I got my card from SPG a couple of weeks after I signed up. YOu may want to ask for a replacement card. YOu can do that on the website.
I don't know about a 'discount' with the card, I just know that you accumulate points with it good for free nights, upgrades etc. THe benefits are also listed on the website.

I know nothing about AARP. HOpefully, someone else will.

Have a great time!!
Cathy

Thanks to all for the good thoughts.

Cathy- we have a 97 Olds Aurora. The funny thing is that I was completely sick of my car before the accident. Even though we take exteme care to keep it in good shape, I thought it was old and I couldn't WAIT to get into a new car (actually I want a Yukon SUV). However, since I have been staying home with the kids and we have a ridiculously expensive hobby (racing) money is tight.

Now, after the accident and seeing how well that car protected us I LOVE IT! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: It takes a licking and keeps on ticking...I would be proud to drive it for a few more years if necessary.

By the way the other drivers Ford Thunderbird looked just awful and I think she had to get it towed away...extensive front end damage.

About fruity drinks at the Swan/Dolphin:teeth: ?

Is there a special signature drink to try? Like one that comes with a souvineer glass or something? We got such a drink at the Universal Royal Pacific hotel and we still use the hurricane style glass with logo to have fruity tropical drinks at home. I would love one with a Swan/Dolphin logo!

(snowman added for those in the frozen north!)...^_^

Waving to the room.... I am still trying to get through 16 days of wash for the 7 of us... etc. I am in lurk mode.....:) I hope everyone has a good St. Patricks Day :wave2:

Debbie,
Yes, I think I would hang on to that old girl! She done you proud!! I love the SUVs as well, but man, you can't beat safety!

We had that ridiculously expensive hobby once upon a time ;) but DH had to give it up when we moved to our dream country home. now he does radio controlled airplanes:rolleyes: I do lots of things.....:hyper:

Take care. I don't know if there is a 'house' specialty drink or not, I am pretty partial to strawberry daquaris and pina colodas (and alcohol free is fine with me)

Won't be long now... snow is melting here, but it is only 40 degrees................. burrrrrr

Cathy

Corned beef is now simmering on the stove, and the delectible smells are wafting through the house! Mmmmm...this is one of my all-time FAV holidays! ::yes::

*Dismom~Ouch! A deep tissue massage which leaves you "sore" for two days, was NOT properly administered. :( The Deep tissue is one of my favorites, but MUST be given by an EXPERT!! They leave me feeling woozy and relaxed, never...ever..."sore." It is very easy to injure muscle tissue while giving a massage, so it is extremely important to immediately let the masseuse know if you feel any "pain or pinching" during the treatment. ;) Your comments regarding my DF's medical dilemma are appreciated. ^_^

paras4ri~At least your DH is shoveling! :hyper: Thanks for the kind wishes for my DF. Mmmm...mimosa...one of my FAV morning (Brunch) bevs!

crz4mm2~Thanks for all the info and reassurance! My DF is in astounding condition for his age, and walks (briskly) an average of 4 miles each day. He and my mother both appear about 10-15 years younger than their age reflects. My DF has had some heart-related surgical procedures (there's no escaping heredity in these matters), and detests surgery of any kind (who doesn't?). I'll pass along the info regarding the swelling/size of the organ, etc. (w/regards to LAP surgery). ::yes:: Again, I appreciate your professional information!

liltoot~Yes, as mouseteacher posted, the Swan is a few "feet" closer to the BW, Epcot and MGM. I would definitely follow Cathy's advice and request a replacement SPG card on the website. As for the AARP...I have no idea (yet). Hopefully, someday (with the Grace of God), I'll too...be a proud member of this organization! No need to apologize for the questions. I LOVE answering any/all of them (If I'm able to offer any constructive information/advice). Hope this helps.

Debbie~Whew...thank goodness for your sturdy Aurora & guardian Angels! I drive sports cars, and SUV's...and not one is any safer than the other (IMHO). I just believe it depends on the circumstances of the mishap. Thankfully, you are all okay...and the car is still drivable. Yes...RACING is VERY EXPENSIVE. We have friends whom "DRAG" here in the Cailf desert...and the cost is nearly unfathomable! I can imagine the output of $$$ into that beautiful car your DH races. Hopefully, there is PRIZE $$$ to be gained somewhere...down the line (?...yes??). It's always nice to have your eye on a prize...even with a hobby.

I'm not aware of any special glass at the WDW Dolphin, although I do have MANY of the candy jars with the insignia! I also have the DCL and the Rainforest Cafe FANCY (hurricane) glasses. It's like a trip down memory lane, when I enjoy a frozen cocktail from one of these glasses. :teeth:

MOM POPPINS~I do NOT envy you one bit! Laundry is a nemesis of mine...one of my LEAST favorite things to do. Have FUN!! :goodvibes:

**I think it's time to take down my FORMAL Christmas tree! I plan to do it this weekend. I light it each eve, and enjoy the glow and twinkle of all the white lights. It's just so festive. I thought I was the only one who ever did such a thing (kept a tree up so long). YET...my neighbor just took hers down last weekend!! (LOL). So, I have close company. :p

Enjoy the day!!

LUCK of the IRISH to YOU!!

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

DF99- what time do we eat? ;) ;)
Sounds like your DF is in fabulous shape. I don't blame him for not wanting any kind of surgery, but, if he felt as bad as most people with Gallbladder attacks do, he should welcome the relief!!

I plan to take my sorority mug and drink out of it :teeth: :teeth: doesn't really matter what is in it does it?

Cathy

I think the S/D should definitely develop such a drink w/glass. Ours from the Royal Pacific was hurricane shaped but made of plastic so we didn't have to worry about breakage on the trip home. I do enjoy using it at home.

I wonder what they could call the drink? I have a really good fruity drink recipe they could use. It is one of the best I have ever tasted!

DH did win some money this past weekend to help us cover our insurance deductible. Thank heavens we still carried full coverage on my car even though it's old! Now if he can win some National Events then we are starting to get into some serious cash.:earseek:

ACK! How scary that must have been, Debbie! Congrats on your daughter and her competition, too! We have a kid who's parents own a motorcycle racing team, so between you and them I am learning a ton about the race circuit and what it entails! Thanks!

DF>> Prayers to your DF. I know someone who went through with the surgury and recovered quickly. I wish I had more to add to make you feel better about the entire process.

crz4mm2>> I grew up on an "airplane" field! Dad still flies a bit, but he has added many new hobbies to his life and doesn't seem to find time for all of them, even with early retirement! LOL

The swan/dolphin distance questions remind me of DH and I walking back from the boardwalk, to hear DD up on the balcony screaming down to me to stop waving like a maniac, she'd seen us and was trying to ignore us! LOL We had the outside top right balcony room as you're coming from the boardwalk/epcot bridge. I miss DISNEY!

Lou>> stop watch on... and its not moving quick enough!

A giant room wave to everyone! Please excuse the chicken and rice cooking on the stove, as I forgot it was St. Patrick's day when planning the week's meals! I am sure DF cooked enough virtual corned beef and cabbage for the room! :)

YES...most CERTAINLY! Just grab a fork and pull-up a chair. :teeth: Also, I cooked (again), Peanut butter (crunchy) and chocolate fudge brownies...with festive GREEN cupcakes & clover Frosting for dessert!! Everything looks and smells yummy! Y'all are welcome at my table anytime. :grouphug:

Happy Holiday!

Who said Pina Coladas!!!!MMMMMMMMMMM! I am SO READY!

Virgin Pina Colada was my afternoon fruity beverage of choice while at the Swan last July.

*dreaming* - lounge chair under the palm tree by the quiet pool nearest the cabanna bar - book ready to read, a quick dip to cool off, ahhhhhhhh - relaxation at its finest.

Back to reality --- 8" of new snow on the ground here with another 1-2" expected overnight and another storm arriving Friday morning. :(

DF~ we'll be over shortly for dinner, thank you. DH is 100% Irish heritage and I am not -- he would really enjoy your Irish meal. :teeth:

First I had to rescue us from page 2~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Shame! Shame! Shame!!!

Just wanted to tell MomP that I love that new photo!!!!

I think a signature drink (like Pat O'B's in NO or on Citywalk) for S/D is a great idea. We got SwanDolphin to get those reuseable mugs......Now we need to develop a drink!!!

We had a good drink at the ESPN club in Atlanta. Very fruity w/about 3 kinds of alcohol. Not sure what it was called. After one of those, I couldn't remember. Also Bahama Breeze on I-Drive has a great drink too - really potent. Problem is the last time I was at BB (in Birmingham) I could not remember the name either and I ordered the wrong thing or else they didn't do it at that one.

I have been working so hard I haven't been back to see yall.

The really bad thing is I have been to WDW for 3 days to help on product and promotional distribution---but---I went without the mickey chaser (DW) and my boys. Honestly -- I never saw the parks --but tell them that, they think I was having fun.!

This year we have been paying off my debt, but I am still an S & D guy.

Do you girls still love me?

 You betcha, RobMax.

I want to read that article when I have time. IQ scores in realtionship to real world/school performance is an interest of mine, too. When I do finish the read, I'll prpbably PM you. Thanks, Glenn.

:wave2: Have a great day, sorority!

Does anyone know if they still provide complimentary Perrier water in your room if you are in a club level room?:D
