New code watch - October/November

Why oh why couldnt they have made the change to BRP on the 20th?!?!?! I need to check in on 10/20......geesh

I am beginning to believe there will not be AP rates at all. Maybe BRP is the now the only way to get it.

Eh, we probably shouldn't assume they lied until we're really certain one way or another. Thinking of how big businesses usually work, I kinda wonder if the higher-ups have even come to a firm decision yet.

...Some poor guy sitting in his office, workin' his way through a huge stack of paperwork, finds a note he left himself last month to "do something" about that pesky code launch....

But I'm a cynic LOL

I can't complain about my current AP (first time DH and I have had them). We got APs for our trip last November with the intention of taking two trips with them. Because there were AP rates, we took a "bonus" trip in May. Our upcoming October trip will be #3, and we will have spent 22 days in the parks with one pass. Also, DDE has already saved us money and we will save quite a bit for our group of 7 in October.

However, I can't help but wonder if Disney is on track to phase out APs altogether. All of the deals and incentives (free dining, Food & Wine add on, etc.) have been useless for AP holders. Without deep room discounts, I have no incentive to buy another AP, especially when there are tempting deals for non AP holders.

At the end of the day, Disney is a business. If Best Rate is a bust, they will try something else. If no "regular" AP room discount codes translates into a drop in business, they will adjust accordingly.

But I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope we get AP codes for October/November!!!

I give up- I am calling today and switching my basic package (was waiting for a package incentive) to an AAA room only. Was waiting for gen. public codes or package incentives but the FL res rates aren't that great and with no AP rates out I think AAA may be my best bet. I can still hope for a discount but it is a pain switching ressies around.

ugh- i just called and aaa rates are gone for my dates too! Lesson learned- a bird in the hand!

I have AAA rates for AKL, deluxe savanah view Nov. 19-25 that I'm almost sure I'm going to cancel. I'll post when I do in case anyone needs them.

I just saw the FL Resident rates and was surprised at how high they were. I agree that even if AP rates do come out - there will be limited availability and high prices. Now I'm totally flipped out that I have no room and don't know what I'm going to do!!!

I'm going to call the Swan/Dolphin and see if any of the rooms blocked for the conference have been released yet. If not, it's probably off to Expedia for me to see what I can get on a moderate (although I really didn't want to do anything but a deluxe...but the price is now eating into my dining budget).

What the heck is going on at Disney? I guess AP holders are just screwed for October 5th - 16th.

Have a question? I've been reading the thread for Oct/Nov code watch. We are planning a short trip Nov 1,2, & 3. I've checked AAA as well as WDW website and I am not finding all these great deals everyone talks about. Maybe due to the fact we are only staying 2nights and doing a 3 day base ticket. If anyone can help me with ideas to save money, I'd be greatful. Also, everyone keeps discussing the extension of free dining plan. Is it possible this might happen? What gives everyone that idea? I read they opened the free dining to draw in more people during the hurricane season. Thanks guys. :disrocks:

We are expecting/hoping that Disney will release some codes for the Fall any day this week. As of now there are only codes available for check-in up to October 4. I am looking for an Annual Pass rate in particular, but others are hoping they will extend free dining or some other type of general public code/rate.

If they do release the codes, some are limited in quantity so you have to act fast. They may be available for 2 nights/3 days depending on what they offer. The dining plan going on now was.

Also in the "black hole"-
But just to let you all know: when my TA called yesterday ( and spoke to 6 different people)- she asked about the "free dining program" and if the CM thought the may extend it or run it again.... and his word's to her were "They'll (WDW) never offer a promotion like that ever again"

But as we'll all know here on the DIS ... take everything that a CM says with a grain of salt.

I got this in my email today. If this is all they're gonna offer- I'm in big trouble! BTW_ This offer does require a pin that was attached to the email. I did not post the PIN due to DIS rules.

Doesn't really help me much, but I'm still hoping for AP rates for November!

This is a good thing though! The good news is that there is an offer out now for November! I'll keep my fingers crossed for all you October folks!

Sorry guys! It appears that when you do the math, there is NO DEAL here! It's just the regular rates dressed up. :(

Right!!
I just did a package as this described. I honestly don't think its a special deal. I think its just a randomly generated email we sometimes get made to look like a deal. I am thinking this is the price before tax is applied.

Because after tax if you stay 6 nights at All Stars, 7 day base ticket with tax for Nov 1-7 your price is 1481.39. That would be a savings of 131.39. IFthis is the quote with tax (which I doubt).

If you stay Nov 27 - Dec 3 then your price is 1413.39 which would be a savings of 63.39. Again IF the "less than 1350" is quoted with tax.

Last time I waited for codes like this they did not come out until page 100 or so of the thread! That was Winter 2005 for June 2005. We have awile to go yet!!!

Here's something from my last time waiting:

This is the third time I've been waiting to use AP rates, and each time, the DIS boards seem to follow the same pattern.

1. The thread starts out young and naive, eagerly awaiting the imminent release of codes. :goodvibes

2. By page 15 or 20, some folks start getting frantic, but the majority of poster realize we're still months away from a code. :hyper:

3. By page 40, fear begins to set in. People are convince that even if codes come out, there won't be enough! :scared:

4. By page 55, the hysteria has taken root! Disney already has too many bookings! Codes aren't coming out!

5. At some point, we're going to hit page 90, and all bets are off. Seas boil, mountians tremble, vacations are cancelled or resort expectations are downgraded to value, or even (dare I mention it) off-site. :confused3 :headache:

6. Magically, one morning... CODES ARE RELEASED! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: The boards light up with happy posters! Some poor saps aren't able to get into their preferred resort in time, but they at least have the option of selecting a different resort, if they choose.

7. Code Day + 1. Relieved reservation-holders bash their computers with a hammer and vow never to go through this again. :badpc:

All I'm saying is, don't worry until you have something to worry about! Or, as my dad would say, I'll give you something to cry about! :teeth:

To any other Code-Veterans -- does that sound about right? :p
