I've researched for about a year and finally made the jump - we returned from a trip yesterday where we went ahead and bought at AKV basic buy-in 160 points. I'm sure that I'll still have a ton of questions and am thankful DIS has a great community to bring them to - wanted to say hello!

Sure - since I was already on the fence, the extra 100 points and the Oct 07 use year helped push me over. Just more up front to plan with. However, our previous misgivings had been that we usually 'do' Disney every 18 months-2 years, and are at the point of wanting to try other vacations when we can as well but aren't sure how to fit them in. But after talking about it a lot, we realized we love the option of being able to try Hilton Head Island and Vero Beach between AKV/WDW trips. Still great value, but not with quite the level of cost of tickets, etc. that our WDW trips involve. More laid back - plus, my DH is a freaky avid golfer and will love golfing in HH.

We wanted to buy at AKV because after staying there in 2006, we fell in love. We tried WL this past trip because we got a good deal and thought we'd try WL theme and see how we liked it. We changed ADR's while there to go to Boma because we missed AKL so much, and when we got there walked in and said, 'this is "our" resort - we miss it!'. That's when we knew we'd buy DVC at AKV.
