I really don't understand the logistics/space of it all as you do obviously, but yes, I'm aware of the bus loop and the number of buses. My thinking is that if they could find a way to get all park hoppers who take the bus to bypass security, maybe it would help to ease those security lines at the front of the park.
Yeah, that's for sure

So if I want to use this service for my family of 5 for one day assuming we have park hoppers. We would pay $75 to jump from one park to another? Sorry, I think uber would be way cheaper. Yes, I know you can jump to another park but realistically how many parks are you going to go to in ONE day? Just Disney trying to make more $$$$$$$$.

For one day, uber may cost less, but it doesn't if you go for the seven day $25 deal. How much does uber cost anyways? Do they have to pay to get into the parking lot? They aren't taxi cabs, so I'm thinking WDW would charge them to get in. They should, anyways.

1. How much does uber cost anyways?
2. Do they have to pay to get into the parking lot? They aren't taxi cabs,
3. so I'm thinking WDW would charge them to get in.
4. They should, anyways.
1. Varies.
2. Nope.
3. Nope.
4. No more than charging GUESTS who just want to pick up and drop off other guests.
(Which has been allowed for decades.)

I can only say what I was told. The first bus driver that took me from epcot to ak actually said that he is happy cause now he has more hours, he had no need to lie or misinform
I will not get into the debate if disney is just doing this for more money, or taking away services for the regular routes, or they should offer this for free
I have learned, especially this past year which posters will see disney doing everything wrong, pointing out negative "ifs" and some who don't even visit wdw but will jump in to comment how horrible wdw is doing.
I also have seen a lot of posters that say that everything disney does is great and the can do no wrong
I have my own opinions, I have lived in Orlando for 19 years and had an ap for about 17, I pretty much can tell where operations are failing and where they are striving, it is not my place, on a strategies and tip board, to say what I think disney is doing right and wrong.
I come here to help people plan and to ask questions of my own, I believe that's what this forum is for

And I can honestly say you are one of the best/most important members of this forum. I'd be hard pressed to find another poster who helps out as much as you do and can't thank you enough for being this boards main "boots on the ground" poster. Some of us who can't be in the parks as often as we'd like live vicariously through you! I think perhaps one of the reasons this you've noticed a bit of a riff this past year is simply because of the sheer number of "add-ons/cuts" that has taken place recently. I think it has unfortunately divided the Disney community. I'd wager to guess the overwhelming majority of posters on this board are here because we love Disney. To us it is the most magical place on earth. So I take what a lot of posters say, both positive and negative, with the idea that they love Disney and want it to be absolute best it can be.

Look we want you to express your opinions! You, being there, can really formulate a good idea on if something is worth it or not. Be it anything from one of these add-ons to a ride to the best means to exit a park. You can't eliminate the discussion aspect of this board. Heck its titled is "The Dis Disney Discussion Forum". One only have to look at Pete Werner to see that debating Disney is something the owner himself does all the time. But again a big Thank You from this forum member to you for all of the hard work you put into helping people out with their Disney plans. You probably have no idea just how many people you have helped over the years. For everyone who has thanked you throughout your time on the forums you need to times it by 100 because there are probably members and non members who have made their vacations better just because they have read one of your posts.

thank you for your kind words, and my post wasn't for people to say how much I have helped, I love helping out and do not need people thanking me for it, I appreciate it but I do it from the bottom of my heart, and that's something I have always taught my kids, help out because you want to not because you need a thank you or validation.
I think the point I'm coming from is that some posters just intuitively go extreme, where every add on is a bad thing and what would Walt say and it's all about money, and calling people that are interested in the service crazy and feeding the beast and elite. And I understand that discussion on a discussion board inevitable, but if you are not being proactive about it, then why post at all?
Sure we can be upset about something Disney does, but each time I have been upset about something that affects my time at the park I email them, I go to Guest Relations, I talk to managers and coordinators on site. Some might say that it doesn't do any good but I disagree, I have seen Disney change things and improve things and cut out things. And no I'm not sending an email a week, I only email them when they do something I feel can be improved or has a direct impact on me and my family.
The cabanas? have no negative impacts for me
This express service? has no negative impacts for me and I did tell every manager I encountered that day about what I thought was great and about what I didn't like
The cut of SWW had a negative impact for me and I know they could have done it this year, I sent an email, I got a call back and I expressed my opinions. Did it change anything? no. But I didn't just complain on these boards I contacted the company
I also send a lot of positive emails, about CM and services I like
I guess I'm just saying, discussion is fine as long as you don't belittle your fellow posters and as long as you are doing something about it, not just complaining
I've seen a lot of very strong, negative opinions by some, they are frequent and I ask myself, why come at all if you feel that way?
In the end, your trip is the attitude you bring with you, if you come predisposed in hating everything, from the moment you see the $35 preferred parking to seeking out where the ugly looking cabanas are, I can guarantee you will not have a good trip.

Without a doubt. There is a way to express your displeasure with something without having to insult others. A little respect from everyone goes a long way. But to answer your question on why come here at all I'm going to have to say its because (I hope) that these posters have a love for Disney. I look at it like this....I'm a pretty active member in a large Manchester United forum. There are posters in there, who are season ticket holders (those ain't cheap), that post things in the forums that would make you think they hate the club. But they go to every game, they travel to many of the away games, and love the club more than just about everything. Yet some of the stuff they post makes you scratch your head, but that forum is our Manchester United family. And they go there because thats where they can discuss the thing they love with like minded people....even if they're just going to vent. I see it similar to this forum. I think that if you ask most people on here they have a trip booked or are planning on taking one. They maybe asking WWWD, but its not because they hate it, its because of a love for it. They want it to be better. Yes they should be contacting Disney and letting them know their opinions. Maybe they are, I know I have. But discussing it also might help some of those get it who didn't get it at first. Nobody knew how the express transport was going to work until you did it. And seeing it work out I think a lot of people might have changed their original tune on it. Some still don't like it and they are entitled to their opinion. I'm not a fan of silencing anyone and as long as it is being discussed with respect it should be allowed.

YES!! All of this!!! You hit the nail on the head repeatedly! Thank you for all of your help. I plan on using this if its still around for my January trip. And with this I'm going to unwatch this thread because it's almost as bad as a facebook comments section!

But uber is for-profit. Does Disney allow taxis and buses from offsite resorts through without a fee?

This thread is focused on discussing the Express Service for Park Hopping. The focus of all threads on TPAS is to assist those who plan to visit the parks in the near future and to increase their awareness of the benefits of the current offerings.

Uber can best be discussed on the Transportation Forum.

I have an AP and was at the parks this past week. I saw two of the kiosks in the parks- at MK and HS- but zero advertising. I wouldn't have known what they were without the Dis. They don't really interest me at this stage in life but I think for a trip with teens or adults who want to power through it could be nice.

And I love Yulilin's posts and hard work. :)

We are staying at the Beach Club, and I'm wondering if taking the express bus from MK to Epcot and walking to the Beach club would be faster/more convenient than taking a resort bus from MK to BC?

Maybe. But that stop at Epcot is really far from BC. If you happen to end your MK day in Tomorrow Land at the time of a pick up you could try it out. If you are ending your day at MK in Adventure Land it is less likely to save you much time or walking

The drop off at Epcot is at the exact opposite side of the park from BC. I can't see that it would take less time. It might sometimes work out to be a similar amount of time since you'd know when the park to park bus would be leaving and could time that but might have to wait for the resort bus. If the resort bus were there right when you arrived at the bus stop I'd expect that to take less time then.

Would have been awesome if the Express Transport location at Epcot was closer to the International Gateway for easy access to the Boardwalk and World Showcase. Maybe that would be useful feedback for them!

I wonder if they have the timing for buzz to go on breaks different then earn the buss are there and if something happens and buzz need to go back stage then that is when they will say something happened to the buss and it will be X amount of time. ( you know enough for buzz to get some where or what ever he needs
Not sure if this has been already said. Characters have sets of 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off. It can get dangerously hot in costume. I worked in MK years ago on the CP. Backstage areas really aren't that exciting. They do help cast members move around. If you are in your costume on stage you aren't able to move from land to land because you would be out of place. I do remember the zoo was pretty much in the middle of the tunnel heading down Main St. I used to watch the characters warming up.

Uber can best be discussed on the Transportation Forum.

We were comparing the prices of the different transportations - if that isn't allowed here, sorry. Maybe the whole thread (which deals with transpo) should be moved then?

Taxis do have to pay parking fee (once a day like everyone else) because they have reserved parking spots to wait for costumers. Uber drivers get called and so don't park, so they use the drop off/pick up locations

The Express Buses pick up and drop off in the Theme Parks specifically for park hopping between the Theme Parks. Uber isn't specific to park hopping.

Thanks @yulilin3 for the real-time info as you used the service for the first time. I always park hop at least once a day when I go, sometimes twice, so a service like this would be well worth the current price point. I know it's just a test, but hoping it proves successful and becomes a permanent option.
