Oh Citi... so for anyone not in the know about Citi IT - they make Disney IT look competent. At the end of the day I think I'll clear $1k DGC for 17.5% off if the 5% extra from Rakuten clears as I did the deal on my Custom Cash and Strata Premier.

The primary on the Citi account needs to do this or at least take their phone with you/have them on call with time to spare for the fraud alerts.

Did it today, took about half an hour. (CVS actually allowed me to buy $500 DGCs which surprised me, although they did require a scan of my drivers license and self check-out wouldn't process it). Probably not the best use of my time lol but I was determined and over the years I've had many a merry go around with Citi Fraud/IT, I'd packed my patience. Numerous failed text messages & multiple phone calls later I got both of my transactions through. My other player got annoyed and gave up- this is not a deal for the impatient.

Luckily, I didn't have the same fraud issues, but they did require scanning my drivers license as well.

Did your Rakuten track properly? I already got notification that my purchase tracked but it's only 750 points (my Rakuten pays in MRs). I couldn't find in the terms, but is there a max credit that I hit?

Is it me or has the price of DGCs gone up at BJs? Was excited to receive another $10 BJs coupon with a $150 spend but it barely feels like a deal anymore and unlike Target Circle, you actually have to spend $150 for the coupon to kick in. I got a membership because everyone said BJs regularly had the best price plus lots of coupons or deals throughout the year but this past year I haven't seen that and leaning toward not renewing...

I think they have stay the same for the past couple of years. They used to be slightly cheaper but not much.

It is annoying that you have to spend the $150 when that card is discounted so you have to find something small to add.

I certainly get my money’s worth at BJ’s but I don’t use them for the Gift Cards since both BJ’s and Sam’s are usually under 5% savings on Disney cards unless I have a coupon plus rewards and have bought a Visa/MC from Staples or Office Depot/Max with my CIC.

Target is always going to be the easy play to get a straight 5% off with no work.

I honestly forgot they existed. I unlinked and closed my account out around when they introduced fees so I haven't kept up. But I recall it was helpful in the Gift Card game so someone here might want to prepare.

If I am remembering correctly, BJ’s usually had the Disney gift cards for around 4% off. Then at times it could go up, such as for Black Friday. The end of 2024 they seemed to offer deals more often than usual/for longer periods of time, but I thought in the past the percentage off was even greater during those deal times.

Yes I checked out with things that earn rewards however they changed it so that you no longer earn 1% rewards with any payment method.
I used to earn 6% with Discover and Freedom when in the quarter offering Target (5% CC and 1% cartwheel/circle)

I believe you can only earn rewards if using a red card (which I have but would rather not use as I'm usually working on a CC signup bonus) or you can earn them when targeted like others have mentioned the spend xxx so many times get x in rewards.

They did send emails before with notice of impending expiration. I'm not sure I'd want to count on it because things change and glitches happen. But I expect they would try to warn you still.

You never got rewards with the RedCard, it was 5% off using the card or earn 1% in rewards using other payments. They removed the 1% with the relaunch last year and rechecking the FAQs it looks like you only earn during promotions - so far that's these bonus offers.

I've used both Target GC (that used to earn 1% ) and the RedCard (really the Circle Card now ) this past year and I only have the $15 reward from a bonus in my Circle balance.

Wait, they stopped that 1% altogether! That's frustrating. I hadn't noticed because lately I've only been buying DGC with my redcard and then using my Circle rewards for merch, so I wouldn't have earned anyway. Definitely need to watch that expiration, then, if they're only crediting on bonuses.

BJ's used to be $95.99 and I believe they ae now $96.99 for the $100 DGC, it went up a year or two ago. BJ's seems to have a deal either every or every other month that you spend X amount on specific items and you get a $10 reward. Sometimes it's buy X amount on snacks or X amount on health and beauty etc. It's usually seems to be a $30 to $40 spend but I have seen the requite more but I I also got a bigger reward ($20 reward). Those rewards can be used for DGC's which is nice so your savings with a $10 reward on a $100 card is roughly 13%.

As @eticketplease said, Target is always the go to when you don't want to work for it.

On the BJ's Gift Cards, don't use the BJ's branded Mastercard because you won't get the 5% cash back, use a different credit card that gives benefits.

Can anyone confirm if the $5 off $25 or more at Dollar General includes regular gift cards? Fine print excludes "prepaid financial cards" but to me that means the prepaid Visa/Mastercard.

Only you can answer that one. We all have different levels and even then the levels change depending on how much time we have to accumulate what we need.

That is what I got as well Transactions of 1 $100 DGC and 1 $25 DGC = $118.75 x 4 = $475 - $40 Reward = $435 = 13% off $500 in DGC to me...
