I just got a call from DVC member services regarding the CP package that goes on sale August 26. The cast member told me that there is no tier system this year, meaning that all CP packages will cost the same. When I tried to do my dining reservations at 180 days out for Christmas eve, Le Cellier, Garden Grill and I think Coral Reef were not available fro reservations. I somehow do not get a warm and fuzzy feeling about the cost and restaurant availability for this years CP package.

Are you on the dining plan?

They do all cost the same on the dining plan.

Yes we are on the dining plan. It will cost 2 credits. Does this include an appetizer. I gues I am concerned that Le Cellier will cost the same as the Biergarten if that is all that is available.

On the Dining plan it is 2TS credits per person, whether you dine at garden Grill, Biergarten or Le Cellier. You can not go by availibility on line. The tables for the pkg have been pulled from inventory till Aug 26so just b/c nothing is available now does not mean ,nothing is available for the CP

On the dining plan, all restaurants and all meals for the CP package cost two credits in 2009, regardless of the type of restaurant or whether the meal you eat is considered lunch or dinner. So yes, to dining plan users, Biergarten would cost the same as Le Cellier. Last year you did get an appetizer on the basic unless you chose Biergarten or Garden Grill.

As to whether or not the tier system will be eliminated in 2010 for cash reservations, we have yet to see that. The info will likely show up on websites prior to August 26. Since you're on the dining plan they may have been just notifying you that all the CP package meals cost 2 credits.

See the above post. You can't get a CP package just by booking a reservation at a restaurant. You can start booking CP packages August 26 and tables have been held back for the packages. However, if you want Le Cellier you should probably be ready to be on the phone as soon as they open on August 26, because almost everyone is going to want Le Cellier.

Is there another question in there, tgropp?

I dont know what happened there. I had just wrote that a CM had informed me that all Le Cellier dining reservations form 4-8 PM were being held back for CP packages during the CP performances. I am not sure how the other message got posted.

LOL! Fat fingers or something - glad you're set - well at least for the moment!

That isn't true, anyway, because I've seen people on the board who have gotten Le Cellier reservations in December, although availability was limited. Could be they just meant that all non-CP spots are currently booked.

1) All CP meals must be reserved via phone.
. . . no on-line ressies
. . . if meal is booked on-line, it will not be a CP package
2) The tiers are still there, but for non-DDP folks.
3) For DDP, all CP meals are 2TS, regardless of location.

Any word on the costs involved yet for each tier? I imagine it will be more than last year but I wonder how much more?

I'm planning to add the DDP to my DVC booking, but haven't done so yet. How does it work? When I call to book CP dinner package do they reserve it with a credit card? Then pay at time of the meal - either with money or DDP credits?

Not true. I have two ADRs for Le Cellier the week of Dec 4th-12th (one for lunch and one for dinner). I booked them back in early June, back when they were having that computer glitch that was allowing 190 day out bookings. Mine is just a regular dinner ADR, not a CP pkg.

Wow.....that blows me away. I tried to make Le Cellier dinner reservations at 7 A.M. at the 180 day mark for dinner for any date from Dec 19 through the 26'th. There was nothing available on line and when I called Disney Dining there was nothing available. The cast member told me that they were holding all reservations for the CP. I emailed Member Services at DVC and they returned my call and apologized for taking all the reservations away for the CP packages but that they would call me when they went on sale. Lo and behold, they called me last week to tell me when they would go onsale. She then told me that I could book online at 6 A.M. or call Disney dining at 7 A.M. . Congratulations on getting your ressies. What a runaround I seem to have got. I will be up early on the 26'th of August.

Read the post above yours...because of a problem with the Disney Dining online system people were making reservations at 190 days out, not 180. Le Cellier is a small restaurant to start with and a number of tables were being held back for the Candlelight Processional. It's not surprising that you couldn't get a reservation. And the cast member was incorrect, ALL of Le Cellier is not being held back for the CP packages.

And unless they change things this year (which is possible), they were also incorrect in saying you could book a CP package online, because last year you couldn't, they had to be booked by phone only. Fortunately you can check online at 6 AM before the phone lines open (if you want Le Cellier on Christmas Eve I am thinking you really need to be one of the first callers to get through on the 26th because those will be gone fast).

tgropp - just a word of advice - I know some people like to do it, but I would not use DVC Member Services for booking dining or obtaining info on dining. It's hard enough getting a regular dining CM who knows what they are doing sometimes, and DVC MS are far from dining experts. That probably has something to do with the type of incorrect information you are getting.

I will only book dining on-line or by calling the dining line, even though I also can make the toll-free call to DVC MS to do it.

TDC Nala. Thanks for the info on the 190 day booking computer errors. I kinda remember reading something about that.

Vicki C. So true. Some DVC castmembers are not up on the updated info regarding certain things....but I have always found them to be so pleasant and kind.....Wish me luck on the 26'th
