New Candlelight narrators just announced

For those of you who will be missing out on Jim C., I am soooo sorry! :guilty: I hope the replacement is great for you all! :wizard:

We saw Jim C. last year at the CP and he was amazing. Those of you who get to see him now...wow! :wizard:

My family is going to be seeing Haley Joel Osment (sp?) this year. Not sure how he will be......

:rotfl: i'm going the week of the 10th-17th any idea who will be there that week?

First Gary can't come, then we miss the ultimate Disney fan, John Stamos. You guys can have Jim whats-his-name back, as far as we're concerned. (Yes, we know who he is...just don't happen to be big fans.) Well, at least we know the music will be great! Okay, okay I'm done pouting now.

Here is what I just got from the official WDW website...it still shows 12/22 - 27 as OPEN and 12/7 - 9 as Jim Caviezel, but maybe they just haven't updated it yet.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...daysAroundTheWorldCandlelightSpecialEventPage

Showtimes: 5 p.m., 6:45 p.m. & 8:15pm

2005 Schedule of Narrators:

Rita Moreno Nov 25-27
Phil Donahue Nov 28-30
Haley Joel Osment Dec 1-3
Cicely Tyson Dec 4-6
Jim Caviezel Dec 7-9
Eartha Kitt Dec 10-12
Lou Diamond Phillips Dec 13-15
Harry Hamlin Dec 16-18
Marlee Matlin Dec 19-21
OPEN Dec 22-27
Steven Curtis Chapman Dec 28-30

I'm thrilled with the possibility of Jim Caviezel as the narrator for Christmas Eve...we had planned to go then when Gary Sinise was listed, then when it swithched to OPEN, we waffled a while, but decided to go with it anyway and if it was someone we weren't interested in seeing, we'd just give the CP seats to some others waiting in line. But, we were hoping for someone really big...DS kept thinking Robin Williams...lol We're also going on 12/19 to see Marlee Matlin, who I really wanted to see since I'm a sign language interpreter.

Thanks the OP for the info...I'm gonna double check with a call to WDW dining tomorrow.

I spoke with them earlier this evening. It's true. Jim is now doing Christmas and this Jaci Velasquez is doing 7-9. I listen to Contemporary Christian Music all the time and I can't say I've heard of this person. Maybe is a heard a song, I'd recognize it. I'm really sad that it won't be Jim. I rearranged our entire itinerary so we'd be at Epcot when he was there. Now I've got ADRs all over the place. Guess I'll keep what I've got and hope for the best. Dining said I can cancel and get my $$ back up to 48 hours in advance.

Jim C. was going to be the narrator two days after we had planned to leave but we were thinking of staying over a little longer so we could see him. We just hadn't thought we'd have to stay 2-3 weeks longer...not that I'd mind that one bit! :teeth:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

MFH (John Stamos) is gonna be there???!!!

Ugh, guess I have to schedule ANOTHER trip to WDW, LOL.

N.E.D.

Hey you guys...quit yer griping...at least you don't have Phil Donahue!!!! I had Heather Headly last year and she was incredible. Somehow I don't think Phil is going to meet my expectations.

I'd take Phil Donahue over Jackie Velasquez (...who?...) :confused3

I could have sworn the "message" would be more important than who delivers it.

Of course, but don't pretend that people don't prefer one person over another. :rolleyes1

I agree. I wouldn't cancel over a change; I was going to CP this year no matter what but I might move things around if I got stuck with a narrator I didn't like like Phil....which I did move things around when narrators were announced and now I'll see Haley.

But I wouldn't cancel this year because of the narrator. I want to see the show.

It's all about expectations. When you've done all your planning and things change, sometimes it is hard to accept. I was hemming and hawing to begin with but now I'm coming to accept the change. Since I've found out from a great friend that Jaci Velasquez is a wonderful singer, it makes accepting the change a little easier.

I will be at the 6:45 performance on December 9th. Anyone else coming on that date?

We'll be there that night, but I wasn't planning on going to the CP. Can someone tell me more about it? Is this something that young children would sit for?

So true....but some people deliver the message much better than others. There are some narrators that are just terrific...and you know, sometimes you can be surprised. I was with David Ogden Stiers. I was so 'blah' about hearing him, but changed my tune. He got such obvious joy out of being there that it made for a wonderful experience.
I guess I was just kidding as far as liking who your narrator is. Yes, the message is much more important.

but when Art Garfunkel delivered the Christmas Story Message...I did not believe he had faith in what he was reading. :confused3

I did believe the many others I have heard through the years! :goodvibes

Sorry I am not up on who is who....
Who is Jim Caviezel ?
Also... who is Steven Curtis Chapman ?

Just curious. :confused3

I won't be there at all during that time, but I wanted to :cheer2: for those of you who get to see Stamos do the show!

Jim Caviezal played Jesus in Mel Gibson's "The Passion" and Steven Curtis Chapman is a Christian singer who by the way is very good!
Hope that helps!

I am excited about the change. We are going on the 9th for the 6:45 performance. I can't wait to go now! I didn't care much for the other speaker. I agree with another poster; I am going for the message and experience, not the speaker.
