Just popping in so Loubon doesn't feel overwhelmingly outnumbered.
I know what you mean about watching grammar and spelling around teachers - my wife is a teacher, and her best friend along with her husband. We travel together every year (this year at the S/D) - and I have to endure "shoptalk" quite a bit.
Speaking of sports - strange times in Chicago, wih both baseball teams doing well. On the radio station I listened to driving to the train station, they did the sportscast with the "Twilight Zone" theme being played in the background.
Ozzie - is your screen name a takoff on the greatest shortstop I ever saw? (We've had some great ones in Chicago, but nothing like Ozzie Smith). The Cards/Cubs rivalry is great, but we're in unfamiliar territory with the games meaning something this late in the season.
One more sports reference - I'll be missing the Bears home opener vs. GB during my trip to Boston. (I bought two PSLs for the new stadium - had season tickets for 20+ years). It's killing me, but at least my two boys will be able to go.
Charm bracelts are somewhat of a sore point in my house: my daughter lost hers a couple of years ago; it wasn't the money, but the memories (vacations, school accomplishments etc.) She never wanted to start a new one. Now she makes her memories by compiling videos of her and her friends - complete with music (a lot of Disney, I should add). She did one for a friend for her 16th birthday that was really professional looking; burned on DVD with motion-menus etc. Can't wait to see what she does with our recent vacation tapes.
Catch everyone later - hope the school year starts out great, and the weather cools down a bit.
