Oh, What a lovely mug! I just have to tell everyone that my sorority mug is one of my favorites! Even DH knows I prefer my weekend coffee in it rather than a different mug! He thinks I am Disney crazy... but he does still bring me coffee on Saturday morning!

PS Love the machine! Oh, perhaps I should remember that for a Christmas present! I will go research and add it to the Christmas list that usually is never started till someone presses me for ideas the week before Christmas!

Does anyone know if y ou can upgrade a "standard" room to CL with just 1000 points? I have to do some rearranging with my dates/hotels since I added the Poly in, so I would like to know what level to get in order to use points for the CL access for two of the days. If not, I'll go for the view and/or balcony upgrade and send Thabo secret thankyou notes for our last trip through the front desk! LOL

okay, Gail -- here is my humble $.02 - I really enjoyed the breakfast time - it was convenient as we were on the CL floor (12) and I found it relaxing in the early morning (remember I received this as a comp). It was great since the 4 of us got up at varying times and it gave us a place to gather in the morning (2 late teen DSs) - DBro and his family were with us, too. However, we were never around to use it for the afternoon offerings. With that said, I guess I wouldn't pay to use CL since we really wouldn't make full use of it. I would consider using points, though.

Thanks for the reply about discounts over Christmas and New Years. I will keep checking this board. It does seem strange that they are so late with these. I have only recently been on the resort board again although I'm usually on the Dis boarrd somewhere....... What ever happened to Mr. Swan/ Dolphin. Does he ever post anymore? I missed meeting him awhile ago in the Summer when there was a Dis Swan/ Dolphin meeting. Thanks

Thanks - that's just the feedback I'm looking for. I really, really hope to get a balcony so anything else would just be icing on the cake. I've got the points but we may just hold onto them for a future stay!

Looks like the last time SD posted was at the end of January. So he still watches over us!!! That one was on the community board stating that the same beds were in both S & D for consistency between the resorts.

I did speak with him very briefly via email about 3 weeks or so ago. So he's still there somewhere!!!

I believe he is largely responsible for the wonderful discount programs that are available to everyone and we should always be grateful for that! We know he is responsible for the refillable mugs!!! (After we nagged him for awhile on here).

Sorry I wasn't really around yesterday... We had to put our family dog to sleep.. We knew she had cancer, and the night before last began having seizures... She was 13 and really part of the family...

I need some serious cheering up here... Too bad I couldn't celebrate my 31st birthday tomorrow at the Dolphin....

Just got an e mail special from spg - rates from $79 through to July 24. The Swan is one of the resorts. Need to book for a Thurs. Fri. Sat. stay and you can stay as long as you like. The Swan was showing for July rates from $119 to $169.

So nice to hear Swan/Dolphin is still around these boards. I couldn't believe I missed meeting with him last time. He was so kind as to leave a message on my phone at the Dolphin. I love this resort and I know he is responsible for many of the things we enjoy there

Hi all,

We are booking 2 free nights using Starpoints on March 2nd and 3rd, 2005.

I've tried all the Starwood promos and tips that I could find searching the boards but none seem to be available for the following nights (March 4,5,6).

At this point it looks like the best rate I can find is $305/night via spg.com or AAA. That seems high to me, even given the time of year.

I've spent a couple hours going through the boards but I thought I'd throw myself on the mercy of the group and see if anyone has any ideas.

{{{HUGS}}} SO sorry for your loss. Having lost our sweet dog, Mac, 5 weeks ago today, I know how difficult this can be on a "family." Most all the Swan/Dolphin fans posting here (sisters..brothers...friends) are all DOG-LOVERS, and consider them part of the family as well. We have had discussions, and posted photos of our canine pals. My heart goes out to you, during this very trying time. Remember all the good times, and think of how "wonderful" you made her life during the past 13 years, and vice-versa. You are in my thoughts and prayers. XO Happy Birthday!

It is also self-cleaning (I dropped a tablet in last eve...and it went through the 20-minute cleaning process), which makes me LOVE it all the more. My convection ovens are all self-cleaning too. Now...if only my FRIDGE was self-cleaning! LOL... YES, I do believe CL is upgradable for 1000 pts. (from a standard room). Oh, I LOVE the Poly CL! Lucky you!!

The rack rate for those nights is $365. Any of the special rates I've tried (buy 50% off for 1,000 points, AAA $186 rates) are not available for those dates. I'm not an AP holder and don't have the Entertainment book. I'd certainly buy the book if I thought those dates would be available, but they say there are blackout dates (given that it's winter vaca week my guess is that they'd be blacked out, but I could be wrong).

I was speaking with SPG. I'll try the resort directly after work tonight.

DF~oops- I am not using the spg special - I am using the teacher rate. However, I thought the info might help others. Also, you are so right about canine children. My Reilly brings such unconditional love and joy to our family. I actually have a hard time leaving her to go to WDW (- oldest DS is babysitting). I just cannot kennel her - I hire a petsitter when family is not available to help.

I have heard about Mr. Swandolphin on these boards throughout my years here but have seen him post infrequently. If he is the one responsible for the teacher rate, I am truly grateful for his efforts in making these resorts affordable for us! So, thanks, Mr. Swandolphin!

Good Afternoon everyone!
I love the Passporter and Birnbaums Guide too. Don't forget Tour Guide Mike! I used TGM for the first time this pass Christmas and it was full of info for WDW vets and newbies! He gets the scoop first and passes it on, although his site takes a while to navigate. We will be staying at the Swan in Feb 2005 for our next visit. This will be our first Christmas w/o a disney visit in a long time! DD will be in high school and Feb. works out best. I'm counting down the days but not rushing it. Gotta love New England summers!

DD is in Washington DC with her 8th grade class this week. Unfortunatly she came down with something as soon as she arrived in DC and missed one day of activities. This house is lonely/quiet while DD is away. I've spruced up her room and I'm waiting for friday when she returns! Then she has her semi formal 8th grade dinner dance and graduation in a few weeks! Where did the time go?
