...wow, here I am posting for the FIRST TIME on your NEW thread (nothing like a little "Spring Cleaning"!!)....
Guess WHAT??!?!? I just received my "I Conquered the World" Pins!!!! Woohoo!!! They are FABULOUS!!!! THANKS AGAIN (BTW ~ Sorry, Caroline, gotta get that check out today.... )

Thanks again,
kimmar
WOW, that was FAST priority mail! Did they arrive in Perfect condition? Are you planning to frame these (like mine in the photo?). Which is your fav? Are you pleased with the "Sorceror Mickey" for the final on the map? Tinkerbell? How about the Map? I had the entire thing stamped, (With cute green stamps which match the pins!), but did not want to write the answers. You may do this in your own handwriting (if you need any answers...just pm me!). So glad you are happy, they are indeed COOL! If there's ANY you want this summer (while I'm there), just let me know. I'll keep my eyes peeled for AP specials and other limited editions. ;)

zurgswife...great! Just remember "E"ast = "E"pcot! It is my FAVORITE view...very peaceful and relaxing, also private. ;)

jgates...How sad. Where is the TAG fairy? She/He NEEDS to come to the RESCUE & FAST! Have you posted your plight on the TAG thread? I've had those kind of weeks before...kind of "Eeyore-ish" and filled with problems. Just try to look at the SUNNY side...:sunny: , and rise~up to the challenge of each obstacle. Nothing to fret over....you'll be "TAGGED" again, I'm sure. ;) Hopefully, this time they'll also add the accomplishments you've achieved. :D So, it could truly be a small blessing in disguise. Either way, don't let this or too much else "get you down". For a DOSE of HAPPINESS...just gaze at these pictures!

Woo hoo! E-ride nights are out for June and july...

DF-- No Concierge this trip...Savannah view at AKL and Courtyard at WL. This will be our first time at WL. We chose this resort in order to be close to my Mom and Dad who were planning on camping at FW the first week of June, but Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and will just be finishing radiation on June 5th....The bright side is that Mom is well on her way to recovery and moved the dates at FW to the second week of June...Now, if I can convince all of my siblings that a trip to Disney will be good for Mom so they will stop telling her that she will not feel like being in the Fla. sun right after finishing seven weeks of radiation:mad:

DF - what an awesome location you have at PBH.

And if the tag fairy visits this board again..........here's my plea

Twinkle twinkle little tag fairy,
please come and visit Mary.
Thank you oh great tag fairy. Keeper of all things magical.

Here's some Pixie Dust for you............xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxx

lovingthemouse: I have a 7th grader and an 8th grader. That alone ought to earn me some tlc from the tag fairy!

p.s. I took a sabatical from cafeteria duty for a few years. I decided to let the younger parents have a turn......
MaryG :D

DF ~ the statue of Walt and Mickey holding hands represents, to me, all that is WDW - a powerful symbol of the magic. It brings such a smile to my face eaach time I see it.

jaygatz ~ wondeful news for your mom that she is on the road to recovery - I say FLA sunshine and WDW magic is just what she needs and deserves.

lovingthemouse ~ cafeteria duty :( but somebody's gotta do it! ;)

jgates...have you SEEN this?

Just thought it may CHEER you a bit! ;) Thanks for the news on the E-Ride nights...could you please tell me "where" you found the dates? :)

How wonderful your DM is on the road to recovery, and part of the road stretches through WDW. I agree with Mouseteacher, the Florida Sunshine is good for her :sunny: and will help raise her spirits and outlook! You'll have a great time at both resorts, I'm sure. I'm looking forward to your review of AKL.
Now...where is that TAG FAIRY?!?

marymrg...Yes, indeed. It is awesome, and so much more. I enjoy the accomodations as much as the "journey, parks, family, sunshine...and more!" I have never viewed a resort as merely a place to "sleep" ( as many do), but more a part of the entire experience. I "unwind" in these resorts/suites...and recharge my life spirit. Most persons are in the room more than they intend, and should try to obtain the nicest views & accomodations under any circumstance.

For instance, the Disney Magic Cruise we took last summer. If all the rooms with balconies were reserved, I would never have traveled on that ship. Having a balcony, where I can sit and SMELL/FEEL the ocean as the ship cuts across, watch the sunrise and the moon dance over the waves, was a priority. I did not want to be in an inside room, with out any window/balcony. It's just not for me. With the memories still FRESH from this cruise, we are readying to embark on another this summer (Wonder 4-day Eastern), in the SAME stateroom! LOL.

So, when I plan a trip...from the transportation to the destination, it is done with the forethought of savoring each and every second of the experience. This includes the rooms/views, cars/valet, parks, restaurants, shopping, etc. Each minute detail is carefully planned, and organized. It works like magic, and each summer...our vacation flows smoothly and carefree. Of course, I always bring an overstock of HUMOR, just in case!!:p

A thread on the Themeparks board has the dates and times...pretty much Tues. and Fri. nights 7-10 for the 1st 3 weeks.

Thanks for the Thoughts Mouseteacher and DF99.

As for the AKL, I will post on our return. We were there January of this year after our stay at the Dolphin, and loved it. It will be nice to try out the pool this time, however. I can almost taste the "Pap" at Boma now....UMMM (doing my best Homer Simpson with a Donut impression).

I was just wondering if all of the beds at the Swan now have been changed over to the new heavenly beds or just the queen size. I thought that all of the beds were being changed over, but I saw the new Swans link on this board and it only mentioned queen beds.

I currently have reservation for a club level room and a king size bed and want to make sure that the Kings are also the heavenly beds as well.

Any information would be great.

Thanks,

DF ~ Nice Wheels !!! Affordable on an educator's salary?!! NOT!;)

Thank you for the photos! The Dis ones nearly made me cry and the jag ones at least gave me a laugh! Not on my salary!

Went shopping today - DH decided to keep GNC in business another month! I bought a couple books for my daughter who is starting to grow up - good time for her to read that stuff! Tried to buy 'Never Leave Well Enough Alone' by Raymond Loewy for DS (my Engineering student) for his bday, but it was not in stock - so I'll just order from Amazon. (Loewy is regarded as the father of modern industrial design - also the designer of the Avanti which I'm afraid I love even more than your Jag photos! When DD was 2 she had her photo sent via AP nationwide when she was cleaning the front of my mom's Avanti at the Iola Car Show - such a rush!). So the day went about 50% good which is the way the whole week has gone!

They must try to keep e-nites pretty consistent. They were Tues & Fri last July also.

I did post my plea again on the Tag Fairy thread, but to be honest - I think the TF's are either on vacation or on strike. If we can figure out who isn't posting right now we can probably pin down those TF's!

PS - it's a perfect day here for a ride in that Jag convertible!

ozziewags great picture thanks

HI ALL!!! I have been sooo enjoying this new thread - particularly the wonderful pictures! It appears, from reviewing the top thread on the resorts board, that the gov/nurse/teacher standard room rate at the SWAN has gone up to $144...

I just checked Aug 20th on the SPG site - got gov rate of $129 for the Dolphin and $144 for the Swan- looks like it is a done deal!:(

I only checked the Dolphin--expecting that they would change both at the same time....hopefully the new beds will be worth the increase:D

"In my WORLD, they certainly would be" (If you were truly paid, what you were WORTH...which would be more than your weight in pure 24K GOLD!). ;)

I checked this out as well, The pluto people are correct (you too, Jay!). The rates will increase "slightly" due to the renovations. C'est la Vie. Still better than any other DELUXE, especially Concierge! ;) Trust me, Jay. The new beds (Dolphin's Sweet Sleeper) are outrageously worth the extra few $$! Just look:
