New DVC Promo @ Doorway to Dreams

I think its Genius. They can raise the cost per point if they do this in the future. I bet Ca will be like $120 per point.

Any idea if we have to buy in person or can we do it by phone? My guide hasn't called me back yet...

Congrats Roselark! I know how excited you are! I just convinced hubby to buy 2 weeks ago, and we are already busy planning trips, even though they are 2 years out! :)

So did I read there's some developer points being bandied about with the 100 point buy in now?

Would you guys buy in at disney for 100 points or do a 50 point resale?

obvious personal situation issues aside but...We're looking at studio for the next few years 2 adults 1 small child...50 points resale seemed good but if can do 100 points through disney might be better?

Chris

If you are financing, is it still a 10% down deal?? Anyone know the terms of the loans they are offering for this?

I am at the beach right now so calling my guide is out of the question!

Earlier in May, we passed up the SSR incentives because 160 was just too much $ and too many points for us yet. We were planning on buying 100 points resale since that is the right amount for us, but now hubby is interested in buying direct again. AKL definitely was not a first choice, but we decided we can be happy staying there, because it is still onsite disney property.

10% down plus closing costs. 10.75% preferred rate, not sure what the non-preferred rate is.

So, new purchasers can get 100 AKL points at $96 a point, with 130 developer points, when buying at Disneyland? Is that same offer available for add-ons, and is it available at WDW and in Illinois?

From my understanding, the 130 dev. points for a 100 point purchase was only for the holiday weekend. You may be able to call the DL DVC center and get it, but I would assume that deal isn't around for long.

I have a question what can you do with just 100 points. Do you book during the week and then pay cash on weekends. we have traveled in the summer since school schedule is usually when we can travel.

So if the new minimum initial buy in is 100 points, then I'm guessing existing owners who add 100 points or more could get a different UY.

Yes, no, maybe??:confused3

:thumbsup2

At AKV, 100 points is enough for 1 week in a Value or Standard studio for most dates. You could stretch it even farther by staying weeknights only. (10 -12 nights at $8/9 per studio).

Oh ok I ask since i have never stayed in a studio and I own at okw and boardwalk. What is a value or standard studio. Are these studios different then the ones at okw and boardwalk

I believe the difference is in the views. The majority of rooms have Savanna views (which are 2-4 pts more per night). The standard view rooms overlook the pool, garden or parking lot. Value rooms are in the Lodge building only and could be parking lot, pool or savanna views.

thanks and good to see a fellow person from Illinois here. Isn;t there going to be another view at akv. I am not that familiar with the vacation club there is I have the other two .

There is also Concierge level, but is hard to get:

"The Concierge level accommodations offer access to the Kilimanjaro Club lounge, bathrobes, turndown service and the ability to participate in two unique safari experiences (for an additional fee.)"

Which part of Illinois are you from? Chicagoland?

yes live in the chicago land area. Welcome to dvc i think you will like it we have

Thanks! I didn't get around to looking into this, but hopefully another good deal will come along soon.

Many people do this, although there is no guarantee cash ressies will be available for your travel dates. There is often a discount for DVC members staying on a cash ressie, but again, no guarantee of availability. You may want to start a new thread to ask about people's experiences with making cash ressies for the weekends.

I bought just prior to the current incentive, and was supposed to get APs, but haven't received them.

Did they come in the fed-ex package, or does the APs come after closing?

Anyone know,

THanks, Goldi
