Disnurse - We are staying at the Swan. We are driving down on Friday and we will arrive early Sunday afternoon. We will be there till Friday the 18th. I think I am just about all packed. We got the goverment rate also (I work at Purdue) so I am so excited to be staying at such a great hotel for such a great price!!! Tie up loose ends at work tommarrow, and off we go Friday afternoon. (girls HAVE to be at school 1/2 day on Friday). Its Coollddd!! here in the Chicago area, and I can not WAIT for that warm sunshine~~~

See yall at there! I WILL have a green ribbon on (if not- I always have my trustly KIPLING orange back pack)

Thanks SO much, Ozzie! WOW...just LOOKING at this picture pulls at my heart. I LOVE adventure, and am somewhat "nomadic" in spirit. Yes...the MMB (micro~molecular Bio) would keep me busy up there with all the science-based tests, etc. Yet, with my youthful soul...it would still be one heck of a VACATION too. It's very enticing. ILYK....

Its been awhile since I've posted. I'm scheduled to be at the Dolphin May 2-6th. I saw on another thread about the great hotwire deal. I tried it and I got it!!!! I got the Dolphin for $81 night ($97.95 w. tax). I was going to use the teacher rate but couldn't help try this. I am so happy!!! I was able to save another $48 night!!! I can't believe it.

m.pots ... what a great deal! Congratulations to you! I haven't been brave enough to use hotwire or priceline. I'm always worried Iwill end up at a hotel that I do not want. Good for you and have the greatest time. It will be extra nice knowing what a great deal you have procured!

Wow DF - what a thrill! My DH (a physics guy) would love to do that. He works in the gas industry now.........but space/astonomy are his his passions. He thinks he is too old now........but is hopeful that space travel will be "routine" for our kids. And, btw, my undergrad was in Bio. (I studied bone regeneration) and then I worked in a medical lab for about 5 years before I switched careers! I often wonder about the science experiments in space.

I bet you can't wait for Mission Space to open up............then again..........you might experience the real thing!

I too...have mucho trepidation when it comes to "plunging" into the Priceline site! Eeekkk! I would be too afraid I'd end up in some "tent in a swamp" on the outskirts of Fla.! LOL. So glad to see someone (m.pots) actually tried it...and was VERY SUCCESSFUL!

Mary...Space cadet...space cowgirl...LOL. The most recent crew actually completed prelim. bone density/aging tests...but these were lost. Some of the "data" was sent to NASA and stored. Future mission specialists can p/u where they l/o and proceed with testing. You'ld be amazed at the amount of testing taking place...incredible. If DH is too old (hard to imagine...I NEVER think of myself as "aging"...LOL)for a space mission...perhaps he would be happy working the other end. There is plenty of opportunity available to civies in NASA @ CC.

Hello all!! I need some expert advise!! Just talked to DH and on our return trip, a two day stay in Nashville fell through. So... we now can stay an additional day ath the Swan!! (Yeah!!)

Question - Can I want till we get to the SWAN to add the day( its gonna be Good Friday evening)?? I would sure hate to not be able to stay!! Then theres the other problem, we only have enough points to upgrade to CL for 5 nites, not 6. So what will happen on that 6th night? Will they move our room? Should I ask after we check in?

Dreamflight, I admire your ambition and courage for such a grand goal. I am not envious of the decision you will have to make, as it will be a difficult one, though I'm sure with the love/support of your family and the trust in your heart & conscience, you will reach yours (and the right one) in time. Well i am down to the final wire and have lots of odds and ends to do. Tonight I have a middle school band/spag. supper to attend but i'll get a bit done before and after. Hope the weather holds out, today was a bit ify- currently 61 degrees at the dolphin, a bit chilly but warming up daily!!!

We are staying at the Swan 6/22-6/29. Currently I have booked a Club Level room but am wondering if we would like a Resort View instead.

1. What are the views like on the Club Level?

2. I joined Starwood Preferred Guest but we have 0 points.

DF, that is the most exciting thing I have ever heard!! What an opportunity -- when they say one in a million, this is what they mean.
Jsmla, ozziewags has posted, a few pages back, gorgeous pictures of her view from a club level room. I'm not sure about SPG perks, as I have not had a stay there yet, but I believe there are some like late check-out.

To all of you going to Swan/Dolphin in the next few days, have happy, healthy and memorable trips and post when you get back!!

My partner teacher joked with my class earlier this year and had them believing I was in line to become the next teacher in the space program ( This is pretty funny since I get motion sick, am afraid of heights, and I'm no spring chicken as they say) Anyway, the kids were pretty concerned but I played along talking about the great opportunity for adventure. You certainly have a great deal to think about but just being considered is a great honor.
My prayers will be with you as you make this decision.
Oh, just checking, it's not 4/1 again is it?
