Dismom63. When and where? We do not have all plans finalized yet, as far as PS and what park which day is concerned. I do know we are doing the Luau on Sat night (4/10). We have PS for Epcot on sunday night for Easter. The rest of the week is pretty up in the air right now. We do plan on doing Sea WOrld one day (just don't know which day).
Can't wait....

I have had the same problem this trip--it is very frustrating!!! I have all but 2 nights booked at the government rate and I can't get the other 2 (right in the middle, too) nights at a discount. it is making me crazy! I can't understand why I just can't have the same rate for all the nights....I keep checking and checking, hopefully something will open up. Have you checked Dreams Unlimited? Maybe they have discounted rooms available.

I don't know what Gold status get you, other than a loate check-out and maybe an upgrade. I'm Gold, but have only really taken advantage of the late checkout. I'm sure someone else knows, LOL....

I arrive the Tuesday AFTER Easter, but currently my reservations are at AKL! I have no idea what schedule we have. All I have in stone are our sunrise safari reservations.

I called the Dolphin direct and got my last night. The only problem is that it's not the teacher rate. It's $199 instead of $149 but she said it can be modified if the rate opens up again for that one night. I guess I'll just keep checking.

What would be considered an upgrade from the standard teacher rate room? I applied and got approved for the SPG Amex so I should have at least 1,000 points per night by then. I'm just not sure what I should be asking for when I request the upgrade. Help!

crz4mm2, we have a Discovery Cove day on 4/13 that is set in stone and some dining Ps's but short of that...

Maybe meet up at a spot on the boardwalk or right at the Dolphin/Swan?

Anyone else up for a mini meet? Maybe a fruity drink at the Grotto pool?

Deb, you're getting as bad as me! LOL! (Gotta use those AP's.... LOVE 'EM!) Glad to see you are getting another visit with the safari crowd!

We are going again the first weekend of April... so we'll miss you by a week! Have fun... you're doing something that is "on my list" to try!

madge and joanne... both of you, too? What is it about that place that calls to us? LOL! Who cares... ya just gotta go! DD9 and I just got back this weekend. She was lamenting on the drive down on how many times we had been to WDW and I asked if it was boring.... she couldn't answer. After a GREAT weekend I asked her on the way home if it was "way fun"... and she said "YES" emphatically and reminisced about some of our family traditions there. We never do the same thing twice and there are SO MANY things to do~ I can't imagine someone being bored! (*If they are they're not doing it right!!) LOL!

I booked my room through the Dolphin, and they were sold out of discounts...then I checked DU and they had discounts for some of my nights, even nights the Dolphin had nothing available.

I think 1000 points will get you a balcony or maybe a CL upgrade. I'm sure DF will know for sure

We are expecting a big snowstorm here tomorrow too ... are you anywhere near Buffalo by any chance? That is where I live.

I will be in WDW April 4-11. I'm sorry I glossed over the dates you will be there ... any of our dates jive to meet for the drinks at the Grotto pool? I would love it. I'll be staying at Vistana this time but we visit the Dolphin often on our trips ... for the Blue Zoo this time and Camp Dolphin for my DD6. She LOVES it!!!

I am hoping to make a part of Disbug's wonderfully organized meet this summer, but I won't know for sure until April 4th.

The snow will mostly miss us! Winter won't leave, but I will be glad not to be in the snow when I drive the double hockey practices tonight! Drive safely, all you New Englanders! If you make a detour to Michigan I'll meet you on I-75 and drive down with you!

Joanne, I don't know what points will get you, but to your other question I would decide what view you want, or if you want a balcony and ask for an upgrade based on that. Sorry I am not much help!

Well I am home from school today with my DD who has a viral "thingy"...fever, body aches, but no other localized symptoms yet.

We are due to get 18" of snow today kids are happy but I have had enough!!!

So we know the what and where: Fruity drinks in the warm WDW sun by the Grotto Pool so now we can just work on when...

KelliR- I feel guilty complaining about snow if you are from Buffalo! No I am not near you - Albany/Saratoga region- but we NYers are a hardy bunch!

Don't feel bad ... Buffalo has had a fairly easy winter this year. So many areas have been hit much harder.

Hope your patient recovers quickly! Give her lots of TLC.

Well, my DM & DF are both back from Florida. It was the coldest visit they could recall, rainy too. Both were stricken ill with bad flu's upon arrival, and actually had to visit an ER to obtain Antibiotics. (Yes...they always get flu shots, but as you RN's know, some of the strains are resistant). Also, my DF was taken ill again before they left for home. A Doc in Melbourne wanted to "operate" on him, but he said no. He wanted to wait until he was home. Apparently, his gallbladder needs to be removed. It caused him excruciating pain (he has a very high-tolerance/threshold), and he had bile backing up into his mouth (frequently). Sorry for the unpleasant details. I just wish to offer as much info as possible for you wonderful RN's, in hopes of obtaining some professional perspective/opinions.

His doc at home agrees, he must have an op to remove the GB. Is this a risky op? He's 74, and has had some heart op's, and does not wish to have any more. I've read this procedure can now be performed via LAP. Is anyone familiar with this? Any/All your assistance is greatly appreciated.

mouseteacher~thought of you last eve, as I watched a special on the MODERN PASTRY SHOP in the north (Italian) section of Boston.

They have a specialty known as the LOBSTER TAIL, a puffy pastry filled with custard/whip cream! I recall enjoying this with my DM when we resided in Bean town. Mmmm...it IS SO delicious! I vote you bring some samples of this specialty with you on your DISmeet to the Dolphin (this summa). I'll be awaiting mine with a cup of creamy espresso...sitting in your lounger by the slide/Grotto pool~! (LOL).
