bard721 ~ From the wife of a fellow philosophy (& history) professor, THANKS! It worked for me just as you said. I called the 888 number, gave our spg #, was asked what promotion I was interested in, told her 213, she typed it in (I think) and said "OK". Wow, that was easy. Who said philosphy is useless :teeth:?

bard271 ~ Thanks for the information, I called and also got registered :)

fam4jc ~ I would go to the www.swandolphin.com and check for availability of government rates of 149$ for your dates. My kiddos love the Dolphin and the pool area is fantastic.

I can hear the Dolphin calling me back.... I wished I was there right now! I emailed today with our requested view for our junior suite. I am anxious to see the new decor in the rooms. I have a long wait and will enjoy hearing about all your upcoming trips to WDW!

Our trip to San Antonio is coming up soon :hyper: We will be at La Cantera, another Westin resort and the Hyatt Hill Country Resort, both of these resorts are outstanding. We will be going to Sea World and relaxing at the resorts. Both resorts have club level, wonderful pool areas and free childrens activities all day long. The Hyatt has movie on the lawn on Friday nights and everynight they cook smores by the pool area. It's not WDW :) but it's a favorite vacation spot for our family... :) The Hyatt was on the travel channel recently in the top 10 family resorts in North America.. :)

Waving to the room  Have a great weekend!

Well all you Starwood members here is some good news for a Friday! Like many of you that posted I clicked on the link to register for the five nights 5000 points promo and got the screen that said I did not qualify. I am a philosophy prof and today put some of those critical thinking skills to work. I clicked on the terms and conditions on the registration page and found a toll free number that claimed by calling and asking for a specific promortion code I would be registered. I called a few minutes ago gave the code and I am registered. Don't always assume that getting one no answer is the end of the situation.
Call 1-888-625-4988
Ask for registration code 213
As if this is not enough to make Friday great, I turn in my final grades for the semester at noon! Summer vacation here I come.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
LOL...I did the SAME thing yesterday, after posting. I went back to the site, and checked around (investigative skills), before locating the pop-up window with the above-mentioned phone number and code! I'm IN too!! I failed to come back after, and post my success story. KUDOS to you, for posting the info. ;)

*ALSO...check~out these SPG offers~!

Hi S/D Lovers!

Sorry I have been just lurking, but I have been following everyones news and views. So sorry to all who have had difficult times as of late. I hope the storm clouds are passing!

I also apologize to all the teachers out there for bad behaivor of students and their parents! Be assured there are many parents out here who support your efforts. In fact, in my little district, this is more the norm, thank goodness!

Many of you were very supportive when my trip had to be postponed last March. Right now, we are still good to go here for our June trip. My car air conditioner(we are driving to WDW) is a little possessed here of late so if it is not too trivial maybe some PixieDust is in order? I know...I know PD for the car?? But really, can you imagine an 18 hour drive with three kids in a car with NO AC?

Our summer is starting off with swimming lessons for two solid weeks before we leave for FL. Hopefully, DS (almost 6) will be swimming his way off the pool slide this time!:hyper:

Hi Debbie 7452 ~ We'll be at the Swan at the same time you are! I'll have lime green on in some form (the rest of my family might not play along:p ). Be sure to say hi if you see me!:wave2:

Here's hoping you have a cool car in which to travel:goodvibes :genie: :cool1::wizard:

Debbie7452~ PD comin' at ya ****************************************************
and I am so happy your trip is back on. Also, you are so right about parents. 99% of them at my school are but the 1% who aren't are so vocal and so volatile that they take over - the old adage "the squeaky wheel..." ::yes::

Paras4ri (Gail)~ What do you think about the Boston DIS meet? Sounds like fun!

Well, I'm getting excited now. I only have 23 days left till our trip to the Dolphin. I can't wait. I been reading around here and thanks for all the information that you post. It really is helpful.

Hello to alll!!

I've been off and on lurking for a while now. I hope everyone is doing well!

Mouseteacher~A Boston DISmeet?? Count me in please!!
I would love to meet all of you.

I'd love to go but not sure it will be possible. We may be in playoffs with both kids on either weekend.
:( for missing a meet but :D for playoffs!
Once the date is decided I'll see if it works for us. How about you?

If there are other New Englander's here who would like the scoop, here's the link.

Hi Everyone! I'm going to WL in 21 days:sunny: but am trying to plan a trip for early December. I've been lurking ( ) through the S/D posts and it has intrigued me. My DH is a cop, so we can get a good rate (I think). So my question is which resort to choose for 2 adults and 2 DD's (5&7)? The current plan is a four night stay.

How much would this trip cost us? We could use ph plus tickets or even just park hopper.

I wonder if room availability will be a problem?

Hi!

Right now there are govt/teacher/nurse rates available from Dec 12 - Dec 23 ... by mid-June other December dates may also open up. Conventions can affect availability, but early December is typically not a busy time of the year for WDW.

Since we've not stayed at the S-D yet, I can't provide any personal input about staying at the Swan vrs the Dolphin. Lots of the posters here like the Dolphin better when traveling with kids.

Since you'll be making a few trips within a short period of time, you may be able to save some money by purchasing annual passes. I think that I've read somewhere on the budget boards that the breakeven point for Annual Passes is about 8 days when compared to Park Hopper Plus.

Have a great stay at the WL!

::yes:: Yup, thanks I followed the advice and I am now registered!!

I'm sorry that the link didn't work for anyone, but I'm glad I shared the details of the promo and so many can take advantage :wave2:

2 more weeks and we'll be back at the Swan!!

The Dolphin vs. Swan is just a matter of choice by each person. I prefer the Swan as it is cozier (800 rooms - cozy - yeah right). The Dolphin is too overwhelming to me. Even thou we are walking across to get to Tubbis & laundry, it is so close that doesn't even bother me.

Swan has Queens & hollywood bath. Dolphin has oversized doubles (almost the same as a queen).

Hi Everyone!

After a couple of days of depression , 1/2 bag of chocolate, and DH saying let's plan to go to WDW for Christmas 2005 I am on the upswing! I was so ready to visit "My hotel"! Darn confernece people!

Anyhow....
Who has spent Christmas at the Dolphin? What is it like?! Although it is many many days away my little brain is already churning!

Hope you are all having a great day!

I have spent a few Christmases there and would not go anywhere else. It is so beautiful in the Dolphin. they have this huge tree in the middle all decked with lights and decorations. They have a train that goes around the Christams tree that is filled with presents. Nightly they have a laser and music show which is so neat and the kids will truly enjoy it.

The best part is just sitting in the lobby adoring the decorations while the Piano Man is playing music.
::MinnieMo ::yes::

I have stayed at WDW during Christmas but not at the Dolphin. I was at POFQ. This was during my "prelove of S/D didn't think I would ever stay there" days. LOL However, during our stay we did visit the Dolphin and the tree was beautiful!

*waving* 23 more school days! 23 more school days! 23 more school days! No, not for our vacation... it is more important than that! Take six [school] days away from that and my final grades are due!

Swan v. Dolphin>> We loved the Swan.. now we're staying at the Dolphin! Why? Because it is there! LOL Seriously, we like the adventure too, of trying out a new place, so we figured we'd switch to the Dolphin for this trip! If it was all four of us I think I'd stay at the Swan if only for the hollywood bath set up. Makes it easier to get ready in the morning if there are two huge mirrors with counters near by with separate outlets! I think you'll love either one!

Good news Debbie, on your trip! Have fun during your San Antonio trip, MP!

Big room wave to ALL!
Debbie

here's a stupid question.....if I call Starwood 5 days before the trip to upgrade with points to CL, do I make the call 5 days before check-in day or check-out day? LOL.....

Hi, madge! CHECK IN DAY... would be my call!

Hello everyone! Suffering from Softball tournament exhaustion! DD9's team came in 2nd! YAY! After a long hard fight and a back to back double-header with the same team! DD3 and I gave up about 7 PM and came home (I couldn't stand the stress!) DD9 was playing first base and then got moved to pitcher to give the pitcher's arm a rest! WOW~ what a great game and so proud to see the sportsmanship and comraderie displayed! Even after we had several plays where the umps weren't paying attention at our expense! Oh well, lol! It was a great day!

Had a chance to stay at OKW in a 1 Bedroom Villa for 1 week for $395, but didn't go since the kids are still in school for one more week! LOL! But I sure was TEMPTED! :hyper:

Night all!

I have the same situation as Madge. I want to ask for a complimentary room upgrade because I am now SPG Gold (thanks to DF's advice!) Is it too much to ask for CL access at the same time? I have enough points for CL but I wondered what people's experiences have been at asking for both a room upgrade and CL access at the same time. Would I be pushing my luck asking for both??

Thanks,

Joanne
