New code watch - October/November

Your post has really cleared things up for me. And I am going to stop at your post because the ones below it re-muddle me. So. I will take your input, put it in my pocket and live happily ever after, until the code comes out and then I will bananadance

I made reservations last year for Poly Concierge in June and then called when AP rates came out and was able to get the rate applied to my room. AND..this was also during the golf event. I don't know if things will be different because of the best rate thing but they did have AP rates during the golf event last year. I've got AAA rate now and hoping for AP but know I want to stay Poly so I'll be OK with just AAA.

I also hope that I just got a bad CM but to happen 6 or 7 times, I felt it unlikely. I tried to wait but for me personaly I am not waiting any longer, I am sure that the hotels will be blasted with golf heads but that just means that if they can sell all of the rooms for the higher rate they will, face it, they are in the buis to make money as well. And it could just be for the Deluxe hotels but I found it strange that they posted that some of the discounts are out till DEC but not all, I don't remember them ever spliting the codes up! All I can suggest is that you keep hounding them for the AP discounts. We have a good time no matter what and thats why we take the torture year after year to get the best deal, this will actually be our 4 time this year and we have 1 more time after this in DEC( It's nice when your wife is a travel agent) to enjoy the Christmass spirit at WDW. I would book a room if you are going within 120 days and then cancel and make a new res when and if the codes come out with the code. God bless

Yes but because there is a PGA at WDW there will not be any codes for the 16th thru the 23rd. You are not guranteed a discount is what they will tell you. and depending on where you want to stay there will be no huge offer. If you read what it says on the best price offer it says the best price to the public(which means everyone gets the same price? All I can tell you is for the week of the 16th thru 23rd they are not giving codes for the deluxe maybee for the moderate, they told us to change our trip so that we could book it for the best rate program, so that we could book it 120 days out, which we never do because we always watch for the codes on mousesaver, if you go thru mousesaver she will tell you the skinny on all of it, it is a wave of change for Disney. So that leads me to just buy in and be done with it. I certainly hope that you all have better luck for the weeks than I did I just bought into the boardwalk villas, I never have to worry about the code wait again, and as for us as many times as we go it is worth it, we have enough points to go for 4 weeks a year. check the passholder site or try to book a room for the weeks that every one is looking for see what happens,We tryed and and tryed no go maybee I am reading into it all wrong, it seams to me that they are going to do away with it just like the Disney club card. God bless and good luck. :confused3

We have stayed at the Poly the last 3 years during the PGA and have gotten an AP rate.

Keep in mind, if you cancel using the AP Best Rate program you lose one nights deposit. They say NO modifications, NO changes. Period. Seems if one would change it, like extend it, etc. that they wouldn't mind ... but that is what the "rules" say and also the CMs. Keep in mind I talked with a CRO yesterday that still didn't know about the best rate program -- so she asked me about it -- and said "sounds like a good deal ...first I heard of it."

We booked CSR for Nov on the best rate program last night saving us 40 a night. Is it either the best rate program or the AP code but not both? We were concerned that we would lose the AP Code because we are participating in the best rate program and the best rate offers the participant the lowest general public rate. Does my question make sense? I guess what I'm asking is the AP rate typically lower than the lowest general public rate and are the AP codes going to be applied to those ressies on the Best Rate program?

The "best rate" is the best rate. By getting in this program you are guaranteed the lowest possible rate. So if the AP rate is lower than what you got through best rate, they should apply that rate. That is why WDW did this program, so that AP holders didn't have to worry about getting the best rate on their own. But AP holders who are out of the 120 day window, like myself can keep calling and hoping they will come out with a rate for us.

Hope this helps!

Go to the official WDW web site go into the section for passholders, they are starting a new program it is called Disney's preffered rate program it states that the only way to get the AP discounts is to book online and it has to be 120 days in advance. We are going Oct16-30th and they said that there will be no codes, it all has to be booked thru the AP site on WDW site. I called customer no service and they told me that I could talk to God himself and they would still notgive a rate change, so if you are going in less than 120 days from now you are like me OUT OF LUCK, they also told me that because you have a season pass does not gaurantee a disc. I booked my trip through AAA localy and got a ok disc, it was $300.00 for the entire trip. Also if you are boking for the week of the 16TH OF Oct depending where you want to stay you maybee out of luck, that is the week of the PGA tournement and they are very full!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when we booked for the Boardwalk they had only 4 rooms left two weeks ago, the Swan and Dolphin are full as well as a lot of the other Hotels. I complained because I thought that Disney should have sent a letterat the begining of the year telling all the pass holders of their new plans, they said it was in the magazine I should have read it a little better. The more peoplr that complain the better it will be. If any one needs the web site to complain E-mail me.

Well I have talked to several CM's and none of them have told me this! We already had our trip booked for October 14-22 and we were out of the 120 day window when WDW announced the new "best rate program" on June 17th. So, I have called and there have been several posts on here that there WILL be an AP rate coming out for those who aren't in the best rate program. The only thing that program does, is it takes out the work for the AP holder. Once you are in the program you don't have to keep looking for better rates, it is automatically applied for you. Hence "best rate". I have been told to keep calling back by SEVERAL CM's to get the rates for the 14-22. Until I read your post, I had never heard of the PGA tour taking up all the hotel rooms.

After reading the last post I think that there maybee some confusion, I realize that all the hotels at Disney are not full, what I mean is that the hotel of our choice is full. Also in order to get the "best rate program" you can not book unless you have a already in use season pass or do you get a code? When you go to the AP section you need a pass number to enter correct?I am not trying to @#$% any body off just trying to help, I have been doing this whole thing for a long time,I have over 45 trips to Disney, which may not sound like much to you folks that live close but by auto it's 17 hours, we usually go twice a year sometines more so much that it pushed my wife into school 10 years ago to be a travel agent she books Disney trips only. So take it for what it's worth we are only trying to help.

I understand you are not trying to #@$$ anyone off, but your posts just had conflicting information. And yes you do need an active AP to use the best rate, but you can put in your voucher number to book and it will then activate your AP when you book. That is one of the down sides to the best rate program too. I don't have 45 trips under my belt, just a lot of reading and information. I just wanted to clear a few of the things you said up, for those who might have gotten confused. As most of us have with this new program. I was a little confused and worried when I booked my trip and bought an AP and then found out about the best rate program, and that our trip didn't qualify because of the 120 days. I have done research and called a lot. I am just happy we are going, no matter rack rate or AP rate. Hopefully they have general AP rates soon!!

Question:
Where did you see information that your voucher will be activated when you book?? I don't think that is the case. I understand the voucher is tied to your name that way you can book but still isn't activated until you exchange it for a real ticket at the parks.

Your AP does not active when you book using the Best Rate. You activate it at the park when you begin your trip. I used the Best Rate using my voucher. It has not been activated yet.

Oh sorry, I thought that was the case seeing as you had to have an active pass in order to book the best rate. My fault.

But you don't have to have an active pass to book it online. You simply put in your voucher number.

Yeah I am sorry! I misinterpreted an article I read. I re read it, and apologize for my mistake :guilty:

here's a stupid question. I just booked POFQ on the AAA website for Oct 27-30th. If and when the AP codes come out, do I have to go online and cancel the reservation and rebook by calling Disney Reservations or do I call Disney directly and can they change it?
