DF - I only have the 2 kids - DS is 19 and DD just turned 11. No relation to the 'flipper' on the field! But boy you have to have talent to do that. Since I am only 4'11" & DS is 5'11", you can guess he took after his dad (6'3")! DD has already passed me up!

DF- don't forget to PM your mailing info to me - I will send the card out as soon as I get it! I'd never remember to bring it to Florida with me.

I suppose Mouseteacher and I will have to choose appropriate weapons in this duel - maybe PalMickey's? - I'm not too good at arm wrestling.

Getting antsy to get to Florida - I'm starting to look at the flights more seriously now. I think I will book the rental car this week too. I can cancel that easier if a better code comes out.

Hi to everyone! I am sending Happy Birthday wishes! And get well wishes to so many of you! Disbug ... I am so glad to hear your little cutie is at home. I am sure you will make sure she stays hydrated. Although that can be tough sometimes!;)

I have been trying to read the thread to catch up ... but we ceertainly are a talkative bunch! Any more news on which week this summer we are making our S/D trip?

I am heading to Nashville this weekend, I've never been there before. I see the weather will be cold there, oh well. That just means I can look forward to my Florida trip all the more. That dip in the grotto pool sounds GREAT!

I'll be in Orlando the February 20th weekend but I will not be at the Dolphin ... darn!;) But I do have reservations to go the The Blue Zoo ... so I have really enjoyed the reviews. I can't wait! Any "must order" entrees or other items that you suggest?

I love reading the live reports ... they might be hard for you to take time from your vacation but we love to read them!!!

KelliR - have fun in Nashville. It was close to 60 the other day.

We only got a few minutes at the Opryland Mills - everything closed early for NYEve. Ate at HardRock Cafe - good meal. Stayed at the SpringHill Suites MetroCentre. Very nice.

Quick question for all of you S/D experts:

How do I go about getting a late check-out? Do I need to be SPG gold? Can it be arranged in advance?

Thanks,

Joanne

:wave2: A quick good morning wave - I'm back at the office and ready to re-emerge into the real world!

JK - certainly don't want my DSs marrying until much, much later.

I think you need to have at least "preferred plus" status. I'm sure it says somewhere on www.spg.com :)

I was told to ask for it as close to checkout as possible, they can't really say for usre without knowing the capacity of the hotle or something like that....

I just got caught up here on the DIS...

Tink44 I had to go back and read your message twice(pg 131) and then I couldn't stop smiling about the "Tom Petty Experience" I know you meant the Richard Petty Driving Experience (which I would LOVE to do by the way) but I can't stop imagining what the Tom Petty (rock/pop star) Experience would be like??:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

We are leaving for Orlando on 3/14.

My kids start back tomorrow. I know you teachers are sad, but the parents are relieved and grateful. My children get "fractious" when they spend this much time together! We are going to a movie today to pass the time.:wave2:

Happy New Year to all ...

Keep to them resolutions like staying a week at the S&D. LOL

yes, it was! I live about 2 hours north of Nashville and it was very warm. this weekend? not so warm, LOL.....

Opry Mills is a fun place to shop :)

jmcross~ Re: late check-out. I would ask at the desk if it's possible. If the resort is quiet, you just might get a yes no matter what level of spg you are.

DISBUG Glad to hear that your DD is starting to feel better and is a home recuperating.....Thank you for trying reach me while we both were in WDW....The M&M guy was a big hit:bounce: :bounce: ...sorry I wasn't able to get in touch with you... time just got lost for me....I never ended up remembering to do things until it was ridiculously late....I didn't post while at the Dolphin as the broadband kept shutting our computer down...we finally gave up (tried the tech people but nobody could make it work for longer then 15mins.)

A very Happy New Year to you all!!!

Disbug - i am thrilled to hear that your daughter is home- i am sure you'll keep the fluids pumped into her!!!

Mouseteacher- for just one period this morning- i thought i had the wrong group of kids - they were wonderfully quiet but i heard later in the day - they were their "oldselves!" I did love the 2 week vacation though.

Muffy, the pictures are wonderful! Thanks for sharing

#1 Hockeymom - wow, it was so long ago that i was 31... hope you had a great day!

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday. Caroline

:teacher:

 Deb 7542- I knew it didn't sound right but Tom just went with Petty so well - no wonder.

#1 Hockeymom - Happy Birthday and God Bless you with many more!!!

31? You sound so wise for a spring chicken. :cutie:

Yeah Madge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Sounds like everyone is having a great trip! Thank you for all of the well wishes. I am NOT 31! Came from a joke posted here on my anniversary! I am still under 40.. barely. DD turned 18 a few weeks ago.... My baby will be 11 this spring!

No, I can't sleep. After a very productive day teaching (I was amazed!), running to hockey games afterwards, and getting stuff done around the house I seem to have woken back up at 9pm when DH made fun of me for being in bed. I woke up and now I can't get to sleep!

Have a wonderful Tuesday! Welcome back to those that just came from the world!

Debbie

P.S. I keep laughing over the Tom Petty driving school, too! Does he drive? or sing? or both?!

Mug Update! (and thread bump!)

Also, DD2 was brought home too early. Had to take her back to the doctor and he admitted he discharged her too soon. The nurse had told him she had drank a full 8 oz bottle and finished her lunch, when she barely took 3 oz (all by syringe) and ate less than half of her lunch. So, now we are 2 people nursing crying baby 24 hours a day and her liquid intake is less than adequate. Next option is a G-tube (feeding tube) until she gains some weight. Dr. will be considering readmitting her Thursday if today is not better. ARGHH! To the showers and off to work!!

Disbug, I hope your DD starts to eat and drink soon! Still sending PD and P's!

DH enjoyed the Richard Petty driving experience just as much as last time! Try it tink!

Hoop de doo was great fun. We love going to ft wilderness and pioneer hall for this dinner show.

We finally used 3 lunch vouchers yesterday at LeCellier! Worked out great but I think I bought to many. We just seem to eat our big meal of the day at night. Today we are going to MGM and the Brown Derby (lunch). I'm bringing vouchers!

We had a great day at AK and Epcot yesterday. The animals are out and entertaining at AK. Saw the chair balancing act in France! don't miss this act!

We are still healthy and well. None of us caught that lousy flu that is going around. We did get the flu shot in Nov. We must stay healthy as we have another week to go!

On my way to CL for a cho crossant and then MGM. Hope to see wishes tonight.

Bye for now!

Muffy

:( , Disbug for DD2.

Muffy~ Wishes, choc croissants, chair balancing, Brown Derby, Le Cellier.......ahhhhhh, I wish I were there!

madge~YIPPPEEEE :bounce:

ZW~ I am sooo happy you loved the D! Many people are posting that they did not like their experience at the S or D. I guess a difference of opinion makes the world go round! Sometimes you just hate to rave about a stay and recommend it to someone else and then have them return hating it! But, I am happy for you and Z family.

Caroline and Debbie~ our cherubs (aka students) were on the quiet side yesterday, too. I suppose they will return to "normal" today! :teeth:

have a Disney day everyone!
