New Camera/Video Camera Suggestions?

I would like to buy a camera for our upcoming trip that also shoots video in HD. Would like something that shoots good night shots and has a good stability feature. And, of course, takes great pics and video!

Any suggestions?

Nikon D7000 is my vote.
24fps 1080p hd video
16mp sensor
It is also very good in low light situations

What about size and weight? Do you want to change lenses? Budget? Keep it on auto or set things yourself?

Something fairly small (I'm trying to downsize the amount we carry into parks this year! )

No, I don't want to change lenses, I would probably keep the settings on auto, but DH might set things himself, so that could be an option.

I'd like to stay at 500.00 or preferably less.
