*TO GET THERE...GO DOWN to the bottom of THE ESCALATORS, MAKE A "RIGHT" AND GO PAST THE DOLPHIN FOUNTAIN restaurant, MAKE ANOTHER "RIGHT" AND THEN YOU WALK TO THE END OF THE HALL(dead-end & wall)...MAKE ANOTHER "RIGHT" IN THROUGH THE GLASS DOORS OF "SUM CHOWS" (IF YOU MADE A "LEFT" HERE...YOU WOULD END UP AT TUBBI'S!). Everyone got this? BTW...SUM CHOWS has FAB chinese fare! (MMMmmmm).

well, knock me over with a feather......I had no idea that was there. Thankfully, I know right where it is :)

Not a PITA to find, but it could be a PITA to carry breakfast back to the room.....

Just a look at the way things were...

I love the NEW look...but will always hold a special place in my heart for the kooky pineapples and colorfully whimsical decor. I'm such a SAP!! XO

Good evening!!!

Life hasn't allowed me much time to visit here this week....hopefully that will be changing soon!

DF99 - I have a question about the "after" pictures you posted. I've seen them posted before and wondered how they could be pictures of the Dolphin.....since you can see the Dolphin out the window????

Hope everyone is well! :D

My DH and I were just discussing the same thing. We can see where club level is located and we can even point out our rooms to the right of the triangle floor 14. I hope everyone is having a great evening... :wave2:

BTW ~ I have walked by "Sum Chows" a 100 times and never took notice it was even there.... :) I did not know the Dolphin had Chinese food... I love Chinese... :)

Morning!!!!

I posted this on the resorts board but would appreciate any info from the experts here too! We curently have 4-day Park Hoppers and are wondering about adding another day. Would the cost simply be the difference between 4 and 5 day hoppers? (UPH would be ideal but I think the cost would be beyond our budget) Can we add days at the Dolphin or only at Guest Services?

Also, is there a Guest Services at the International Gateway entrance of Epcot, or only at the main entrance? DS is now an adult in Disney's eyes and we need to have remaining days on an old Park Hopper changed from child to adult!

Thanks and have a great day everyone!!!

Hi, Gail!

I think I can answer some if not all of your questions... there is a Guest Relations desk at both the International Gateway and the Front of Epcot. If approaching the Front of Epcot, Guest Relations is to the far right just before the turnstiles. Guest Relations for the International Gateway is on the left of the turnstiles (I believe)... I usually use the one at the front of the park! LOL! What you say makes sense about adding a day to your 4 day Park Hoppers... it should just be the difference between 4 and 5 day.

Hope you have a great time!

Those must be pictures of the Swan, then!! Right?? YouknowIamasecretagent!

PS Thanks for posting them Dreamflight... they are beautiful, no matter if Swan or Dolphin! We love them both!

I told Scotty the same thing last night! well, everything but the part about loving Chinese food:scratchin

Gail...upgrading at the International Gateway is easy, easy! I did our tickets there last fall :)

Good morning All,

Tired (still walking) but happy. The weather is beautiful-80's. Watched Illuminations from our balcony Thursday night while eating Kimono's (from the Swan) take out-great sushi. It was so good DD and I had it again last night after Epcot and the boardwalk. The boardwalk was in full swing. Many more entertainers than I remember last year. Tiramisu from the Boardwalk Bakery... need I say more?? ;)

And now I understand the raving about the oatmeal soap, as heavenly as the beds.

More later, DD want to get to the parks- :wave2:

:wave2: Happy Saturday to all!
Well I finally am able to access the boards again! Maybe my interent provider problem but it just seems to effect my ability to get on here (especially at evening times):(

Anyway...DF: great pics - they have me doing my happy Dolphin dance:jumping1: Which has my 14 yr old DS doing the  eye roll "teenage" thing! Life is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;)

So I called to see how "babyish" the Easter baskets were and had a great conversation with the recreation CM. He said the Dolphin is at 105% occupancy during the Easter Holiday this year with 90% of the ressies being families. So much for all the suits:earseek: ! I am wondering what 105% means though:scratchin

In the final analysis, I decided the baskets seems too young for my kiddos but a good deal for those with little ones! $40 for a great basket w/ a plush bunny assorted candy and toys delivered by the "big guy" himself!

Off to have my hair done and have my roots made Blonde once more!:smooth:

What the heck does that mean???? How can you be above occupancy????? Does this mean they are overbooked and some people won't get a room they have already reserved??? Oh dear, I am now quite worried.....

Only 20 days to go. Can't wait. Fruity drinks by the pool.

Cathy

crz4mm2- well funny you thought that because those were my exact words and he said that it had to do with occupancy of the suites?
I was assured that if you have a confirmed ressie you are fine!

...Notice, Gail~I NEVER wrote "DOLPHIN" in the text....but merely "THE WAY THINGS WERE." ~(LOL)!! OF COUSRE the pics are of the renovated SWAN!?!? (What else would they be? Faux backdrops to make one BELIEVE they are of the Swan?!?) But, since both resorts are getting similar makeovers...I just wanted to point out the contrast between the past....and the present~! :teeth:

Dismom63~:wave2: How cute!! (The "eye-roll" thing over the sister's dance of JOY!!). You are certainly a very caring mom, taking the time to call the resort and obtain details on the Easter Baskets. I've also heard they are VERY nice baskets with loads of treats and cute toys. (Go easy on the BLEACH at the hairdressers...you would not want to lose any of that sensibility! :teeth: )

*As for the occupancy rate: It is PRECISELY about the suites. Most conventions book ALL the suites on subsequent floors, as they only need to provide one deposit to hold all the ressies! Then, they await occupancy by way of confirmations through these groups, dropping any unoccupied suites back into the reservation system the weekend of the arriving group! So...I'm sure they will be FULL at this time, but never OUT OF ROOMS! (After all, they always HOLD a # of rooms for emergencies and PLATINUM guests, such as myself. Since there are NO black-outs, and they MUST have a room available, and they insure availability for these situations). ::yes::

tink44~ HELLO!!
Sounds as if you have discovered the SECRET of Kimono's! We ALL Love the Sushi from this restaurant, and also enjoy it in our room (they do FAB, FRESH Take-out!). You have me wanting some RIGHT NOW! :hyper:
Also...Tiramisu from the BW bakery is "to die for" in my estimation. It is SOoooo perfectly creamy, with the flavors BURSTING with each bite. Less than four-months now...and I'll be there to taste it myself!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to post from INSIDE the MAGIC! Have fun in the parks with your DD. Enjoy! :goodvibes:

With regards to hoppers and AP's~Since we only buy a PAP once every two years, (and use it twice), DD also changed from a child to an adult during one summer. On our next visit, I went to guest services to "upgrade" her pass to an "adult" version...and pay the difference. She informed me it was "not necessary," and permitted us to maintain the child ticket since it was purchased for one year at the TIME she was a child! We experienced NO trouble using it...and it saved me some $$$. So, be sure to check and see if this is the same with the hopper Disbug. Since it was originally purchased when DS was technically a "child" he may be able to use it without incident. I must agree though...it is BETTER to check first, than experience possible "embarrassing" problems at the park gate/entrance! ;)
BTW...this is THE year we must buy PAP's again! I'm going to buy them on the WDW website (advance purchase) to save about $20 each! Since the Disney Club bit the bullet last Dec., its the only discount I have found. So...if anyone else is considering AP's or PAP's...be sure to buy them in advance of your WDW visit.

MOM POPPINS~Your picture is LOVELY! Hard to believe your DD (to your left in the pic) is as TALL as you! Wow. Everyone is taller, and looks a little older (with the exception of you and DH!!!). Baby Kirk is the cutest little bundle. You have such a lovely family, and I LOVE the "RED" Disney shirts! BTW...you have the most beautiful & healthy skin tone. It almost appears to be a "summer tan/glow" in the midst of late winter/early spring! Everyone looks 100%+ healthy and happy. Thanks again, for posting it so promptly. Now...any MORE pics?!

*Time to go SWIMMING!! It's been in the high 80's here, even low 90's! The pool is crystal clear and WARM.

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

DF - check out the PAP prices at your local disney store. I could be wrong, but I don't think there is any prepurchase discount when buying them through the website. (the prices on the website are before taxes...........totals appear when you put them in your cart)

marymrg~Great idea! I have been at a loss as to where to obtain even a "slight" discount on this purchase. It appears there may be NONE available...now the DC is extinct! I loved the DC discount...and used it regularly at the Dolphin for the 20% discount on all food and bev in restaurants (aside from Shula's, etc.). It all added up to substantial savings! I wonder if they are now accepting the Disney Visa card for the same type of discount? Anyone know if SWANDOLPHIN is honoring a comparable discount using some other card/club?

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

:wave2: Good afternoon, all! I, too, have been having problems with the Boards. It happens around the 5:00 - 6:00 pm time slot. And just before they go down, it is extremely slow. All is okay now, though!

80 and swimming, DF?! :D Lucky you - I just made a beef stew of which the luscious smell is filling the house. Beef stew for a still winter temp day here in Boston.

I do love the look of the renovated rooms and the beds are "heavenly".

I cant wait till July!! The new rooms look wonderful and I have
slept on a heavenly bed before and they are super...

thanks for the photos.:wave2:

Happy Saturday everyone - after catching up on 9 pages of reading, all i can say is wow, i have missed alot!
Had the most wonderful trip with my students from the 8th-13th. This was the best group ever- it was a success all the way around!

DF - hope that your dad is doing better - when does he have the surgery scheduled for?

MomPoppins - what a fantastic new family picture. Can not believe what a difference since the last family shot. They have grown up so....and baby Kirk is adorable!

Finally, is it possible that snow is melting...again? Looks so strange because our lawn is now bare but the neighbors across the street is filled with that white stuff. On days like this, I love southern exposure.

My best friend and her family will be at the Dolphin at the end of the month- their first time there. They have rooms on the 16th floor facing the Swan - so says the front desk. They are excited!

Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. Caroline :teacher:

DF, I think the only discount for PAP's is the renewal discount. Let us know if you find some other type of discount!

Mouseteacher, beef stew sounds great on this cold snowy first day of spring!

MomPoppins, I love your new pic too! Your family has grown! Post more if you get a chance! We LOVE pictures of WDW and S/D!
