4/30-5/13/25 to make the gift card purchase, according to DOC comments the resulting shopping trip coupon for $10 expires 5/20. Safeway pretty consistently offers a 4x bonus on gift card purchases on Sat-Sun, so could be worth waiting for the weekend to see if you can stack.

Smart & Final -
$20 coupon for future shopping trip when purchasing $100 or more on participating gift cards.
5/7-5/13/25 for gift card purchase, coupon must be redeemed by 5/20/25.
Full offer and multi page list of gift cards
Offer good on all gift cards except: VISA, Mastercard, Apple, Amazoni,The Home Depot, Starbucks, Open Loop, Telecom, Tracfone, Net-10 and Smart & Final gift cards.
Note: Smart and Final used to have Disneyland tickets as part of this list, but not Disney gift cards, that has swapped, which is excellent in my opinion.

Does Ruler Foods sell Disney gift cards? We don't have any national grocery store chains in our area but do have a Ruler Foods about 20-25 miles away. When Kroger gift card deals post, I often wonder if it would be worth the drive. The closest Kroger is 2 counties away.

The Ruler foods in my area has Disney gift cards!

make sure to keep your gift cards. I had to have 3 days of a friend’s LL refunded to my payment which was a gift card.
Always!! I keep 2-3 hard cards and transfer e-cards to them/consolidate for this exact reason.

The 4x gift card does stack. I did it this past weekend at Safeway. Just a heads up, I have went and brought LOTS in the past and got a $10 coupon each time. This past weekend, it printed the first one, but the 2nd one I got nothing. Asked customer service said they had no idea. Still got 4x points on both.

I'm curious what everyone's overall gift card strategy is.

I know not everyone is DVC, so buying a lot of GC to pay for the entire vacation package makes sense. In that case, hit up every deal you can!

But as someone who is DVC, I have my lodging paid for. I do still stockpile GCs throughout the year and keep them saved in a spreadsheet, because I know I can use them towards my dues (roughly $1,200/year) or for Park tickets. I also will use them towards a Disney Cruise, but we are likely 2-3 years away from going on one of those (waiting for my kids to get to specific ages).

We also don't go frequently enough for APs and likely won't ever try the "do two trips in 11-months" thing and then take a year off from AP.

So really, my GCs are just to pay for dues and pay for park tickets. I might consider having some extra to use as spending cash in the parks, but personally I just like to spend on my credit card for dining and merchandise as that helps me from overspending on needless things (lol) whereas I feel the park tickets are a needed purchase worth "stockpiling" for.

I just counted and so far this year I've already stockpiled roughly $1,100 in gift cards. Our next trip isn't until March '26. I'll keep buying to account for my expected dues payment as well as the expected cost for the adults and kids for our next trip--but I'm also a sucker for a good day, and if I keeping seeing 10-15% off, I'll probably keep buying. Call it the Disney savings fund!
