We live in Iowa. I haven't seen a commerical in a long time. They are all ads for some politician. I saw the ad last night with the young girl. I really liked it because I really like the compassionate side of our president. He really honestly felt for the people who lost someone on that day. He was in there in the middle of it comforting people. To me that really shows that he cares about the American people.

There is another commerical on where a mother talks about her son who was killed in Iraq. She acts like President Bush put the gun to her son's head. Our military is voluntary. So John Kerry's campaign has no problem blaming President Bush for all of these deaths. But, when the opposing side wants to show the compassion of the president it is wrong? I don't understand that.

Faith Healer???? I didn't see it that way. I wonder though what the message that Michael J. Fox is trying to get across when he says that John Kerry needs to be in office so people can be cured of such diseases as his. In the commercial he's in he talks about how much John Kerry supports stem cell research and that they need to do it now and with John Kerry in office it will be done.

The only thing that the commercial with the young girl is showing is that President Bush is compassionate. Nowhere in the ad is an invitation to line-up to be touched by the president to solve all that ails.

I guess I didn't take it to mean that she was exploiting herself or her father exploiting her for fame. I took it that what the president did for her meant a lot and she really wanted to let the world know. Yeah, maybe it was used in a campaign. But, I think that if someone had done something that meant a lot to you and you knew that person was in a position where they needed to look good for the public, you would want to support them. Even if it was something as simple as a person being elected to president of the PTA. We'd share the "goodness" about that person.
