We bought points and booked our first trip this Dec. (18th -23rd) at okw. We really would like to try bwv. What are our chances of a getting our wish ? Do they just let us know if something opens for the timeframe or do we need to call ?? We are on the waitlist ...do these usually come through??

There are two kinds of waitlist. With one, they call you and notify you that your waitlisted spot is available. You then have 24 hours, I believe, to accept the waitlist. If you dont do anything, it goes to the next person on the list and you have to go back on the waitlist if you want.

The other waitlist is automatically filled. They don't call you, they just take the points out of your account and send you a confirmation in the mail. We just did that successfuly for an additional day at OKW in December.

Either way, you are in good shape. If your waitlist comes through, you grab it and cancel your original reservation. If not, you're still set.

Be careful of one thing, though. If you have made any ADR's using the original confirmation, they will be cancelled if you cancel that reservation. I'm sure there is a method to avoid that happening if you are just switching locations, but be careful of it.

Welcome Home!

To answer your question, I hate to sound negative, but I think your chances are iffy. December is busy, a lot of people get waitlisted that month; in general, I think you were fortunate to get the reservation you did. (this time last year I tried to get availability at OKW for Dec. and couldn't get it). This year I booked at BWV at the 11 month window for your same dates, but I did get a boardwalk view.

So, pixie dust for your waitlist--worst case is you will still enjoy OKW, but the best part is you get to come back again, and BWV will still be waiting for you. :wizard:

I'm not sure that's accurate but the info I saw said you simply needed to call back with the new reservation number.

As long as you're not looking for a standard view only, your chances are so so. Just remember the waitlist gets wiped out at 30 days and a new one started so you should call back at 30 days. Then at 7 days there is no more wait list so you may want to call from time to time.
