I've tried PM'ing & e-mailing but I can't reach you so I'll try this...
which model of Capresso super automatic do you have? I've looked on the website but I was curious as to which you have, you raved about it so much! Are you still satisfied with it? I was checking out the "what's new" section of the Capresso website. We close on our new home June 30th and I think this would be a great addition to our kitchen!

And just so I stay on topic ... where would I find the best place for a cup of java at the Swan/Dolphin? Are there any iced or frozen mochas on property? That would be best in those oh-so-warm & muggy Summer months.

HI, Joanne!

Unless something has changed recently.... complimentary Cl access for anything less than Platinum SPG is a thing of the past. I'm hearing room views/locations or balcony requests are about the best you can do! Anyone have a different experience recently?

CL access for gold status - had it comp a year ago but it was only for one night and it was my birthday. I haven't heard of anyone other than platinum receiving it lately.

Disbug - I was supposed to be in Fl for part of this week: yesterday through Wed. (had a super cheap flight) but like you, the kids had too many things going. You and I could've split that week.....................I would've taken the first half, and you the second!! Wahhhhhhhhhhh....How did you find such an opportunity for a 1 bedroom?? My SWA credit will be used at the end of August though...........so my trip was only postponed, not cancelled. I'm still not sure where I'm staying but have at least one free night at the S/D on points if I want. My DS7 says he wants to stay at the place with the red roof.............The Grand Floridian!! YIKES!!

What about if I just used the SPG Gold to request a comlimentary room upgrade and then asked to use points for CL access? Is this possible?

Is it still 1000 points a night for CL access?

Hi, Kelli! On the Capresso website, (products/super automatics/S9), you'll see my machine. I have the Jura-Capresso Impressa S9. It is a little piece of "heaven" for a true coffee afficionado! I'm SURE it would be a fabulous addition to your new kitchen! Here's another pic:

YES...the bartender at the top of the escalator will BLEND you a frozen mocha bev, which tastes pretty good. But, after being spoiled by the espresso (I make my own frozen mochas at home) I use in my bevs, everything else seems to "pale" in comparison. I use starbucks dark roast espresso beans in my machine (presently). I have used the Capresso brand, and they are delicious too. This machine also makes cups of java using ground (as opposed to only whole bean) coffee. I've had mine since Christmas...and the "honeymoon" is still going strong!

jmcross~Your chances are much better using that method! As Disbug posted, they are no longer offering free upgrades to CL. The last person whom asked (& posted the review) stated the CM merely "shook her head no" when she posed the question. At the time, the CM was trying to find this poster the best room/balcony available, so she was looking at the screen when the question was asked. I'm still glad they offer preferred views for the GOLD level. Years ago, when I was gold...it included CL.

sarahsmom73~Sorry to hear the conference people chose another location (rocks in their head!). But...after the choc...and a wonderful DH, you are right back to the planning phase. I have not been to the Dolphin/Swan at Christmas...but have heard it is AMAZING! I've also seen photos which make me TEMPTED to reserve a plane and check it all out in person! Enjoy making the plans...anything I can do to help, just ask.

#1hockeymom~Oh, Debbie! Don't you just LOVE this time of year? 22 days left...now!! You'll LOVE the Dolphin, I'm sure. I enjoy both, but just prefer the Dolphin. Perhaps someday, I'll prefer the Swan. Yet, I would gladly stay at EITHER right now!

Iced mochas>> The candy/vil. store at MGM stopped serving the frozen/slush type mochas. The best iced mocha I bought was actually at the Swan lobby bar! I just told him what I really needed at the time, and they whipped it up for me!

DF>> I wish it were 22 days today, but it seems so far off we (at school) left out the weekend days and are only counting student contact days! It will be here soon... and then in August I'll be begging for a phone call to be called back!

Iced mochas...~Away from the Dolphin/Swan are available in Epcot just past the UK (across from the pin cart...you'll see the little canopied cart...very good smoothies too), and also at the world showcase plaza (just to the left of the hub...on your way to Mexico).

Even BETTER than these...are the ones at the little coffee counter across from the front desk of the CR! Absolutely delish~!

And of course...the old standby....the FOUNTAIN View Espresso & Bakery shop overlooks the fountain of nations in Epcot. They have a wonderful frozen mocha! (And a strawberry smoothie topped with GUMMY bears!).

OR...you can bring your own mix (purchased at Costco)...

Or stop by BARNIES for a treat, and add an extra shot or two for the road! (Purchased at Indian River Mall in VERO, on our way to the DOLPHIN 2003...DH got some diet soda at Chick-fil-A instead!)

jmcross~I'm not sure of the points needed for the CL, since I never have to use any. Someone know of the current points needed for CL? I recall there being a discrepancy between the points charged different guests (1000/1500). I'm sure someone will know!

OH! I forgot I had a question about points! If you use the 1000 upgrade (or whatever the price is now) for CL, do you have to have the highest room level reserved in order to upgrade to CL? Right now I am reserved for CL, but due to sorority scheduling, I think I will drop the first CL day, and maybe the second. I would like to upgrade using points for the third day if possible. I think I might just go with the standard cheaper room, too, in order to save my money for Poly GVC during the last three nights!

Hi, everyone. It has been a busy weekend - school children received First Communion and we are celebrating school pride week so students read essays at each Mass. I spent a good portion of my weekend "on the job" !

Re: upgrades - I am hoping for a balcony room comp upgrade. I've been thinking of using points for CL but want to keep a balcony room. It is my understanding that there are no balcony rooms on CL floors at the Dolphin. Perhaps I can get CL privileges and remain on another floor. I was lucky 2 years ago to get CL comp upgrade for the 2 rooms I booked on teacher rate but I believe that is no longer an option unless you are platinum.

Hi everyone- CL upgrade is 1000 per night if done ahead of time thru SPG, otherwise if done at check-in, they want 1500/nite. I've gone round and round with them about this to no avail. SO certainly try to do it ahead , 5 days prior to check in!!!

I never thought to just ask for a frozen mocha at the bar at the Dolphin ... I will definitely do that the next time ... and try the other spots as well. I've seen the little place at CR and have never tried it.

My Pleasure~!~Hope you go ahead and obtain one of these super coffe centers for your NEW kitchen counter! You will NEVER regret it...and your DH (if he loves coffee too), will be in HEAVEN! It's so compact and stylish yet subtle. Here's a few shots of my S9 on my own counter....notice my COFFEE MUG!!

Mmmm...COFFEE READY~in 43 seconds~!(Filled with four small cups of espresso!)

Notice the two soft blue lights under the spout area. Also, the middle piece slides smoothly up/down to accomodate ANY size cup! Hot water is dispensed for tea, etc., with a turn of the knob to the right. Pure luxury!

I have always been charged 100 points per night for CL access, and I upgrade at the desk. I've done it 3 times in the last year. I honestly think it varies from person to person!

Do you mean "1000?" "100" is a TRUE DEAL! Wish they would offer a PROMO of some type on upgrades, for all the SWAN/DOLPHIN Lovers~!

Given the recent posts I'd appreciate some opinions on CL at the Dolphin. I will have enough points (if the total is 1000 per day) accumulated before our stay in July. My first goal is a room with a balcony but if that's not available but CL is I'm wondering if we'll really utilize it. Would all you experts mind sharing your past experiences, including offerings and hours for the lounge?

Does anyone know why they haven't released their teacher or Ap rates yet beyond December 23d. I am trying to get a room for Dsister. Last year we all stayed at the Dolphin and got the discounted rate. We had our ressies by now. We had a fantastic time and was out third trip to the Dolphin....We love it and I hate to wait too long to book their trip.
Where is Mr.Swan/ Dolphin when you need him

As for our family we love CL! I would ask for the balcony and use points 5 days in advance for CL.. Have fun planning, you will love the location of the Dolphin!
