WELCOME, JAMES!~At this time CL in the Dolphin is NOT able to guarantee a Heavenly bed. Hopefully, in the near future..this will be possible. You could ALWAYS request a Balcony room (in one of the wings w/view of Epcot or MGM) w/CL privs. The rooms are ALL deluxe sized-rooms, which is larger than a standard resort room. Very nice and comfy. Glad to have you on board...(hooked~LOL).

*On a somber note: DH's Dad passed this afternoon. DH flew to Punta Gorda, Fla. yesterday~as the family said he was growing weaker by the hour. He's been in the hospital for 9 days w/pneumonia and respiratory problems. He was a terrible asthmatic, and moved from Santa Barbara to Fla. to "breathe" better. He was 69. Please, keep us in your prayers and thoughts. Thanks...DF99

My condolences to DF on her family's loss at this difficult time. A good friend of mine just lost her father, and took solace in the memories her children had of their time with him.

Condolences to you, your husband and family Dreamflight. 69 is not old now days and when something happens to someone no matter what age it makes think that we need to stop rushing around and really look and smell the roses.

It'll be 2 years this April that DH (46) had quintuple bypass, not scheduled, and it makes you realize how special life is and to really enjoy EVERY moment of your life.

Just received an upgrade for our May stay at the Dolphin.

You might remember I wrote about our stay at the Swan over Thanksgiving and wasn't happy with the attitude of the check in clerk. I emailed as was advised here on this wonderful board and received a reply one (1 month) later saying they will look into it and follow up. Well it was now another month that passed by and I had still not heard anything so emailed back saying that customer service doesn't seem to be their priorty and that I would be cancelling my reservations for May, which I was going to do. Within hours, hours I get an email back saying that the hotel manager has mailed me something and I should receive it within 3-5 business days, still haven't gotten it yet. I quickly went online to see my reservations and I was upgrade to club level concierge. Now don't get me wrong I wasn't complaining in the hopes of an upgrade but in the fact that I felt I was treated with less than acceptable customer service.

On another note I just ordered THE HEAVENLY BED. I can't wait it'll take 6-8 weeks to deliver since they are custom made. I can hardly wait.

First, Dreamflight - I don't know you, but you feel like an old friend with all your wonderful reports, so you and your family have my sincerest condolences.

The dog pictures are lovely. Can I offer Muffy a holiday home over here!!!
Nuts4WDW - I'm a British nurse & Dolphin have promised they'll honour my nurses' discount, but I have to bring proof that I'm a registered nurse, so I take it from that that maybe student nurses don't get the discount. If I'm wrong, apologies.

I am so excited about our trip to Florida in April, and these boards are a wonderful source of information. I recall others suggesting DF99 write a book on all the hints and useful info about the Dolphin. Is something like that available? I can't remember all the hints I've read now!

We've got snow! Looking forward to Florida sunshine!!

DF ~ my condolences to all of you - 69 is so young! I, too, feel as if we are friends and my prayers go to you. My dad is 82 thankfully but I lost my mom at 57 years.

Welcome Gilligan - you will find this a great place to be - watch out it is addicting!

Your wishes and condolences on the passing of my DFIL are greatly appreciated (more than I'm able to express). You are all so supportive, and just logging on to this thread in the am has raised my spirits tremendously.

My FIL was actually only 68, turning 69 this June (young). He battled asthma his entire life. He moved from Santa Barbara to Fla. in hopes of breathing easier...but this seemed a temporary fix. We visited them for one eve last summer (Post-Cruise/Pre-Dolphin) and I'm happy we were able to see them and share some fun together. Who knew he only had 6 months left? Life...is definitely ever-changing and full of surprises which force us to face reality. These things always seemed to happen to "other" people, just as their children also grew-up and left home (never mine!). Your generous words and thoughtful kindness are wonderful and embraced with my sincere gratitude. Thank you.

Maria...Sorry for the problems your DH has suffered. My father has had similar problems, and these can be so unsettling. I'll keep you always in my thoughts, and wish for a long and healthy life for both you, your DH & Family. *Also thrilled to read about your UPGRADE! You will be much more pleased with this stay, I'm confident! Hooray for you!

nuts4wdw...I believe the nurses discount is only applicable for RN's (unless this has changed). They require an ID or a nurses certification/verification...etc. Any nurses out there to help me out with this? Please inform us as to the processing at check-in (for this discount), and what was required to insure the rate was applied. Thanks!

m.pots...turndown service is a nightly service provided by housekeeping. They turndown the beds, and leave chocolate (gold-foil wrapped medallions) on the pillows (with a weather report for the next day as well). You may call and request this service upon check-in. The housekeepers will also "refresh" the room with additional towels, etc. if needed/desired. It's a wonderful PERK!

Gilligan...WELCOME! I have been meaning to WRITE THAT BOOK...and will give all my Fellow DISers (& dedicated Dolphin/Swan posters) a FREE autographed copy! Oh...the details and finer points I could include...LOL!

Ozzie....what can I say? That little fuzzball is the CUTEST Doggie I've seen in a while! I'm back at the SPCA today to "exercise" some doggies in the big grassy pens! It certainly lifts my spirits and helps them too (I pray). I get down in the grass with them, and permit them to "shower" me with jumps and kisses! DD loves it SO much. We feel these dogs need the "human connection/love" just as much/more than they need exercise. I think you need to change the little pic. in the top left of your post (under your name) to this one!! Oh...it's absolutely to die for! LOL.
Muffy's is adorable too! These are our special "DOLPHIN DOGGIES", and they need to be shared/seen! Thanks for the lift...I needed it today. DF99

gilligan- i'm an "american" nurse going in april as well. 13-20th, maybe we can compare health industries lounging at the grotto pool. Highly recommend you get a spg card we got a great upgrade our first time without points on the card.
