New code watch - October/November

I guess I have to look at it this way, from the information I have saved here and booking each part seperately I have saved at least 1500 on our trip. Not to bad for a simple AAA membership and using mousesavers. That lets us stay at a moderate a few more days than we would have without! If the AP codes come out I guess that will just be a bonus

Well, if there is not a deal for my time period, I will be using priceline or hotwire...nobiggie.

Will these companies actually offer a price lower than Disney will offer directly? :listen:

No, I will just use them to get an off property stay fro the price range I am looking at.

What's the FL resident glitch? Do you think there will be AP codes? I never seen them take this long. :confused3

If Disney are forced to honour those "rogue" FL residents rates then it may mean the end of the road for anyone else waiting for rates especially us AP holders

Hope I'm wrong but it looks like quite a costly computer glitch to me

I guess I'll start thinking about plan B - with only 4 weeks to go till I leave from the UK I'm starting to think that it may be an offsite visit for me !!

I'll still get my Disney fix just maybe not in the luxury I was hoping for

Me too- I am a big fan of staying onsite but I think we may be going to SkyAuction and getting something this trip. I am planning my first October trip and when I bought airfare I was expecting my dates to be value season. Now it is regular season and with no discounts I think we may just have to go offsite this time.
May give us a chance to do some non-Disney stuff this time, which we don't usually do. Have you seen how cheap a 4 park 14 day ticket is to Universal?! Great deal.

Just got a Passholder email and it was about Best Rate Program.

I think I have officially lost hope for an AP rate. :sad1:

What did the email say about the BRP?

Since we introduced the Passholder Best Rate Program for Disney Resorts in the August Mickey Monitor, we’ve made it even better:

Book Best Rates closer to your arrival date!
Now instead of 120 days out, you can book a stay in a Disney Resort as close as 60 days before your arrival. This means you can now book stays most nights for November and December arrivals, as well as arrivals through 2/15/06.

Book Extra Best Rate days!
And to make your holidays a little more magical, we have now added 12/20/05–12/25/05 to the available travel dates. That’s six more days for the eligible arrival period, and more time to enjoy all the Disney holiday fun.

Just visit disneyworld.com/passholder to see all the details about the program and make your reservations today. But hurry—rooms are sure to book up quickly!

We’re always excited to provide new and improved Passholder benefits—to thank you for “making yourself right at home” with us.

Sincerely,

Christian Dhyne

Hi barbemel:
I just received the same e-mail. I'm beginning to wonder if they're going to give AP rates as well. Maybe they feel they have enough booked vacations that they don't need to give the AP rates. I hope I'm wrong. I was really hoping that was an e-mail to say the AP rates are out.

I recieved the same email. I believe this the inevitable sign of NO AP RATES AHHHHH...I always get this email when they release the rates...I saw on another thread that Mousesavers believes this is it BRP or nothing.. What rates were released to general public to make BRP worth it??? I have AAA rate for the POP Oct. 7 - Oct 15. Is that the rate they are offering to all of the BRP people in November?? The Florida resident rate was not much better. This is a big let down... :guilty:

If they've been packing the place for Halloween, Thanksgivng and Christmas, why would they offer discounts? I'd LOVE to get a great rate, but don't know why they'd offer it.

It will be interesting to observe the impact of high fuel prices on WDW and other popular destinations. Will we all be willing and able to cough up extra $$$ for travel, or will tourism start to suffer after a while?

I amfinally home on my own computer and able to check my personal email account, and I got the same email. (I find it funny how my work computer allows me check the DIS boards but not my personal Yahoo mail, anyway. . .) I also received a response back from an email I sent to WDW Online Communication. Here it is. . .

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

While we sincerely appreciate your interest, we are not currently
offering any reduced rates for

Hi!
My reservation #XXXXXXXX for our family's upcoming WDW trip. I am
trying to get the best Disney trip
for my money, however the MYW dining free plan ends 10/4. The AP Best
Rate plan window falls after
our stay. There seems to be a black hole of about 2 weeks where there
is no savings for anyone other
than FL residents. Is there any code or discount that can help me
before my final payment is due on
8/31/05? Help!
Thank you. Mrs. X (a loyal Disney Visa Card Holder/WDW Lover)

UGH!! Well I think that this correspondence sums its up. No discounts/codes for the Black Hole of October! :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

p.s. my dates our 10/15-18

I called about 11am and the CM said no AP rates today. He was surprised that I was his first AP rate call of the day. Take it for what it's worth, but he thinks they will be out this week.

Lori

There's another thread in this forum from a travel agent which states that Disney confirmed that there will no longer be AP rates and the Best Rate Program is all that will be offered.
