Glad to hear Kirk Jr. is home........continued prayers for his recovery.

DF - so sorry about Mac. We lost one of our pets about 6 weeks ago and it still hurts. Time and good memories help...........

I said hello to the Dolphin for all of you while on vacation. My DD(14) got to stay there with her friend on Easter Sunday night. She even had a bowl of the famous chicken soup at Tubbi's after they came home from the parks. She said that they didn't feel like sandwiches but when they saw the soup........that was the ticket! She loved the resort.....especially the heavenly bed. When I went to retrieve her late Monday Night, she and her friend were snuggled under the covers watching TV. She said "Mom, try out this bed" I said I already knew how great it was as I had one at the Swan last year.

Kudos to the valet attendant as he let me "double park" at the door for about 15 minutes. He took my keys.......just in case.........but the car was right where I left it. I explained that I was just there to pick up my daughter and it wasn't a problem to leave the car. Also, Kudos to the ticketing desk as my daughter lost her park hopper and they were able to replicate it (luckily I made a copy and gave her the numbers over the phone) She said they told her "don't let it happen again". LOL - so I didn't have to.;)
I really loved the shooting star in the ceiling........DD pointed it out to me...........she's an expert already.

The rest of the trip was fun..........just sad to be back. I'm trying to plan a solo trip for next month..........we'll see how much I went over budget this time. That will determine if I go or not! Afterall, I have SPG points and an AP both burning holes in my pocket!!

Disbug.........July is not a good time for me. I usually take at least one of my kids the last week of Aug. or first week of Sept. But, like all good sorority wannabees...........I have glanced at flights, etc.

Sorry we couldn't hook up on my Pop Century leg (Palm Sunday weekend.) I take it you were busy at Universal. The two younger kids and I managed to do 3 parks on that Saturday. Well ds and I did 3, dd(14) slept in and sunbathed and went with us in the afternoon. The icing on the cake was me in the hot seat at Millionaire! (I only made it to 4000 though as my brain locked on an answer that rhymed with the one that I KNEW was the correct one........with two lifelines to spare......boo hoo) We went to Mass at Mary, Queen on Sunday (11:30) on our way to Vero. I was looking for you there! (dh and ds were now in town - they drove)

We discovered this year though that we like to sandwich our VB trip in between days at Disney. In the past, we ended our trip at Vero.......to kind of unwind. But, we always left feeling.......gee I wish we could go back to WDW. Even though it is crowded at Easter, we love that MK is open until Midnight some nights. We are definitely night people.

This was such an unusual trip for us and our extended family. Our group size ranged from 3 - 9 people at various points with ages from 7 - 75. Most of our gathering was "magical", some parts funny now but didn't seem that way at the time and some were downright hilarious......a la Delswife material. I wouldn't know how/where to begin a trip report. Luckily, dh takes copious notes for his journal so most of the specifics are already recorded, if I ever do.

at the risk of talking to myself, I just had to share a story that my friend told me. When they were at the Dolphin at Christmas, my friend's 2 year old grandson laid down on the "beach towel"/rug in the hallway. They said it was "too cute".

So see, DF - this little guy shares your sentiment when it comes to the Dolphin theming! ::yes::

I'm home!... and just finished catching up on all our news...forget laundry and unpacking, etc. --- DISing and the S/D sorority is more important! :teeth:

I love reading the posts from all those in the World.

MP~I'm so glad that Kirk is home and with his loving family.

DF~keep letting the memories of Mac wash over you and help you heal. Losing my first Airedale was like ripping my heart right of my chest- that's how painful her loss was. But, yes, you were right, we have our second Airedale (who does look like Fozzy Bear or a stuffed animal). Just as her relative before her, she brings such joy to our family. Even though the loss of a dog is so painful, I can't see myself without one.

Disbug~ how are plans going for the soroity meet? I must go over to the "other" thread to find out... :moped:

"I'm literally THRIVING on the LIVE-POSTS from the WDW DOLPHIN!~PLEASE...keep them coming! (They life my spirits, and transport me to another place/time...). :goodvibes

MOM POPPINS~So HAPPY to read the good news about B. Kirk~! Thank you, for the sweet sentiments regarding our loss. XO

marymrg~So sorry to read about your recent loss. :( Please...try to come and see us in JULY! You could stay at the Dolphin this time, and we could all {{HUG}} in PERSON! Sounds as if your DD had a WONDERFUL time at the Dolphin!

Thanks for the adorable story of the little fella lying on the "beach towel" in the hallway carpet! LOL...just don't trip over the lady you see doing the same on the far EAST wing this summer...(that would be ME!!)

We too, enjoy the late eves in the parks. We also enjoy "sandwiching" our VERO stay in the MIDDLE of our US/WDW stay. It just works perfectly. I'm sure you'll agree.

Disbug~Thank you SO much for the lovely email schedule, etc. I appreciate you including me on the events & details. ::yes::

Mouseteacher~Welcome home! :wave2: Happy to have you back safe & sound. ;) Great to see your priorities are unwavering, as "laundry & unpacking" can certainly wait! (EAT DESSERT FIRST!). ::yes::

*Your words sum up the extent of my days (this past week). I feel as if I'm spinning my wheels, as each day passes into the next. I am saddened by all the sunrises and sunsets he has missed. I am saddened by the singing voices of the birds rejoicing...he has not heard. The pain, is akin to having your heart/joy ripped from your very being. Perhaps...I love too intensely. I can not help myself...these sweet companions give so freely, it's impossible to fathom ever "holding back." The smell, feel and flashes of him are still FRESH & Alive. I truly "ache" for his warm, innocent kiss. This is how he shall remain...as our other pets, (family) whom passed before him are also immortalized. Most are in our yard, and soon we'll purchase a memorial stone for MAC, as well. Hopefully, somewhere down the road we'll welcome another addition to our home. In the meantime...we all support one another, and remember our loving and faithful pal.

Thanks again, to all of you...for your generous and kind support.

MP- so happy that Kirk is home. RSV is a devastaing illness to little ones. ONe of my friend's DD (whom I delivered) caught it as a newborn from a visiting relative and was quite near death on a ventilator for a long time. She also has some residual lung damage (asthma, and gets bronchitis quite easily), but you would sure never know it. She is a bright happy little 5 year old! OUr best PD from the Dolphin to your door.

DF99- continued prayers for you and your family.

Disbug- the meet sounds like it is coming along nicely. I would sure like to attend but just don't think I can swing it.

Everyone - Our last day is here :( We have truly had a magical time :D I wish we could stay longer.

I have been very happy here at the Dolphin. The staff has been very nice and quick to help us with anything we needed.
We did have the opportunity to eat at Beaches and Cream yest. It was wonderful. And the butter pecan ice cream was terrific. Great value for Q&C meal vouchers. and just a short walk.

Take care all.

Cathy

Just wanted to tell you all that the Dolphin was absolutely wonderful! We had a great room with a view, the staff was excellent, the location was out of this world!!!! DH really loved it. I think I have in fact got him thinking about another trip in the near future (a couple of years or so....) Thank you so much for all of your help with the planning... I think I will always want to stay at our Disney home.... The Dolphin!

edited to add... WE LOVED OUR BALCONY!!!!

(I am way too spoiled now!)

Popping in to say HI! We're having a neighborhood yard sale and I just ran in from work (I'm on a 16 hr night shift...)

Welcome back, Mouseteacher! Plans are going swimmingly! Now just need to start finding out who can be there!

MaryMRG! We were at the 11:30 AM mass at Mary QOTU Shrine also! We were on the far left side, about 5 pews from the back on the very left end! So close, and yet so far! My DD15 was at Universal IOA on Sat. DD9 and I were there Friday, but went to Disney Quest on Saturday! (Her choice... not mine! LOL!) On Sunday, we just couldn't leave without going to a park so we went to EPCOT and didn't get out of there until 8:45 PM!) Long drive home in the dark! I'll be back for Memorial Day weekend though!

Hello everyone have to run! DH is prone to sell $5 items for 50 cents! LOL!

Last week at this time...all was well with our little world. :(

crz4mm2~Thanks for the post LIVE from the Dolphin! Please, keep them coming (Stay LONGER!)...I NEED them more than you know (like lifelines). ;) Oh, Beaches and Cream....one of our FAVS. Thank you, for taking time to post.

sarahsmom73~We felt the SAME! Once we stayed at the Dolphin, we just HAD to return!! It's the curse of the big FISH (LOL). So happy you had a wonderful time, and your DH is thinking of returning too. ::yes:: Great news! Thanks for posting your thoughts, glad to have you back. :D

Disbug~Oh, how I WISH we were permitted to have a garage sale! [/b]We have too many "CC&R's" restricting any yard sales. So, we call the goodwill to come and retrieve our goods. We have a LOT right now, including:

*a canopied white with green cushions/awning deluxe yard swing, in mint condition (we bought a new one).

*a wooden slat glider (like new). We bought a teak glider to replace it.

*two gas weed eaters (both in their box). We have a gardener (and have for years!).

*2 like-new black TREK beach cruiser Bikes with 10-speeds (we have SO many bicycles!)

*a 9-piece patio furniture set, (deluxe aluminum with all cushions...6 white chairs with Green cushions, long rectangular glass table, umbrella, umbrella base, and a lounger). We replaced this set with a new set of chairs, etc., and a huge stone marble table.

*traditional white settee and bistro chairs & table (real white wicker wood), with all cushions.

*Like new pool pump and filter system for above-ground pool (used for our pond, before we got a new one).

*Navigator pool sweep cleaning system for in-ground pools

*ping-pong table (great condition), we bought a new one

*four oak swivel bar stools with brass details

*like new "front-throw" lawnmower

*Wheelbarrow

*white deck (globe) lights w/planters

*a large round white plastic table with four reclining chairs.

*planter benches with seating

*fisher price sand box.

*fisher price childrens picnic table.

*rocking horse

*Thule bike carrier for a vehicle

*a white wooden buffet table with an oak~grain top.

*four new 17" tires/rims for an Expedition

*small white dining table and chairs

*misc. other furnishings, and clothing!

Etc., Etc. I have SO many things to give them...it's not funny!! Disbug...if you want any of this...come over and get it!
I'm sure some (most) would sell at the yard sale!

Since we are not able to sell these at a garage sale, I just make one call to donate them (and the Goodwill truck picks them all up)! No hassle, and it spares me the arguments with the "tooth-challenged" hagglers (I once helped my GF with her yard sale, and was amazed at the people whom showed-up!). I felt "guilty" for charging most of them a "dollar" for an item, as it was clear they could use the $$$ for some dentristy! :teeth: These are the ones whom arrived an hour before the time she posted in the paper!

Enjoy the weekend...:sunny:

Hi live from the Dolphin!!!

Fabulous day here, weather is perfect. We just got back from the grotto pool ( not too chilly) and hot tubs. Went to MGM all day and my DH is still sulking because just as he came in first place to go in the hot seat, they ran out of time! He feels cheated by this percieved injustice!! Oh the tragedy of it all....!!!

ALso- there is the coolest gift shop at the end of The Magic of Disney Animation- loads of Lennox and other fine collectible figurines- for the first time in my life I was actually attracted to the idea of a curio cabinet and "knick-knacks". I have always been very anti knick knacky, but of course the magic of Disney can change me!

Mompoppins- I am glad your little boy is home and hope he continues to a full recovery!

DF- I could cry reading your posts about Mac- I too feel love for my furry friend, Riley, in the deepest of ways. The pain of her loss would be almost unbearable-my heart continues to break for your loss. I would sit around and remember her sweet kisses (even if her breath can be ghastly!) I still love them, stench and all! She is 14 so I know my days with her are precious. The extremely limited life span of our pets is the only drawback to having them part of our families-but I suppose none of us really knows how much time we have here- perhaps that alone is a reason to love fully and completely;) ALthough it is painful for you to love so deeply, the people and pets on the receivng endwouldn't want it any other way.

We are moving to the Swan tomorrow- hope to see Thabo!
Off to AK in the am- I love the safari and bugs life!!!

Goodnight everyone! Kim

Madge, I'll be at the Peabody Hotel on Friday and Saturday night for it's proximity to the Family Cafe Conference on Disabilities. I have not booked my room for Sunday night yet... am also toying with driving down on Thursday night so I won't have to deal with the morning rush hour traffic!

disfanRN~ Thank you for the LIVE POST! The Dolphin and the Swan in one trip.. sounds heavenly! Wave to Mama T and Thabo from me.. they are one of a kind!

Dreamflight, Mompoppins, and zurgswife ~ Thought you could all use a hug!

Mouseteacher~ Congrats on your upgrade and the success of your convention! Of course, we never had any doubts!

Sorority~ please check your emails and or PM's. We only have one vote on all of the polls! LOL! I am trying to be democratic here!

we are at the Swan (I think, LOL....) on Sunday night. I don't know if we are staying there Monday night, too. It's just DH and I, and we are toying with staying at the AKL for one night. I imagine we will end up at the Swan though both nights, LOL.

I don't have anything in my e-mail or PM box about the meet :(

DisfanRN~ Thank you for your sincere insight and sentiments. Riley is another of the fortunate animals in the world, having such loving and caring companions (YOU & Your Family). ::yes:: I have experienced SO much loss (with respect to animals) over the years, but I still welcome them into my life...again & again. Most have lived happy, long lives (our two previous dogs lived 13/15 years respectively, and died of old age). Our last cat lived to be 21! Yet, as some of you are aware...we have also lost others in the process. As the old saying goes, "It is better to have loved and lost...than never to have loved at all." I know I'll feel better again, and the pain in my heart will subside...but it will take time. :( Thank you, again...for sharing.

*I'm SO HAPPY you are enjoying all the MAGICAL moments at WDW! :hyper: I missed the gift shop at the end of the attraction, and will be sure to visit this summer! Be sure to say Hello To Thabo and MAMA T for me! :wave2: Have fun in the AK...I LOVE a Bug's Life too. :goodvibes Thanks for posting from inside the MAGIC. Truly makes my day. ^_^

MP~So happy to read BK is home, resting and getting better. :lovestruc I truly believe he will be more comfy at home, and therefore recover more quickly. Give him loads of love (I know you do!), and I'll keep you in my prayers.

Disbug~I LOVE the Peabody...it's where we spend our first eve! CL is the BEST (are you on CL?). PM me for any info/questions on this hotel. ::yes:: Thanks for the hug. XO

WAVE to all....relax and enjoy your late eve.

DisFanRN~my dog's name is Reilly, too!-different spelling. Thanks for posting from the inside. Wow - a true Swan and Dolphin stay -- lucky you. :hyper:

We are having a gorgeous day here in Boston. It's our first real taste of spring. A touch of summer tomorrow with temps expected in the 80s (thoughts of the grotto pool will dance through my head!) - it will be tough for the Marathoners. However, we live in New England and the weather will change again to more seasonal temps.

Disbug...........we were on the same side, far left......maybe 5-10 rows ahead of you - if that! Right after Communion, dd and I had to run to the ladies room..........(it was an emergency) but we came back to our seats. After Mass, we lit a candle for my little angel, and then we all stood outside for awhile waiting for each other as we got separated.

Oh, so close and yet so far............I honestly had a vibe that you might be there.............I think I'm psychic. I just need to act on my premonitions! Unfortunately, they don't translate into lottery winnings.

Well, I always knew how good we had it at 99.00 with resort fee optional but the full impact didn't hit me until I calculated my next trip at 149.00 + 10.00 X 6 nights. Quite an increase but so worth it. Glad to see this thread here, it's one of "those days" when I logged in just to soak up the atmosphere you can only find with fellow Dolphin/Swan lovers.

:wave2: Hi, simonmunro and welcome to our humble thread...check out our S/D sorority thread started by Disbug and join in the fun!

marymrg~the same thing happened to me last summer - Disbug and I were at the Swan at the same time but we just missed each other. I often wondered if we passed one another as we went about the property. I am still kicking myself (figuratively of course) that I didn't make formal plans with Denise even if just to see each other briefly i"n the flesh", so to speak, and say "hi". Oh, well, this summer's meet will make up for the lost chance last summer.

Hi everyone!

I've booked one room before under the teacher discount, but can I book two rooms for the same stay under my name with the teacher discount?
