Hello :D
This is a Dolphin CL.... V...... Poly GV Conc question
I was wondering if anyone here could just spare me a minute:confused:  I really am so very torn about what to do
i am in need of some serious persuasion....
Ok here is my dilema....We loved the Poly..but i have been reading things about the S/D and i think it may be a good (cheeper) option for us
I have got a reservation for Poly GV conc $370inc tax....but i have also got a Dolphin CL ressie for $218 inc tax as i am soo unsure what to do
Now i have only ever stayed at the Poly....but is the Dolphin going to ok for us as a family 2DS 14 and 12 and 1 DD age 4...We will be spending quite a lot of time at the hotel as we will be ther for 16 nts. Please tell me what my children are going to love about the dolphin.
My boys love the water parks so a good pool is really important...does the grotto pool cater for kids...is there a slide or an interactive area like the Poly has?

The other thing my boys loved was the convenience of the lounge at the Poly and being able to get drinks etc when they needed them...without having to charge it or ask me for some cash...will they be able to do this at the dolphin?
Please help me i really need to read that my kids are going to love it just as much at the Dolphin as they would at the Poly

One thing i will just add is...views.... and location are not important to Us ...this holiday is about my children ....not me :teeth:
Thank you soooo much for taking the time to read my post
take care and have a really great day
Nikki:wave:

I stayed at the Dolphin for 16 nts this past Jan. We are a family of 3 and upgraded to an executive suite. Actually it was a free upgrade because we were Plat SPG at the time. The rooms at the Dolphin are a little smaller than the rooms at the Poly. I think you should upgrade to a Jr. Suite at the Dolphin. The renovated rooms and suites are beautiful and comfy. We have stayed at all the onsite deluxes and prefer the Dolphin. We will be trying the Swan for the first time next year. You get alot for your money and you can't beat the location. At the Dolphin the CL serves a very nice continental breakfest from 7a-10a, then it opens again at 5p-9p with cookies, fruit and much more. If you want beverages inbetween those times just grab a few extra in the morning and keep them in the room fridge. You can empty the mini bar yourself and use the fridge for free. Do you qualify for a discount at the Dolphin? I just used our AAA membership for a discount for our next stay in 2/05. You can also get an AP discount at the Dolphin. You certainly will not find a more reasonably priced Jr. suite onsite then the beautiful ones at the S/D. The extra room is so nice for a long stay. Happy planning!

DF, glad to hear from you! Take care!

Muffy

Hello DF. I hope you get back to feeling great very soon.

I recently made a room request that entails an upgrade. They acknowledged receipt of the request. Will I receive a second Email indicating whether or not it has been approved?

8 days and counting! :Pinkbounc

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

nikki u.k ~ I also have a 14 year old and would like to add you can get him a room key with charging priviledges on it so he can charge back to the room. Your kids will love the grotto pool, there is a slide and it is a huge pool area. Again I will mention location location location, The boardwalk is so close to the Dolphin for some other entertainment for the kiddos as well as minature golf(all within walking distance). Epcot and MGM are right at your front door, you can take the boat taxi or walk to these parks. At the club lounge from 5-7 pm they also have 1 hot item to go along the the fruits, cheeses and cookies. We love the Dolphin!

:wave2:

Look at us over on page "2" again! Nearly 19,000 HITS (and only 800+ posts! LOL).

Hi...to everyone in the room on this GLORIOUS April 1, 2004! :wave2:

*Am now taking my iron pills with OJ, from DisfanRN!

* Mouseteacher

*MP, #1HM, HughJackman'n'me (AKA:KIMMAR), LOU, Muffy, Goofy in NY...thank you for the warm wishes! :goodvibes:

Still recovering...slowly. Everything is going well here, but I MISS all of you tremendously. I "think" of you in the eves, when I am completely drained of my resources and have no choice but to rest (or collapse!...LOL).

I'm also thinking of our summer trip...and all the wonderful times we will share in the sunshine and MAGIC of WDW & the WDW Dolphin! Mary @ mousesavers emailed me to reply and inform me there are NO discounts on the PAP/AP's (after the DC was cancelled 12/31/03). :( Only FLA residents and Military qualify for the current discounts. Time to just "bite the bullet" and buy the three we need! ::yes::

Hope this posts finds you all well, and happy! :sunny:

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

 Good evening to all! Thanks for the updates on your get-well progress, DF!

madge~ thanks for the reports from the "inside". I usually am at the Grotto Pool in the summer. I must say that the water temp is quite cool even in the heat and humidity. I believe it has to do with the waterfall. I used the Swan quiet pool, too, and found that water quite comfortable.

MP~ love the new pic!

Kimmar~ thanks for sharing the good news over here. It's nice to have WL folks drop by.

Disbug~ Where are you? :(

Dreamflight>> I know there is a discount when you renew your AP or PAP. What I don't know is if you can let time lapse before the next purchase. That I will find out about in November. Man, I love this AP I finally have!

DD just expressed some interest in the July trip. DS was standing right next to her and told her "you know, its the sorority sister meet so you'll have to be on your best behavior"... From the mouth of a ten year old! LOL I am pretty sure she'll do just fine! lol We worry about him :) and are nicely suprised when he's civilized!

I love all of the posts from the world! Keep them coming! Yes, where is our Disbug?

I love the new family pic for mompoppins! Yes, I wanted to see the new castle picture, but the CP pic is just so precious and beautiful!

Room wave to all! from coast to coast!
Debbie

HockeyMom and DF - I asked a CM this question and was told you have 30 days to renew (from the expiration date). Your new expiration date would be one year from when the pass actually expired (regardless if you renew on the exact date or wait 30 days)

DF - rest when your body tells you........and it will help in your healing!

p.s this was a selfish post..........I just wanted to see my countdown!

Oh, and Disbug is heading back to the World this weekend........in case she doesn't pop in before then.

Thanks marymrg! I'll have to do some math to see where the discount/date break even point lands. I'll know more then as to if I'll be back in Tampa in November. That right there could decide it!

Debbie

20 hours! You have 20 hours! Get packing, girl! I am sure you and Disbug will have a great time! Bon Voyage to both of you and your families!

The only perk I see in living in the North right now..........no use for any summer clothes!

I didn't renew my AP last Sept since I knew I wouldn't be back until now. I had already gotten more than my money's worth. So - this new one will last through next Easter (it's earlier in 2005) and give me an excuse to plan at least one spur of the moment trip. It all depends on when your next 1.5 - 2 years of trips will be. One thing is for sure...........they aren't getting any cheaper.

:sunny: Wishing magical journeys for those on their way....or already at the World! :sunny:

Nice to see you DF....glad to hear recovery is going well, although slower than you'd like. Keep those thoughts of your summer trip coming and it will be here before you know it! :D

:wave2: everyone!!!!!

Ok, MaryMRG! I am jealous.... I should be TOTALLY packed but I am bogged down in a little light paperwork before I go! LOL! We are staying at POFQ this weekend to see the newly rennovated resort! Turns out DD9 is going to go to MK with her class but the choir competition is at UNIVERSAL STUDIOS?? (I am so confused!) I am driving down following the bus, so we can stay for the weekend...

Hope to run into Mary down there this weekend... I am attempting to return the journal and the Box to the DOLPHIN Concierge this weekend for all of you "EASTER SPRING BREAKERS"! So be on the lookout for it....

As our missing in action Dreamflight is fond of saying!

TTFN!

DF..I have been away for so long...I hope you are ok...I sent you something this week!

Well, I did it! Two timers! Airfare bought! 20-26th of July! Its Sorority meet time!

Mouseteacher>> I negated to mention that I have been doing my callback dance big time for you! Good luck to your husband. I am sure he is going through a lot of stress right now, along with you! I just know this will all work out. I know my pinkslip is coming. I am just going to try to ignore it this time! I feel that due to them calling everyone back, eventually that is, that I will probably get the call sooner than later, once again. (Albeit the DAY before school started! Better than late October, though, which is when more than a few teachers were called back! ack!)

I second Marymrg's note about not needing summer clothes. Just when we thought spring was here, winter hit again and won't leave!

ZW- I just called SPG and told them that I was downgraded. They did not have my AMEX card on file, so it was not indicated that I needed to remain Gold. She could tell by the card number that I was a Starwood AMEX holder, she entered it, and Voila! Gold again. We got the new gold SPG card in the mail today.

I tried this and was told there was nothing that could be done and "to contact the powers that be through SPG email.." hence how I got my latest reply....

#1HM~ thanks so very much and please keep that dance going! My sorority sisters are the best! We are keeping our spirits up and sending his resume out. If all goes well, I'll be at the S/D meet on the 16th through the 21st. DH and I are thinking that DS and I will go as a graduation gift for him since he was looking forward to the trip. We don't want to disappoint him if we don't have to.

:hyper: I received your PM! Thank you, for remembering me. ::yes:: You are a sweetie!

And, have I mentioned lately that this is the BEST THREAD on the DIS? You are the kindest and most helpful group of people on this earth, and I am BLESSED to be associated with each and every one of you! :goodvibes:

*MIA....(LOL), HERE I AM, DISBUG!! :wave2:

HELLO  to all my fellow sisters! I am following your advice, and trying to REST when my body sends a signal (it's always sooner than I would LIKE!). My cheeks get flushed and my lungs feel winded just climbing the stairs (saves on BLUSH!). I see my DR next week for a full CBC check-up. He says I lost nearly 1/3 of the total volume of HEMO in my body! WOW...I guess that is substantial, and will take more than a cookie/doughnut and a glass of juice (like at the bloodbank) to restore!

To the sisters leaving soon...:sunny: HAVE a WONDERFUL & MAGICAL TIME!! Stay SAFE and ENJOY!

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

P.S. MY TIMER BROKE the 100 DAY MARK!! :teeth:

Yeah! You're in double digits, DF! I am so glad to see your posts when you're able! I think we're all very worried about you and can't wait for a full recovery to come soon. Keep resting, and soon you'll be buying blush again!

P and PD,
Debbie

Good Morning to all:wave2:

We will be at the Dolphin in less than a week:Pinkbounc

I am going to begin packing this weekend!! Very excited:tongue:

Mouseteacher: Sounds like you are going through what DH & I went through a while back:worried: It is a stressful time, I am sure. So glad to hear your spirits are up and remember "when God closes a door, he opens a window!"

DF: So glad you are up and around at least a little. Keep taking good care of yourself and rest as much as possible!

Mompoppins- I never mentioned how wonderful your pictures are - they are beautiful & so is your family!

Now I just hope I can convince my DH to get an antibiotic for his earache before we get on the plane;)

Have a great Saturday!
Dismom63

Make sure to pack some sinus headache pills in your purse for the plane! I swear by them. If I pack them in my purse I remember to take them before I get on the plane. I hope your DH gets those antibiotics! I married one of those, too!

Have a wonderful trip Dismom!
Debbie
