Typhoon Lagoon is one of the most relaxing places. I love that water park.
I am also on vacation from school, and enjoying my time off. May gets so hectic for me......I host a water sports field day every year for all of my 600 students! I set up 28 stations and they get wet or use water at every station. Lots of fun and lots of work!
This is my outlet for stress. I need to come here every day for my disney fix!
Having you guys report from the magic gives us all a memory of when we were there, brings us closer.
How time flies when you are having fun!

Hi , I am wondering if anyone has sent a package for pickup upon arrival at the Swan before ?? I am thinking i might want to send some snack stuff and juices that type of stuff before we arrive ? Thanks for your help Michelle

That is great news ozziewags , I will be sending out a package to myself for my June 16 arrival date !!! Michelle

I'm thinking about that whole water station thing, sounds like alot of work and fun!!

But back to my question. When we originally got our swan room with the nurses rate it said something like limited view.
When I changed the ressie to the cash and points she wanted to know if I wanted a king room and I said sure. Our ressie now says king room resort view with a view of the resort and Cresent Lake. I'm thinking this is probably an upgrade. Any one know? Anyone know of a great view from these king rooms? I don't have enough points left for any kind of an upgrade.
Thanks

Yes...it's an UPGRADE. Most all the KING rooms/views are VERY nice, and I'm sure you'll be MUCH more pleased with this room/view than the original Standard limited view. ;)

lovingthemouse...So GOOD to hear from you, Caroline! D has been on vacation since the 11th, and returns on the 21st. :( I love having her H-O-M-E...and can not WAIT for vacation! :)

beader7...AK is a LOT of fun! In the summer, it's about 20 degrees warmer than any other park, due to the excessive amount of canopy and foliage! Whew...:p The dino-ride is a bit rough to me too. It's the same concept/attraction as the Indiana Jones ride in DL. I always feel as if I've lost my LIVER, or some other vital organ on one of the sharp turns...LOL.  How sweet of DD..."princess floats", also warms my heart. In fact, the entire experience is absolutely phenomenal. ;) I already know a "week" passes in a flash (one of the reasons our stays have continually grown over the years, LOL), especially at WDW.

disnurse...ahh...the LAZY RIVER is my FAV place at Typhoon Lagoon! Our memories our still so vivid, I can hear the "boom" of the tidal pool, and feel the sand under my toes. ;) I'll be back there soon. :)

Ozzie...HERE~HERE! Outlet for stress, and a total ESCAPE! LOL. I relish reading each post from INSIDE the Kingdom. :)

Mouseteacher...GREAT PICS! What an ACTION shot on TT, I can almost feel the SPEED...LOL. :p Thanks for the view. :)

RobMax...LOL. :p

I have only visited one of the water parks - Blizzard Beach on our 1997 trip. I really enjoyed the lazy river equivalent at BB and the family tube (forget the name) ride. DSs enjoyed the park overall. I found it extremely crowded - we were there in early August. I much prefer a return to the resort for a lazy afternoon near the pool. Our last trip, DSs were old enough to go to BB on their own so that got DH and I off the hook.

I guess I'm just not a water parks person!

We are planning a Disney trip in the Fall of this year. We were planning on December, but are second-guessing the time because we want to be able to use the water parks and understand that the weather is pretty iffy in December. So now we are considering the end of September/early October.

We got a decent price on the Swan/Dolphin for what they called "Club Level/Concierge." We were actually hoping to stay at the Yacht or Beach Club because we understand that they have the best pool area for the little ones (our wee one will be around 15 months old when we go) but any discount rates for that time haven't come out yet, so we thought we'd book the Swan/Dolphin at the rate we were given and hope for a better rate at the Yacht Club/Beach Club to maybe come out later in the year. This leads to a lot of questions though:

1. Is one preferable to the other as far as the Swan/Dolphin go?
2. Are the club level rooms all suites?
3. If I've read correctly, none of the Club Rooms have balconies. Do they still have good views?
4. If the Yacht Club/Beach Club does release a rate that we can live with, would we be complete morons to give up the Club level at the Swan/Dolphin to switch to a standard room at the Yacht Club/Beach Club? Seems like we'd have the better deal at the Swan/Dolphin, but since I have never stayed at either resort, I don't know how to compare them.
5. Does the Grotto Pool have a Kiddie Area? How about a beach entrance to the main pool?
6. The most important question??..Can you get coffee all day at the Club Room? I'm not talking anything fancy here, just plain old coffee.
7. Any other info that we should know?

We've stayed at the Polynesian, the Contemporary, and All Stars, but I am clueless when it comes to the other "on-site" resort opportunities. This is also the first time my Husband and I have planned a long Disney trip with a child, so that is a whole new ballgame. She went on her first Disney Cruise two weeks ago (7-Day Western), and we did stay at All Stars for two nights afterward to hit the Magic Kingdom, but that was just a short little thing, not really planned very much at all.

Thanks for any help that you can provide!

Kathy

i don't know if i would go so far as to label you a "complete moron" for passing on the S/D for a stay at the YC/BC; however, i would say that you had a screw loose somewhere;) The only thing that the YC/BC has on the S/D is stormalong bay, IMHO. So, the question becomes, "What is your rate at the S/D, and what rate could you possibly get at the YC/BC?" If the S/D rate is low enough, you could feasibly buy tickets each day to BB or TL and use those as a pool and still come out cheaper in the end, and have a better "pool" than stormalong bay. Also, you'll have to add the costs of snacks/breakfast onto the cost of YC/BC as you will have to pay there, and it would be free at the S/D.

Yeah, it isn't like we plan to spend the whole time at the hotel pool, so I suppose I answered my own question really. I think we just had a one -track mind of the YC/BC and switching it to the Swan/Dolphin will take a bit. It does seem pretty stupid to pass on it for something less, even if there is a great pool. :)

Thanks!

Kathy

Schmoo......so many questions, but there is no such thing as a complete moron on these boards! I can answer a few of your questions, but I am sure others can help out also. All of the rooms on club level are not suites. They are standard rooms, unless you pay more for a suite. They have jr. suites and executive suites and more! The club level rooms do not have balconies, but there are a lot of wonderful views. It is also possible to stay in a balcony room and pay for club level and get those privledges. Both the S and D have club levels and both have similar rooms. Many prefer the Dolphin because it is bigger and has more rooms available to choose from and also because Tubbi's is there and the laundry, and the larger health club. Some say it is more 'kid friendly', whereas, the Swan is more quiet and 'adult friendly'. We have only stayed at the Swan. The Swan is completely refurbished and the Dolphin is being done soon. Coffee is not available all day on club level. It is open for breakfast and you can take bottled water with you, or sodas. It reopens again later in the day for snacks. The Grotto pool has a kiddie area and is lovely. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the pool was and so large. I have also stayed at the Yacht Club and loved it too. I just couldn't pass up the teacher's rate at the S/D. Glo has a very informative thread on the S/D on the Resort page that you should read too. I hope I have answered some of your questions.....

I agree with the previous posts. S/D Club is a wonderful amenity. I wouldn't give this up for a standard room at YC/BC.

I saw many young children really enjoying the children's pool and saw some parents with their children playing on the beach sandy area. Staying at the Dolphin gives you quicker access to Tubbi's and the laundry should you need it since they are both housed in the Dolphin.

I vote for keeping your S/D ressie and I believe you won't be disappointed.

Forgot to add... coffee maker is in your room so you would be able to have coffee all day there.

mouseteacher.....don't panic....let's see, it could be a couple things. First be sure to 'highlight' the pic, then right click on it, then click on properties. 'Highlight' the url(which is that long address. Then, right click on the url address and click on 'copy'. Next, go back to your post and click on IMG. When you get the pop up screen it begins with: http://. Right click and when you see the little box, click on 'paste'. Your url address will be pasted into the IMG space. Then click on OK. It will come up in your post like http://whateveraddress[IMG/] Look at it and be sure there is only ONE http:// and NO spaces. I have accidently hit the space bar and had your problem before. It is usually some little thing like that. The puter has to read it just right, or it won't work. Try again and let me know what happens.
here you go disnurse ozzie is the expert on posting pix.
Try Shula's or the Flying Fish Cafe for a special dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY disnurse! I would call and make a PS for LeCellier since it's your special day! Wherever you go HAVE FUN!
