I requested a room in a certain location in the Dolphin that would require an upgrade. I did this via the SwanDolphin special requests site. My request was acknowledge several days ago, but I haven't heard anything since. I am 5 days away from check-in. Should I re-request the location and ask reservations to apply Starwood points?

RobMax......DD graduated from Mizzou with a degree in Journalism and will be working at the St. Louis Science Center, writing brochures, fund raising, whatever they need written. This is her first day and she already called me and said she was a half hour early and no one was there! How that will change, right?!

Sounds like she is flirting with a full time Marketing Job! My kinda fun!!!

And yes, the S/D has the same cooling system. Last summer we took a small fan and kept it on all the time to keep the air moving. Not sure we needed it, but we were fine. (and I need it cool in the room all the time)

Did the fan's movement keep the air on? If not we may have to appeal to our platinum ambassador for intervention. :D lol

Hey Goofy,

My experience has been that you can take care of most of those things when you arrive. Why not try a day in advance to call it to their attention and then print what you sent them to hand to them when you check in.

If anyone has a better plan - please speak up.

I try not to push them too hard and have always gotten exactly what I wanted.

I like people to remember that SPG (and all major hotels) has a customer relationship management (CRM) system where employees can post comments about their experience with you. Normally they type a few notes about what you are like - agressive, friendly, kind, high maintinance, etc. It try to make sure they don't type things about me that mirror what my students say after midterms (this is a family site - I can't post those) :) :D Since I stay with SPG 30-40 times a year -- and knowing my odd way of viewing the world -- it is a bit scarry to consider all they could have said about me. :D

Hello!! I sure hope all you Dolphin experts can help me...In Nov.2003 we used all our Starwood points to book a room at the Dolphin for the end of June 2004. We now have enough Starwood points to upgrade that room to Club level. Here is the problem: the Dolphin is showing NO availablity at Club level. The Starwood reps I spoke with can't tell if the Dolphin simply does not allow guests who are staying on points to upgrade, with more points, to Club level, OR, if Club level for that time is just fully booked. Does anyone know the Dolphin policy? Can anyone offer any advice? Would it be worth it to email the Dolphin? Thanks so much for any help!:)

Pluto People~I don't think an e mail will get you anywhere. I would call the Dolphin directly and ask for management if the CM can't give you answers.

That's true in many industries, especially those who promote customer service by phone. Whenever I call for information, service, whatever....I always try to be friendly and polite, even if I'm not getting the answers I'd like. I also try not to get too anxious and call again and again, even when I'm dying to know if I have a chance at a balcony room! ;) I try to remember what it's like to be the person at the other end of the call (and I know what that's like all too well!) and treat them the way I want them to treat me! :D

Having said that, I can't wait to hear about the folks who are traveling soon and how their room requests and upgrades go! Good Luck! :earsgirl:

I'm sure I have lots of cute nicknames! But I'm with you - I gotta know and can't wait to hear what the recent visitors say.

Hate to miss the flower and garden show this year in Epcot! :(

Well 2 days of school left before vacation!! My third graders are all so excited - about 7 are heading to WDW and they are POSITIVE they will run into me:hyper: I have tried to convey to them the size and crowds may prevent them from finding me easily but all they know is THEIR GOIN' TO DISNEY!!
Truth be told, I can barely contain myself either:crazy:

DF: Glad to see your signature sense of humor and eloquence are still there!! Hope you find yourself stronger each day!

Gail: I had those same feelings even though I have desparately wanted to call the Dolphin::yes::

Well off to gather DD from Girl Scouts! Can you believe DH is packed (took him 5 minutes total) in an itty bitty suitcase?! I broke it to him he would need to transfer to a larger one to accomodate my "overflow"
:teeth: :earseek:

Don't be too surprised if you do see some of them! We spent our honeymoon at Disney....although it was a much smaller World 18 years ago. While at the Poly, waiting for the luau, we ran into friends who had been guests at our wedding 5 days before! :p We saw them once more on our trip, in the game room at CR.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

After reading RobMax's response, I will try to calm down  and be patient!

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

Don't ever calm down :D :D

Just call up and sweet talk'em! :earseek: :earsboy:

I know I have a ton of kids from school headed to WDW!!! They are sure they will see me also! I CAN"T WAIT!

Tomorrow we do our running around and on Wednesday we head for the airport at nap time.. (it is a 2 1/2 hour drive for us!)

Have a safe and happy trip, everyone who is going! I'll join you all in a week!

Glenn,

The AC has been a hot topic (no pun intended) on the DVC board. Most hotels everywhere are now starting to use this. Basically after the door closes it waits 5-10 mins. If no motion it raises the temp. If it senses motion, it lowers it. It cools off real quick after you return. I found no problem whatsoever but that might be because I travel for business and come across this all the time.

BUT.....no reason you can't have a laugh about this. Check out this thread, particularly page two. You'll know the post. Just look for the Hamster and the balloon.....

*rolling* OH my... I can't believe I just read that! GO! Its worth the read! I think I should probably be glad that Zamboni (yes, his name was Zamboni..LOL) passed away recently so we won't have to sneak him into our luggage, along with two mylar balloons! LOL

OMG!!!! That is tooo funny!!!!ROTFLMAO!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Debbie...did you spray cola all over your monitor too?:earseek:

Loubon, I just laughed myself silly. In fact, everytime I think about it, I start laughing all over again.

RobMax, I got your message. I will wait a day, and then I'll give the Dolphin a call.
