New code watch - October/November

I'm looking for November 24-27, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Deluxe savannah bunk bed room. The rest of the stay we will be at OKW.

I already have the room booked, just need a discount. I am also constantly trying on the passholder website for the Best Rate plan, but so far all they have are deluxe water view or regular savannah view. I've already told my kids that the room has bunk beds and overlooks the savannah, so I can't make a change.

I remember the rates coming out the end of August last year for this time period, as we always go in either October or late November, depending on whether we plan to do MVMCP or MNSHP.

I've got AKL, deluxe savanah bunk bed, also reserved, for Nov. 19-25. On the best rates site I can get a rate for GF and BWI, but not AKL, deluxe savanah view. I've got a AAA rate. The 10% AAA discount is only 5% more than the 15% discount that best rates is showing for the other resorts on my dates.

We're pretty much checking in as you check out, but maybe we'll run into each other in the hallway! :)

Thanks for the info on AAA. I need to try that route too! 10% off is better than rack!

I noticed that the FW rates were out -don't the ap rates follow soon after that?>

FINALLY! They came out with a Deluxe savannah room at AKL on the Passholder Best Rate plan. I've booked it and canceled my original ressie. Saved $80 per night!!!

You're killin' me. That's exaclty what I have reserved (at AAA rate.) But DH doesn't want to make the trip, so I sure can't put down a non-refundable deposit before I convince him. (Also, at the moment, air fares for my dates are WAY high.)

Simple solution - leave him behind! :rotfl2:

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if I book and then the AP rate comes out afterwards, I can have them retroactively apply the discount, right?

Yes Ophie, when you book and AP rates come out, you can call and modify your reservation. I have already booked CSR for October, I am just waiting on the AP rates. Hopefully we get one!

Thanks for the quick answer. I'm looking at October too. I want to bring some people down for F&W.

I've really thought about that. I made the reservations for Nov. 18-25 in August of 2004. In May of this year, DH joined a choral group that is giving a concert on Nov. 20th. So, in DH's opinion, that is supposed to be that...but I made our reservations 9 months before he joined the choral group....I'm truly thinking of going and having us join us on the 21st. We would have such fun without him.

Go to the official WDW web site go into the section for passholders, they are starting a new program it is called Disney's preffered rate program it states that the only way to get the AP discounts is to book online and it has to be 120 days in advance. We are going Oct16-30th and they said that there will be no codes, it all has to be booked thru the AP site on WDW site. I called customer no service and they told me that I could talk to God himself and they would still notgive a rate change, so if you are going in less than 120 days from now you are like me OUT OF LUCK, they also told me that because you have a season pass does not gaurantee a disc. I booked my trip through AAA localy and got a ok disc, it was $300.00 for the entire trip. Also if you are boking for the week of the 16TH OF Oct depending where you want to stay you maybee out of luck, that is the week of the PGA tournement and they are very full!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when we booked for the Boardwalk they had only 4 rooms left two weeks ago, the Swan and Dolphin are full as well as a lot of the other Hotels. I complained because I thought that Disney should have sent a letterat the begining of the year telling all the pass holders of their new plans, they said it was in the magazine I should have read it a little better. The more peoplr that complain the better it will be. If any one needs the web site to complain E-mail me.

I and others emailed WDW and got phone calls back explaining that there still will be AP codes as usual where you can phone in. You just won't get the best rate. The only way to get the LOWEST prices is to book through the Best Rate Program.

We booked CSR for Nov on the best rate program last night saving us 40 a night. Is it either the best rate program or the AP code but not both? We were concerned that we would lose the AP Code because we are participating in the best rate program and the best rate offers the participant the lowest general public rate. Does my question make sense? I guess what I'm asking is the AP rate typically lower than the lowest general public rate and are the AP codes going to be applied to those ressies on the Best Rate program?

According to the CM who phoned me, in Disney's eyes, "public codes" include AP codes. So, the Best Rate program will get you the lowest rate offered to APs also.

Yes but because there is a PGA at WDW there will not be any codes for the 16th thru the 23rd. You are not guranteed a discount is what they will tell you. and depending on where you want to stay there will be no huge offer. If you read what it says on the best price offer it says the best price to the public(which means everyone gets the same price? All I can tell you is for the week of the 16th thru 23rd they are not giving codes for the deluxe maybee for the moderate, they told us to change our trip so that we could book it for the best rate program, so that we could book it 120 days out, which we never do because we always watch for the codes on mousesaver, if you go thru mousesaver she will tell you the skinny on all of it, it is a wave of change for Disney. So that leads me to just buy in and be done with it. I certainly hope that you all have better luck for the weeks than I did I just bought into the boardwalk villas, I never have to worry about the code wait again, and as for us as many times as we go it is worth it, we have enough points to go for 4 weeks a year. check the passholder site or try to book a room for the weeks that every one is looking for see what happens,We tryed and and tryed no go maybee I am reading into it all wrong, it seams to me that they are going to do away with it just like the Disney club card. God bless and good luck. :confused3

There is ALWAYS something going on at WDW, especially in Oct (F&W, conventions, MNSSHP, etc), so the fact that the PGA is going to be there doesn't guarantee that their won't be call in AP or other discounted resort rates available. I would think that only WDW savvy people like those on the DIS are aware of the "best rate" program, and I bet many chose not to book or were unable to book for the month of Oct due to the 120 window rule. So, if WDW can fill their entire resort capacity for Oct with the PGA and the few people who were able to get a decent rate with the "best rate" program, than they I guess I should run to my broker and buy some stock.... I'm sure it will be crowded the week leading up through Columbus Day due to the free dining and the holiday. I am still holding out hope that I will be able to get some sort of discount.
