i was told they're not in YOMD outfits because it doesn't mesh with the new backgrounds. ha.
anyway, if you don't mind me piggybacking, rather than creating a dupe post, here's a review i wrote:
Today marked the opening of Character Spot which replaced the Character Connection (which replaced the characters on holiday). Same old spot, not the same great experience.
The old character connection almost never had a line because it was indoors behind dark glass, so nobody really knew it was there. They've now replaced the entire wall with clear glass so everyone can see inside, which means it was a half hour or so wait around 4:30. The line does move though.
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip & Dale once again have their own lines and new backdrops instead of those old postcards. They also appear in their traditional outfits, as I was told the backgrounds don't mesh with the YOMD outfits.
this also means.. for the sake of continuity, they also appear in traditional clothes at the disney visa meet & greet now
so all in all, i'm not thrilled with the window change.
