MomPoppins, The journal is located at the Dolphin concierge (lobby). I returned it a few weeks ago and had it filed under S for sigma delta. They did have a hard time finding it when I asked for the journal. They looked under M for Muffy, D for Disbug, nothing! Finally found it a cubby filed under nothing in particular! I left a small trinket in the box for you! Thank you, Disbug, for the journal and box!

Robmax, thanks for the S/D instacam link!

Well, the weatherman was wrong.....it was 25 below here last nite! School cancelled today. Only supposed to get to 12 below tonite:p :p :p

Are the photos on the webcam live? It is nearly a black photo right now! Course its after midnite in Florida. And what is the construction to the rear of the Epcot Spaceship Earth?

My ulterior motive in posting was to get us BACK TO PAGE 1!!!!

WOW, jgates and I thought we were cold here! That is incredible! Stay warm indoors.

Thanks, RobMax. I have used that site before, too. Sometimes just to get a Disney-fix!

I am still cautiously optomistic about our summer trip. Just for informational purposes- when I called for the July dates using the teacher rate, the Swan was booked. I called the resorts directly. I booked a traditional room at the $139 + taxes and resort fee at the Dolphin with the hopes of an upgrade. I have been very fortunate so far that for all my stays we have been granted wonderful comp upgrades.

We had Partiots Day at school yesterday. We all wore Patriots clothing, etc. I wore a Tom Brady football shirt. The kids had a lot of fun preparing for the SuperBowl and hoping for a Pats win (I refuse to be too over confident - superstitious, you know ;) ).

Off to do my weekend chores including the dreaded grocery shopping - :teeth: .

Dust me - if we can get the character chaser (DW) to get a part time job - we can get on the road to WDW sooner than later. :)

Good Morning, all!!

I have been so busy lately with school that I haven't been able to keep up with these boards. I'm still lurking around though.....

Quick Question-
Does anyone know what kind of bottled water is kept in the Swan Club Level minibar? I would like to buy a case and keep switching them with the cold ones from the minibar.

Thanks,

Joanne

:wave2: Hi, jmcross-
Are you ready for the SuperBowl????
School is has been extremely stressful this past month for me. I am hoping February will be better. Perhaps it's the cold weather that is making everyone cranky and critical.

I believe the water is Evian but I am not 100% sure. Perhaps someone else can confirm or not.

Hi Mouseteacher,

Yes, this household is ready for the Superbowl!! We went to the mall today and I swear that every other person was wearing some kind of Patriots garb. I think the excitement is what's keeping most of our brains from freezing solid!! Go Patriots!!

How about the Mouseteacher household? Are you ready for some football?

I know what you mean about school being so stressfull. I don't know whether it's the cold, the short weeks due to holidays, snow days, etc. or the pressure of the MCAS that's looming around the corner. Maybe a combination of all of those factors. I have a terrific class this year and lately they just haven't been as focused.

My countdown clock is ticking away and I am ready for our first stay at the Swan. I am bringing my new mug(Thanks, Disbug!!). My cousin lives in Tampa and he told me that I might be disappointed in the weather because it's rather cool at 70 degrees. Sounds like heaven right about now, how about you??

Thanks for the water info. :)

Joanne

Hi everyone- I am trying to keep up with just the reading to catch up on all of you- I gave up trying to post!! Life has been very busy, but I do have one question for you all- when we were at the Dolphin last Oct, the pool was freezing- like 68 degrees freezing!!! I talked with the gentleman at the towel cabana, and he informed me the only really heated pool was the small round pool near the towel cabana, which we went in and it was far warmer. My question is, why do they advertise "5 heated pools", when that is not the case, aslo has anyone else noticed this, or maybe it was only a problem that particular week?? What have others experiences been with the pool, especially in cooler temperature times of the year??? We were at the WL in Dec, and the pool was bath water like! We love the Dolphin, and hope this was just a fluke with the pools. Does anyone know?

Thank you very much- hope everyones lives have been filled with MAGIC in this new year!

*Big room wave to all my sorority sisters and honorary brothers!*

Go Brady! <have to go with our former wolverine!

The water On the sink area or desk area is Evian. I don't remember what was IN the minibar as I only used it to move a few things aside. I will never forget the big bottle of Evian, though. :p

Michigan's AYP (annual yearly progress) schools were released and I am SOOO happy! *think of it as NCLB Michigan style* I knew my local district would be fine, and they were! What had me dancing in the computer room Friday night was the fact the school I worked at made the passing list! :smooth: I work at an inner-city school so this is a VERY big deal! We're in the middle of our state testing right now and I know all of us will be coming in on Monday with brand new smiles on our faces to face the week!

I am also thinking about reserving the sorority week room and then wait and see what our schedules are here. I know DS will want to go with me, so hockey camp schedules need to be taken into account. I told DH I was going, but he wasn't listening...LOL I keep on telling him that his is my version of "cabin up north". :teeth: I did a preliminary check of airfares, and July looks mighty cheap! If only I could get Easter week to look the same!

Have a wonderful Sunday! It is sunny here! Go Pats and Brady!

Debbie

Hello everyone! Back from a little recon mission down to WDW and would you believe, I have actually made progress? I appreciate the boards being down a little while so I could catch up! I have all sorts of news, but first...

Mouseteacher! and all New Englanders... GOOD LUCK in the Super Bowl tonight! DH is going over to his parent's house with all of his brothers to whoop it up! I'm glad your DS turned out to not have mono! Great news! I will be rooting for you tonight.

ZWGlad to hear your DF is on the mend! Hope you win the Cruise! Speaking of which.... thanks! I got in the "Hot Seat" my first try! You brought me luck!!

MOMPOPPINS The Sigma Delta Sorority Journal WAS supposed to be at the Dolphin Concierge desk.... However it took 2 days to find it because someone had turned them into Security last week!! That would have been okay with me, except that someone removed whatever trinket Muffy had left in the box and kept it for themselves!! I will be writing a letter about that one. We had express permission from the Concierge Manager to keep the box at the desk, but obviously not everyone got the word. So, currently I have the journal and the box, until I can come up with a better plan for keeping them secure! Sorry, Muffy... Someone must have obviously liked what you left in the box!!

Hello, Lou, #1HM, and everyone else I am going to run over to the Sigma Delta Sorority thread and bump it up!

Well, it does not sound very nice to hear my trinket was stolen from the S/D journal/box! Thank you Disbug for keeping the idea going. We can't wait to find out what you have up your sleeve for the Dismeet!

Go Patriots!!

Muffy

So Muffy, does that mean you didn't get the $1,000 I left for you in the journal?

:teeth:

Thanks to those in the sorority rooting for the Pats - the tension around here is very thick --- we can't wait to get this game started!!!:p :bounce:

HM~ re: booking a room for our sorority meet week and waiting to see what happens is exactly what I did. I'll wait on airfare until later in the spring because that will seal the deal since airfare is non-refundable. DS(18) and I talked about going. DH is questionable due to his schedule although he swears he won't be left behind. DS(20) probably will prefer to stay home.

We have the pregame show on and getting ready!!!!!

TTFN :sunny: GO PATS!

nothing like a COLD week, trapped at home with a sick kid to put me into full-blown planning mode :teeth:

I think I have my Spring Break plans squared away....I was able to book the government rate for all of my nights but 2. Of course, the 2 nights I can't get the discount are smack-dab in the middle of the trip  I am going to continue trying for the discount, right up until we leave...it's a difference of $220. I still can't figure out why the rate is available all the nights, except March 29 and 30. Makes no sense.

Anyway, I got an e-mail from Starwood about a stay 5 nights, get a night free promo this Spring. With the Spring Break trip we'll be right under the wire, yay!:Pinkbounc I have credit on SWA to use before June 12, and rates are low from Indy, so DH and I are going down for a trip byourselvesnokids shhhh..... Memorial Day weekend. We'll have the free night and enough points to redeem for another free night...so that's taken care of :)

Then, DH has his training in Sanford in June or July, our choice. I think we have decided for the last week in July--I know it's HOT, but the crowds are smaller than mid-June, I think :::crossing fingers::::

Now I need to do the taxes so I can pay for all of these adventures!

Man, I had severe withdrawal last nite. Couldn't hardly stand it!! I am SOOO glad the boards are up again.

Debbie - where are you finding these cheap airfares? Mine are now (at least as of last nite) $262.50 per person from Mpls to Orlando. Even going with stopover flights didn't help much. I'm still going on the 'I'm looking for a bump' quest so we can pick up flight tickets for another trip, so we are trying for the 10 a.m. flight. We'll go up to the stand right away and see if there are any bumps available.

DH headed for first week of training. Of course it is snowing and the roads are cruddy so I can worry about him for the next few hours. Plus we are supposed to get up to 6" of snow each of the next two nights. So I will probably be blowing out the driveway every night!

To my knowledge the water is Evian. However, when we were there the bottles in the fridge were the same size as the ones at the Club level - now those I believe have changed to the smaller size bottles, so I don't know if the mini-bar did a change or not. Maybe Disbug can email Thabo and check this out?

Go Patriots

We are looking for this win!!!
JMCross - we'll be at the Dolphin for some of the same days, and since we are both from MA, need to find that box and leave something small to say hi. We arrive the day before you, spending a week at our timeshare and then back to the Dolphin for the end of the trip. I am almost at the single digit day !!!

Still not sure about the sorority week in July - if summer school is offered then i 'll most likely not make it. Waiting though before any final decision is made.

I do have my S/D mug ready to pack!

Back to the football game - 21-16 right now. Caroline

Stopping in to say "Check the Sigma Delta Sorority" Thread for info on the Dismeet!

Hello Everyone! Glad to hear the game is going well!:wave2:

Congrats to all the Patriots' fans! DH claims he helped with the win by telling the kicker he'd be traded to the lions if he didn't make it! LOL

airfare..... airtran out of Flint... and believe it or not northwest is cheaper to fly out of Flint and hop to Detroit than to just do Detroit to MCO. Unfortunately... airtran doesn't want to be nice about prices during Easter break! I love their flight times since their nonstop is first one out of Flint going... and last one coming back home from MCO. It works out perfect for two park days! We are much closer to Bishop airport than Detroit Metro. Metro is a mess to park in and navigate, where Bishop is small, compact, and easy to get around! Delta has some flights out of there, also, but I can't seem to get a decent rate from them. I do have lots of miles with NWA but I was saving them for a sans kid trip or a suprise Alaska fishing trip for DH.

I have no idea what this post has to do with the Swan/Dolphin.... but I do know that Tom Brady is going to Disney World!

Debbie

Caroline~

Did someone say in an earlier post that they now have the box due to a theft? Or is it back at the Swan or Dolphin? It would be a lot of fun to leave a little something for each other or meet and say hi.

My resort plans have changed a little, though. I will be at the Swan 2/14-18 and then AKL 2/19-21. Do these dates still coincide with yours?
