I received my confirmation postcard the other day! Special Requests and Information: Club Level, Long Stay (7 or more), 2 Queen Beds, Resort Fee, turndown Service. July 18 to July 30, 2004..............

I keep fondling it my purse!

Question!!!!!!! At what point do I start checking for airline ressie's. Usually when I go to a conference we are checking about 8 weeks to 12 (sometimes 3!) ahead. How far out can I easily book for a planned vacation?

It was a wonderful day. I too, wonder "where" the time goes. Had a fabulous dinner in Canada. Beef Barley (the pretzel sticks are so tasty) soup, shrimp sauteed in penne for moi, DD had NY Strip, and DH enjoyed salmon. We shared a huge slice of chocolate cake, and DD ordered the Creme Brulee (her fav). We strolled past the gardens, where DH & DD "raced" through opposite sides of the garden maze! DD won, and a CM gave her some special stickers and a pin. We walked along the lake to the Dolphin...and talked about how the time has passed.

Later, we shared some champagne & strawberries...then off to the Boardwalk to sit and listen to the pianist in the club. $7 cover each...worth every penny.

My DH is still as fun & loving as when we met...maybe even MORE so, if that is possible.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DREAMFLIGHT! Wow 17 years that is fantastic. Hubby and I just celebrated our 10th. this past January. We were planning on a 2nd. Honeymoon, but being prego with Baby Kirk changed that plan

DH has no time off, since being off for the better part of 3 months to take care of the girls for me We are having a stay at home vacation this weekend. We took all to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner last night, on to Spy Kids 3 and Braums for Ice Cream then on to buy their favorite CD. Today's plans include family time around the pool, We have Water balloon toss, Boat races in the Pool, Volleyball, then break for lunch and Treasure Planet movie(we missed this one), after lunch we have golf contest on front lawn, playing in sand ( had 10 yard dump truck deliver play sand) and egg toss followed by smores and hot dogs on the firepit outside. Tomorrow its off to a local Waterpark for fun. I hope the girls have fun...I could not figure out a way to get a vacation in for this summer.... So I decided we would have fun at home instead..... Have a great weekend everyone!

Mom Poppins, your "at home vacation" sounds just WONDERFUL! What a nice treat for everyone - add to that your new "special addition" and you have a weekend as memorable as can be! After reading your weekend plans, I just had to write and tell you your post made me smile!

Happy Anniversary, DF - my parents' celebrated 37 years July 23!

I am headed to WDW Wednesday, and am about to jump out of my skin - with excitement (of course) AND becuase I am suffering from an allergic reaction to SOMETHING (???) and am covered in HIVES! Some folks I've talked to believe it might be stress related and I tend to agree; I haven't eaten anything different, haven't changed my "beauty regimen" (shampoo, soap, makeup, lotion, etc.), haven't used new detergent, no new meds... I've no CLUE what could be happening. But I am VERY ANXIOUS to shake these lovely little bumps before Wednesday!

(Not that I won't have FANTASTIC time in WDW anyway, of course!)

I just want to say again how much I love reading these posts, its a nice treat to be able to check in on everyones plans and aspirations - Disney or non-D. (as if there is such a thing!!)

mompoppins.....wow....to be a kid in your house! Think I am coming down to share your vacation at home! I remember when I had the energy to do stuff like that. They grow up fast, so get in all the memories you can. I am sure your family will remember this vacation at home as much as the disney ones!

DF.....keep those reports coming...I am enjoying your vacation right along with you!

disbug.....if you are still at home, have a great vacation from me. Have a dole whip in Adventureland. I had my first one this summer and wonder how I missed them before! So refreshing.

jgates.....I thought I was a planner. You have ressies for next July already! Good for you. As for plane ressies....not sure. I keep checking all the time and when the price is right, I jump on it. Many times I wait for Southwest and they come out about f6 months in advance. Other airlines have prices now. Good luck. You could have your whole trip paid for before you go!!

Hi I ahve been lurkig on your thread. We have our first stay @ the Dolphin this upcoming Easter week. We have teacher rate for balcony room and I received confirmation in mail. But, I tried to check my ressie on line and it won't let me through. Should I be worried?
Since you all are so incerdible with your knowledge of details, does anyone know what room category A means? This was also on my confirmation paper. Does anyone have picture of the inside of a Deluxe balcony room? I am just so excited! DH & kids think I am a whacko!
BTW, I teach grade 3 here in upstate NY!

jgates>> I know I looked on airtran for flights during Easter and they weren't posted yet. I am sure other airlines do have their flights/rates up, though. Keep checking! Expedia or Travelocity, I forget which, tends ot send me emails on who's doing the slashes in air fare prices. You could subscribe to their mailing lists and then unsubscribe when you don't need the info anymore.

Crc6>> I hope your hives go away! Hopefully they are just stress related and will disappear upon packing! You'll have a wonderful trip!

Need advise from the pros.
We are staying at the swan - startwood preferred plus guest. Would it be to forward to ask for a comp upgrade to club level. I never requested an upgrade before, but want to try. I hope I don't chicken out at check-in. Do you think I should put this on my request online at spg.? Help!!

Crc6...I had to sympathize with your situation. I have had several allergic reactions in the recent past. I, myself, now have a reaction to almost ALL varieties of antibiotics (even those I had taken many times in the past). My worst reaction happened about 3 days after finishing the presciption so think about anything you were taking recently. The last time I broke out in the "rash" (all over, I looked very bad) it was right before my daughter's first communion. I rushed to my regular Dr. He gave me a shot of epinephrine and a strong steroid shot. I started improving immediately!

So, think about calling the Dr. or going in for a check. They can really help get rid of those hives.

The RAIN has been hitting here at ODD times! Yesterday, the storm rolled in at 5:30...and was outrageously WILD. Today, at about 2:30...the black clouds came down with the wind & lightning. We took shelter, and donned the ponchos as we trekked through DINO-LAND! It was laughable...as we were soaked...poncho/no poncho!

We played games and shopped as we awaited the rides to open. We rode the P.Whirl, T. Spin, Dinosaur, and onto "It's tough to be a bug". We went on the safari ride before the storm...where a cm confirmed the death of a 6 YO Giraffe last week by a lightning strike. It is indeed tragic.

We finished the day at the rainforest cafe. We love this place. I had Bahama punch, which was delicious. We all had the safari soup, and the pastalaya over cajun rice. No Volcano for dessert. We were all too full (BBQ for lunch too). We shopped a bit, before heading out to hop a "special" bus for the Dolphin. It was a magical day.

Our neighbors (whom were here three weeks), flew home this eve. It was sad to say goodbye...as we shared some special times together, and they actually "GET" WDW! You all know how RARE this truly is, and we love the fact they live two doors away from us.

Thanks again, for all the happy wishes for a wonderful 17th! Jetsetter...wow! You and I were wed the same year. Seems like yesterday.

Mom Poppins...you are SO SPECIAL! Your children and DH are blessed to have you! WOW...what an amazing VACATION weekend. I had to read your post TWICE, to catch each detail. You made me SMILE. Keep up the MAGIC...no matter WHERE you are. Also, enjoy a S'more for moi. They are one of my favs!
