My family has been thinking about joining the DVC for the last year. We are very interested in joining. My son and I are very excited about it. What’s holding back my wife is the long term commitment to the DVC, although she realizes that we will definitely travel to Disney World at least once a year anyway. The other issue of course is the cost. But now with the 15th Anniversary Purchase Incentive, it makes the issues mute. I understand from other discussion threads that the referral must already be in the records.

We are already in the DVC records since we talked to them extensively in August 2005 and received their member information package. We also took the tour at Saratoga Springs Resort while we were at Disney World last May. Could anyone tell me how the referral works so that I can get it into my existing records to take advantage of the incentive?

All you need to do is call your salesperson and mention that someone tipped you off to the new referral price. They will ask for the name of the referring member, and offer you the lower price.

Question---We are seriously considering a DVC purchase. I have been reading and reading and all this is making my brain hurt...LOL!! If we buy now, we will not get any pts. to use right away??? We have a DL trip planned for March and would love to use some pts. to stay at a Disney resort. Could someone please help me understand? I keep reading about 2005 pts. and all.....what gives? I'm confused!

I am so with you on the confusion! We want to buy at OKW but see the resale page that says you can save $5-$10 a point but with a referral I could save $15 so I think buying would be good for us. But I don't get all of it and how it really works out.

Please let me know what you have learned and how I can get a referral. Thank you, April

Yes...this is a new incentive and will likely be around for a while. Since they just annoucned AKV, they want to sell out SSR quickly.

I don't know about that. AKV will not begin to open for a year, and more often than not DVC has had more than one resort for sale at the same time.

I would advise people considering this deal to at least make contact with a DVC salesperson to try and determine how long they have to buy at this price. Right or wrong, I've already seen people report (speculate?) that this deal is a brief annivarsary sale only and will be gone before long.

We are in the process of figuring out where and what to buy. FWIIW, (today) my guide said the incentive will continue until "at least the middle of November".

We were on the 11 night Wonder cruise and added on 115 points at 86.00 per point and no closing cost. I also think that if you added on 130 points at 90 per point you received 2 annual passes.

I just talked to my DVC guide this morning who informed me that the offer is still on although he was not willing/able to tell for how much longer.

We are getting ready to add-on 120 more points at SSR - with the current incentive. Our guide said that he couldn't guarantee that this incentive would last past October since that is their anniversary month. Of course, he said it may last longer but we decided we didn't want to take that chance. We're already planning trips for 2007!

We had originally asked about the free annual passes but that incentive is over and he never mentioned the 130 points at $90 with the two annual passes as someone else mentioned. We don't want any more than 120 so we'll just go thru with what is planned.
