That's a nice room, madge, with a great view!
You can see the Fantasmic FW from there!
And sometimes, late at night, MGM practices some of their FW exhibitions!
Never know what suprise show you'll get!::yes::

exhibition fireworks, hmmm......maybe that's what all the ruckus was late last night....it sure was noisy::yes::

at the moment, there's a big party going on at the pool. a noisy party, LOL....people having a blast, but hard to get little ones to sleep :/

there is a world of difference this trip in the conventions. lots and lots of familes and not so many suits.

something I've seen mentioned here that I'll make note of--there was a message on my machine tonight about late checkouts tomorrow (we have 2 reservations-checking out and checking in tomorrow, LOL). the message said that there would be absolutely no checkouts past 11AM. I am hopeful that it isn't this way all week--we intended to use that perk Thursday.

Madge - you're in Disney World!!!!! :teeth: :sunny:
Hope you enjoy your stay....sounds like you have a lovely room.
Can't wait to hear about all your adventures.....as well as those of others going soon! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Hoping DF and her DF are both having smooth recoveries! :grouphug:

Well, our Pee-Wee squad (3rd and 4th graders) took 2nd runner-up, our Juniors (5th & 6th grade) recieved 1st runner-up, and our Seniors (7th and 8th grade) are
ECA NATIONAL CHAMPS! (two years in a row!) Not only that, but two of our seniors got high enough points to be invited to cheer during halftime at next year's Pro Bowl in Hawaii!!

Congrats Kimmar ~ That's great news! Thanks for keeping us posted.... National Champs... great job!

Madge ~ I had the same message on my machine when I was there. However I had no problem getting the late check out. I called the night before, but was told to call back in the morning. We were able to get a 3:00 checkout... :)

I finally got our pictures back today :) I wanted to share our family photo at MK at Crystal Palace... :wave2: When can I go back... :wave2:

I will share more later... I have pics of club lounge at Dolphin!

DF- you and your DF still in my prayers. If you can, snack on raisins and prunes regularly. Not only do they contain iron, but they also conteract the clogging tendencies of iron supplements (Lady that you are, I won't go into greater detail but I'm sure you get my drift ;) ). Most importantly, get your rest. Concentrate on yourself. You're such a gracious, giving person with strangers, I can imagine the love and care you lavish on those who are close to you. Turn it inward for your own healing. Close down your "must do" list for the time being. And take it easy even once you're feeling better, which will probably be really soon. They didn't just pull 6 weeks out of the air (if I sound like I'm speaking from experience, I am. I had a relapse once after surgery, trying to be Superwoman  ). And I won't feel bad if you don't answer. I'll just think you're taking my advice.:goodvibes

Madge, I had the same message regarding early check out. I didn't test it though as I was leaving early anyway. Have a great time! By the way, ESPN on the Boardwalk makes a nice Mahi-Mahi fish sandwich.

Sunlover, I received a complimentary upgrade to a balcony room. I emailed ahead but never saw it on my reservation online (although, the last few days I was too busy to check). When I arrived the registration agent told me that they reserved a balcony room for me. It was facing Epcot and the Boardwalk walkway. Beautiful sunrise in the morning. Nice view of Crescent Lake. Room 3023. Heavenly beds. When I asked if it was a renovated room she said oh yes as though that was to be expected. I liked the dresser drawer set up. Lamps plus separate over the bed lights that had their own controls. I did wake up hot one night, waved my roll pillow at the sensor and went back to sleep. I never had the time to inquire how to keep the air on all night but if you need cool air to sleep you might ask right away.

Great picture MomPoppins!

Have a great Monday All! :sunny:

I have been out of town (Racing in Memphis, TN) and just found out about DF  !

I want to offer my belated prayers for your speedy recovery.

Don't let the Doc's recovery estimate get you down. I'll bet (If you take it easy!) you will be better in no time. If you are not snowed in by all the falling Pixie Dust :earseek: ! Watch out, Avalanche!!:teeth: LOL

I have good news and bad news. DD-12 did qualify for the State Math Tourney, in spite of having a car wreck on the way to competition. Other DD-9 has been selected as her schools
"A+ Student" and will be honored at a special banquet by our School Board. BAD NEWS DD-9 and DS-5 got literally covered with Poison Ivy over Spring Break. They are on the mend now thank goodness. Both are extremely susceptible to it  .

Sorry about all the exclamation marks!

On topic... Is anyone else going to be at S/D in mid June? I heard the tickets prices went up...augh! Mom Poppins, I am definitely planning a CL Pizza night. It sounds like a perfectly relaxing wind down to a busy park day. I hadn't thought of doing that until you said it.

Mom Poppins ~ What a great picture of your family at Crystal Palace. You've got me so excited because the only PS I've made so far is at CP for 8:05 breakfast, with 9 a.m. park opening. These are our favorite characters of all! DS15 had a stuffed Pooh that he slept with until he was about 8 or 9. Now he lives in a drawer in his dresser :( . Not cool to have him out and about when the guys are over :cool2:! And DD20 has his old Pooh and friends bedspread and curtains in her dorm room at college:p ! She's easy to buy for - any stuffed Pooh and friends (Eeyore is equally adored!) I have to IM her and tell her to look at your picture. You might hear her scream from Pennsylvania:teeth:!

Can't wait til you post more! Thanks!

Debbie 7452 ~ we'll be at the Swan 6/17-23!

DF ~ Hope all is going well with your recovery! Miss your many posts!

We were at the Swan earlier this month and got the same message. I had requested late check-out. When I checked at the desk, they checked my ressie and said, "Oh yes, we have you down for a 4 p.m. check-out". We also have two ressies (first time we have ever done that). We didn't know that we had to get new keys for the second ressie. Imagine our surprise when we came up from the pool and found our key no longer worked!

:teeth:

Mom Poppins ~ I just IM'ed DD and showed her your picture. Her answer was "We are SO doing that". I told her we already have reservations (sorry, priority seating) and she was thrilled. She said she wants a picture just like that! Thanks again!

Your welcome :) It makes my day to know it made your DD happy to see the picture :)

Sounds like the room I'm dreaming of....and it could happen! :D

Love your picture Mom Poppins. Unfortunately I'm the only remaining family member who loves Pooh....and will admit it! :p I still wear lots of Pooh gear so my kids have to put up with it! We ate at CP on our last trip but it's not in the plans this time. We will dine with characters at Chef Mickey's and the Beach Club.

DD Monica and Thabo... I know lots of you have met him, but this was our first time. I thought I would take a picture of him for those who have not met him yet.. .. :)

Mom Poppins~Love the Pictures!! I'm glad your vacation was super! Isn't that Thabo a love? I really enjoyed talking with him.

bballmom~Definitely do the Crystal Palace! It is one of our all time favorites.

DF~Hope you are feeling stronger every day!:sunny:

Sorority room wave to all!

Kirk Junior and Kirk Senior, can we say "ahhhh"
That's all for now... :wave2:

I love the pictures! Thank you so much for sharing! I can't believe how big baby Kirk is now! You have a very lovely family! Are those chocolate croissants I spy in that one picture? I have been craving those! Nice to see Thabo again, too!

Great room location, Tink!

Congrats to your children, Debbie! I am so sorry about the Poisen Ivy! I hope they recover quickly!

Continued P and PD for DF and her father's quick recovery!

SAY YES TO CP! We finally went last year for lunch, as my PS request, and we loved it! Mind you, this was a meal for me, including the characters, but both kids loved it too! DH also!

I just put in my Q and C order along with a bunch of VK lunch vouchers. We're set! I ordered them from connections so I am hoping they'll have the later dates on them as I still have a few left over from our past trip. I think we're ready to vacation with Mickey! Move counter, MOVE! *pretty please!*

Sorority wave to all!
Debbie

PS Pooh rocks! :)

Evening Ladies!!! (and Loubon if you are there......)

Wonderful photo - we have yet to go to the CP for a character meal. THIS TIME!!!! My cell phone cover is Winnie/Eoyore/Piglet and DS changed the message when you turn it on to say "Oh, bother".

DD loves them all, DS still has a fondness for 'Nobody cares about me.......'.

Thanks for the photo of Thabo. I'm sure I didn't meet him. But I would recognize MamaT if she came to my door tomorrow!!! Such a wonderful lady!!

Tink44...... (I remember those side effects from the iron pills when I was pregnant - that's why I quit them - my kids are probably iron deficient!!)

Oh my gosh! This thread was 4 threads away from being on page 3! Had to look a long time to find it :p . Plus I wanted to see if Mom Poppins had posted any more pictures:teeth:

Hi everyone,

I hope its okay to jump in - it seems like you all know each other and the Swan/Dolphin area so well that its a little overwhelming. The last time I was at the Swan/Dolphin was about 9 years ago at a convention. Since then I've vacationed at the MK resorts. We are planning a big family (grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles etc)vacation for April of 2005. We were all set to book our stay at the Poly when I realized that we have several family members who I think qualify for the government/nurses/teachers rate at the Swan/Dolphin. I mentioned it to some and they thought it was a great deal so I thought I would look into it for everyone. I posted some questions earlier and got some feedback but I was wondering if others could take a look and see if you know the answer or can point me in the right direction. I've been reading through posts but have not found answers to some of the questions.
many thanks and its been fun reading through this thread - you all have a wonderful group of friends!!
