought someone had done this by mistake?

Anyway, we're headed over towards BTMRR and I looked at DH and said, "AHHH!! Its the NEW SHOW!" And yes, I did scream it. And then realized people were staring at me and probably half the people watching didn't realize it was new, or wasn't on the schedule. DH asked if I wanted to watch and I said thats okay, I don't want to be in the crowds.

We went over to the ride and used our FPs. As we were loading on the ride every single CM working the attraction was flipping out. One specific CM kept saying "Why did I have to work tonight?" while another one kept saying, "Why didn't they tell us!?" I recorded a lot of it while waiting and while on the ride. It was so much fun to be on the ride while they were going on. We couldn't have planned the ride any better if we tried to do it on purpose. BTMRR at night with fireworks is magical in itself.

I was a little disappointed that I didn't see the whole thing, but ignored it for the time being...until we were back on Saturday night (we went to norther cali for a couple days). I was hoping that they would do the fireworks again and they did! It was so awesome and magical and everything I could have hoped for. Getting MIL and FIL out of the park before the fireworks (MIL is claustrophobic and doesn't do well at all in crowds) was a nightmare. We were literally shuffling our feet towards the exit. We showed them the path to the park exit and then left their side right before the Kodak picture shop and took our stance about 2 rows of people back behind the rope that is stationed there for a path. We had 15 minutes to spare and the most wonderful view of the show. No crying kids or annoying people around. :cool1: I was so happy I was almost tearing up - because I didn't think we'd see this show since we won't be back for awhile. Also, DH doesn't really care for the whole night entertainment/fireworks thing, so it meant the world to me that he was there.

The new fireworks are truly magical. :wizard:

We just got back from our week long stay and saw "Magical" on Wed, Fri, and Saturday for what they called their dress rehearsals.

First let me say that Remember Dreams Come True is my favorite firework show of all time and of both WDW and DL.

Magical was a letdown for me and the family. There are some nice elements like Dumbo flying and the pink and blue battle of fireworks but overall it was lacking. Nice to have fireworks but don't waste time trying to get that perfect spot. Just show up and watch.

Now I must say that the Celebrate Parade was better than I thought it was going to be. It doesn't translate well on Youtube. It was alot of fun and we watched it several times during the week. Highly recommended.
