New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

When we were on the wish a few weeks ago a staff member who applied to work on the Destiny told us that it would be doing 5-night cruises out of Fort Lauderdale.
Well there ya go.

I bet Destiny becomes the permanent Fort Lauderdale ship that Disney's contract references, and the Dream is the seasonal ship. Probably splitting time between Florida and Europe.

I think it’s a safe bet that when Destiny enters service, it’s a safe bet that one of the three Triton ships will home port year round at Port Everglades. That said, while I’m certain The Mouse has a plan, it’s not final - and Disney tends to be very tightlipped.

It’ll be almost a year and a half before the Destiny enters service, and the Adventure will join the fleet before that. I’m very skeptical that Disney would be focusing on staffing the Destiny at this point in time.

Has Disney released any information about the Disney Treasure float out? After calculating the difference between the Disney Wish float out and the maiden voyage, there is a 153 days difference (02/11/2022 - 07/14/2022). So if we use the same number of days before the Treasure maiden voyage (on 12/21/2022), then the float out should have happened on July 21st.

Is Disney holding off because they don’t need so much practice as she’s the second ship in the class???

They still need to put her through the full paces to ensure everything was built well. Perhaps the three day Destiny announcement will coincide with Treasure's float out as long as they have our attention.

I think it might also depend on the Meyer Werft schedule. They float them out when they need the space inside the indoor dock. I thought the Treasure already had a floating test, so they know she floats. Currently it might be more convenient to work on her indoors.

They floated the treasure to move the ship to another berth so they could begin construction on the Destiny, I believe.
