I always bring my confirmation too, no matter where we are staying.

When are you going and what rate are you being quoted? (if you don't mind my asking.) They're currently renovating rooms on the 7th, 8th and 9th floors (that I observed -- could be other floors too!) so if you're not going in the next several weeks, you'll probably have a newly refurbished room! :yay:

The Swan & Dolphin are really wonderful resorts. You can't beat the location and (as long as you're not paying rack) you can't beat the price! :)

Many of us here will be happy to answer any questions you have so please ask away!

Thanks Rachel, We will be going the 10th of September, I was quoted a price of 324.oo for a king corner balcony room 9th floor. Are you familiar with this room or the area it is in? Thanks

We'll have to ask one of the experts, like Dreamflight99 or Blondie. Rack rate for your dates for a King Balcony (not a corner!) is $269. So that would be $55 more a night for the corner. Swolpin Experts: How does that sound? What views might grammy520 & her DH have? :)

There are corner balcony rooms at the end of every wing so your view will depend on which wing you're in. I posted some pictures from our room, on the 8th floor, in the near east wing on page 176.

I dont' know how to cut and paste a previous post.. but...
We just returned form the Swan and had a rental car. We were charged $9.00 a day whether we took the car out or not. It is a daily charge added to the bill. (We only used the car once to go to Super Wal Mart!!)
BTW loved the hotel.
Even got an upgrade to a balcony from a standard view nurses discount room with a 230am check in!!!!! We didn't even ask.. we were just glad to be there after some delayed flights.:cool1:
Great view of the boardwalk, the lake and the Yacht and Beach Club!!!!

So, my husband and I are planning our first trip to Disney for late November. I'm trying to figure out where to stay, and the Dolphin sounds really great! I'm wondering if they offer all the same amenities as staying in a Disney resort, such as transportation from the airport? Also, about the parking fee, I thought you weren't charged the fee if you didn't leave the parking lot?

Welcome to the DIS, grammy and Conway.

As for parking fee, a charge for every overnight in the lot. And no ME from airport.

Thanks for all of you that are able to help with my planning since I have never been to disney.I really appreciate it !!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2:

I already had a $189.50 rate for a std. room using my AAA discount. Tonight I read that the government discount wasn't just federal govt, but state also. Since I'm a PA state employee, I called and sure enough, as long as I bring my state ID and the most recent pay stubb, I can get the room for $169.00. I'm quite excited about that!

Sorry, I think I did confuse my post a little. We had a car which was not always there overnight (shared with Dsis and her family at another resort). On the days we swiped the card to go in and out, we were charged. If we did not use the lot one day, we weren't charged. I guess I was trying to say that you aren't charged parking for any or all of your stay UNLESS you have a car in the lot. It is charged based on use, not an automatic fee.

Hi everyone,

Just a few questions for the experts:goodvibes

Does anyone know the locations of the Dolphin Jr. Suites? How are the views?
We like to stay on an upper floor in the West wing and the view is pretty important to us.

I assume they have been renovated but are the Murphy beds in the parlor "HEAVENLY"?:cloud9:

Any info on these rooms is appreciated. :)

Thanks.

Eileen

Wow! My head's spinning from all this info. I have a question though. from what I've read, Dolphin can accommodate up to 5 people while Swan only sleeps 4. We have 3 kids and Dolphin is booked for the week that we're wanting to go.
I tried booking Swan through DU for the same week, and after placing 2 adults, and 3 kids, it's allowing me to book a room. I'm quite nervous about the whole thing because even though the DU page says I'm booking for 2 adults and 3 kids, the Swan website says they can only take 4 in a room. Any thoughts?
Also, can you combine a nurse discount with a SPG discount? Thanks.

We have 3 children and we have stayed at Swan and Dolphin. I was told that 5 guests is fine in both resorts. Our children are small and can sleep comfortably in 1 bed.

We have always used my husband's Gov't discount and we're SPG Preferred guests. I'm not sure what the SPG Discount is.

We are going on our first DisneyWorld Trip and we chose to go over Christmas week on a Land/Sea Trip. We have decided to purchase our flight seperate so we can take a non stop and would like to add one day to the front end of trip - so we can fly in and get settled.

We would like to arrive 12/21 instead of 12/22 which AAA said was fine, but we would like to insure we have a great view room - turrert balcony or something special - can I do this in advance?

Also can I order a Christmas Tree for one of my rooms?

Hi -- we're leaving next week for a stay at the Swan; after reading this, I'm getting a little nervous. I assumed there was a pull out chair or something for the 5th person....there isn't? Where are they supposed to sleep?

Thanks,
Wendy

I have heard several people say they bring an air matress or if 3 of the people are small children have them sleep in 1 bed. Maybe you can get a rollaway, but for some reason, I thought I remembered someone say those were only at the Dolphin.
