Live Streamers at Restaurants

My issue is calling out someone that's done nothing wrong.
What is your definition of “calling someone out”? Mentioning our displeasure to the waiter? Posting here about it?

I do think it’s fair to discreetly provide feedback in the moment, which is what we did.

And just because something isn’t specifically forbidden, doesn’t make it appropriate. If the person sitting next to you loudly burped or made annoying noises through the whole meal would you say nothing because it’s not officially disallowed? (Ok, maybe a far-fetched example but it illustrates my point)
even if the waiter figures out who you are, what exactly do you expect to happen?
I’m sorry you don’t agree with my decision not to share the restaurant. I think, ultimately, it doesn’t really matter which exact place it was. The overall discussion is still valid as I’m sure it’s not isolated to just this one dining establishment anyway. I will say it was not a signature dining place.

As a matter of course, I try not to be too specific when cast members are discussed on a public forum (unless it's 100% positive). I have a ton of respect for the CMs…they deal with a lot of grey areas.
If the waiter made that type of response like you said he shouldn’t have gotten a smaller tip
I can tell you that we did not leave as big a tip as we ordinarily would have as we felt the waiter’s response lacked a bit of understanding or even a solution. With that said, our tip was still over 20% because everything else was fine.

Wait. Are you saying that people watch live videos of other people eating an entire meal?
I can understand taking photos or videos of each plate. I'm sure that is helpful in picking ADRs, but I'm barely able to sit still for an entire TS meal of my own, let alone watch someone else eat.

Most of the bloggers I watch have the camera really close up to their faces/food, but occasionally I'll see a review where the background diners are visible for long stretches of time- I would not want to be that diner.

I’m usually not one to meet bad behavior with bad behavior, but I would have been having a loud discussion about venereal diseases and the astounding physical unattractiveness of the people at the table next to us. This is beyond obnoxious and the fact that the waiter condoned the behavior definitely would have been reflected in his tip.

I would agree with no live streaming at table service restaurants and on attractions. They're supposed to be an upscale atmosphere compared to the rest of the park. But in the same vein, large families are more obnoxious than live streamers, and I'm not sure what Disney can do about those.

Awww boooo......I was watching a Mammoth Club video and they had silent videos of their foods and they did a voiceover to explain everything...wish those folks would have taken that route.....
Yup. That's one of the reasons I like them. Courteous! Thinking of others. I'll back that every time!

I have a playlist on my phone for this express purpose actually and I can't post what I call it on a family forum.

"Influencers" are absolutely ruining these parks tbqh even if a tiny handful of them are ethical and not inconsiderate grifters (I support a couple of them to encourage good behavior). I know that's sort of hilarious to post on a forum started by the pioneers in it but it's a hill I will absolutely die on and I don't care who gets mad. Probably the least millennial I feel is about this panopticon nonsense where you can't even go outside anymore without some dbag filming "content" and ending up online, and even if you set that aside most of them are boorish narcissists who only care about getting said content, and think nothing of other guests.

If you think that's harsh, I watched one of these dbags completely monopolize Mickey during those character pop ups at Early Entry they had as part of Cool Kid Summer. If you didn't experience it, these pop ups were random and not treated like a traditional M&G when you line up, the characters just sort of roamed with handlers interacting with guests for a time, and in 3 trips this summer that was the only time I ever saw Mickey out. This cow stood there with her dumb camera basically having a private video shoot with him for ages, completely oblivious or indifferent to the fact multiple people with small children wanted to go talk to him. It's been a long time since I've been that pissed off at people's behavior in the parks tbh and in hindsight I wish I would have said something. I was honestly too angry to think in the moment.
oh man who was this?! 🤣
