New Disney Incentive

You know, after thinking about it, I am not sure where I got a Feb UY from. I think it went like this...I called DVC and the current UY month was Sept. Sept would have been perfect but we won't have the money until November and in no way wanted to finance--even for a few months. So, once past a Sept UY, a Dec UY was next--no good for us--to close to our Nov. travel. So, since Feb is the next UY, we decided on that since we (I)didn't want to wait much longer. I really don't know why we don't wait until we can get a Sept UY but I guess it's me being worried that DH could change his mind on the whole DVC idea. I need to run with this while I can. When Bernard and I wrapped up our conversation today, he did say he could get me a Feb UY now...Hmm..kind of made me think I might be able to nicely ask for a sept UY before we sign any papers...Otherwise, I am going to go with a Feb UY and be really happy. Also, I am hoping our vacation plans will someday change and we can go anytime--not be limited to Nov.

My head hurts!
From what I've read here on the boards, I think you can just ask for whatever UY you want and they can probably accommodate you. If you are specifically interested in the deal where you sell back your first-year points to get the lowest price per point then you might not have much say in which UY you get, but otherwise I think they will sell you whatever UY you prefer.

You also mention something else to consider: will your travel patterns change over time? It could be that the perfect UY for your current travel dates ends up being an inconvenient UY in the future. And, UY only really matters if you think you might have to cancel a trip.

Good luck with your decision!

Thanks everyone. I am still learning plenty about DVC! You have all been so helpful! :thumbsup2

What about my original two offers. Disney said they probally will not make it through because they are aggressivly going after Boardwalk ROFR.
Anyone know why Disney is going after Boardwalk aggressivly?

Just a guess, but I know when we added on at the beginning of July, we were only able to get half the amount we wanted at BWV and got waitlisted for the other half.

It took about 5 weeks to get the rest, so I'm guessing part of the reason might be they need the points for people on the waitlist.

Also, with the close promixity that BWV has to Epcot and the additional exposure during F&W, maybe Disney is anticipating additional interest in the resort. :confused3

I think this is true as well. My guide is out of the office until the 29th and I was worried about getting DEC use year. He told me not to worry, that he would get me DEC no matter what. I know my travel patterns will change over time so the only concern I had was getting in before 2007 use year points started.

I'm all set now, even though he is out of the office, My guide started the paperwork on my new contract yesterday.

I was told the exact same thing last July when I was debating buying through Disney or via resale. I ended up buying a resale ($84/pt). I don't study the ROFR thread as closely as I used to but last time I looked, I didn't see any evidence that Disney is being any more aggressive on BWV resales than they were when I bought last year. I even saw some sales go through at $83/point which is $1 less per point than what I paid last year. Not to say $83/point is still enough to pass -- it's possible that the ROFR price has edged up a bit since Disney's $3/pt price increase a few months ago.

ETA: Just took a quick look at the ROFR thread and it does look like the $3/pt increase is affecting BWV prices. Looks like $86/pt is what it takes to pass ROFR these days.

With SSR being 10 years longer than the other DVC, why would anyone not buy. 10 more years of vacations is a great deal. Am I missing something? I own WLV(500), BCV(250) & SSR(250), Will probably wait for a new resort and hope it will be for 60 years

One reason may be some of us have requests in to buy Boardwalk points!!

One reason why the extra years at SSR don't matter for some may be their age and having a hard time imagining themselves at WDW when they are over 100 to enjoy those last DVC years.

I own at Boardwalk too, I thought maybe I had missed some news. Maybe because it is so much cheaper than BeachClub, just a thought.

im thinking that the new resorts will have the same ending as ssr. anyone else thinking that. they had 6 dvc resorts that have the same ending.
i could be wrong, all we can do is wait and find out. by the time ssr runs out i will probaly be dead or wearing diapers so it wont matter to me.

I need a "referal" so that I can qualify for the $86 friends and family "buy in."

If you can help please PM all the detail I need.

Thank you,

cmkallen...
But heres the fun part Disney called last night. I was honest and told them I already had offers out there. They offered me there new incentive. Saratoga at $86 a point for 150 points or $12900 with a december use year and only $150 in closing costs. She said it was a $15 dollar off a point deal that just started. Sounds pretty good!.

Great News for you!! :cool1:
You must already have a DVC member on your rap sheet as a referral. I had an issue with the rules yesterday. A newbie called and was told that she must have a "member listed as her referral" in order to be eligible to purchase at the incentive price.
We took care of it immediately...and now...she's "waiting for the Fed Ex box!! ;) SWEET !!! :thumbsup2

Yes I had a friends name already listed. I ended up buying a 250 point Boardwalk package from Disney. I was on the wait list for one day. They also made sure my other offers I already had on the resale markey were bought back so I was not stuck with multiple packages.

Just got the fed-ex box yestedy. My kids like the tote bag that was included!

I want to buy a DVC. cURRENTLY it is around $15,000 for 150 pts. With Dec use year. What is the current special to buy and still keep December points? I guess I am sort of confused. Please help!!! And what is the special with a friend referal?

Take at look at this thread by WebmasterDoc who was thoughtful enough to call a guide and get all the details.
