Did they also announce that there will be more released at a later date? I went to the PO the other day and that is what the clerk told me. She said they will be limited, so get what you need.

On the US Postal shop web site it says release date is June 23rd, 2004. I personally, Can't wait!!!

They were actually announced last year and the design was shown a few months ago. The release date is June 23 at Disneyland with national sales starting the following day.

This news article tells you how to get reservations to go to the release ceremony if anyone is lucky enough to be in the area on the 23rd!!

This set celebrates "Friendship" while the next two in the series will be about "Celebration" and "Romance". Here's a site with good info on the choices of stamps, etc...

Our post office has had these on display for months. They were saying the release was mid-June, then another PO said for sure around the 4th of July. That PO also said there would be plenty, but if I wanted to I could order them online, delivered to my mailbox. I haven't figured out how to do that yet...

They are so cute, they would really be nice in a collage of some sort.

Has anyone ever ordered stamps online before? I was just reading the USPS website, and I think I figured out that they charge a $1 handling fee, but nothing else. So it would be the cost of the stamps plus $1, anyone know if that's correct? How long does delivery take? Tx!

My DH collects stamps and does this every now and then when he can't get to the post office....just the handling fee that I remember and quick shipping/delivery (they ARE the postal service after all ) Seems to me the $1 is well worth the time I'd spend standing in line at the local PO....ours usually has a LONG wait!! We'll be ordering....

Thank you! Yes, I am with you. Paying the $1 is MUCH better than taking my 3 small children with me to a crowded post office!!

You could see if our post office website will ship to you...and order them online...don't know if they ship international, but it's worth a shot The stamps won't be available until June 23 at the release ceremony, June 24 everywhere, and not sure when they put them up online for ordering...
