new "boys" character meal at MGM

Having 2 boys we never had a need to go to the Princess Breakfast but now with my one DS being 13 and my DH I'm sure they wouldn't mind being fawned over by a Princess but my DS age 5 will love a Buzz Breakfast

I'll probably get flamed from all the parents of girls, but here it goes anyway.

Just like some boys like the "Princess" character meals many girls will also enjoy the "Boys" Toy Story Character meal.

Those of us with only boys are thrilled because it seems Disney caters very heavily towards girls & princesses.

In defense of those of us who have boys, how many girls clothes or accessories feature Buzz, Woody or Sarge? How many boys clothing or accessories feature princesses? This is why I think it is described as a boys meal.

I am not trying to start a debate, but for Disney to cater more towards boys would be awesome. just my .02

No flames from me but I am the mother of a little princess, prince and "prince wannabe". My oldest DD is all Princess and we've done a few princess meals for her which DS (3 and 3 1/2 at the time) tollerated fine. My youngest DD is almost more boy than her brother. At those meals (11 months and nearly 2) she wouldn't even look up for a single photo. She just turned 3 so on our last trip the only character meal we did was CP which all 3 kids loved. My oldest and even DS did see a few princesses inthe parks but youngest wouldn't go near them. It is true that not many girls clothes feature Buzz, Woody or Sarge so I have to shop in the boys department for my little tom boy. I don't understand why more clothes/shoes/accessories cannot be more gender nuetral. I had to buy my DD a pair of "boys" Pooh sneakers that are very boyish as she'd have nothing to do with the pink on the "girls" Pooh sneakers. I would think there would be a market for just Pooh sneakers. Not that she minds that they are boyish. I cannot be the only one that has a girl who is not at all into the princesses. In fact I do have a friend who's DD is more into Nemo and Arostocats than Princesses but at least she will wear pink or purple.

Well, I have a princess and a prince. We have gone to CRT three times for breakfast and we all are really looking forward to the new breakfast option at MGM.

We're planning our first trip to DW for next March and I've been trying to decide on which character meal we'd do. I think my boys would really enjoy this one! So I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for more info. Thanks!

Just a little "FYI" for everyone subscribed to this thread - I started an update thread about this meal titled "MGM Character Meal Update Thread". I will be trying to post daily about my success (or lack of) with the opening of ADR's for this. If/when I am successful I will change the title to say "CALL NOW"! :teeth: Let's hope that happens soon!

I agree with you! There is a LOT of princess stuff around. They need more "boy" things. My ds5 will love this breakfast! Last time we did Donald's breakfastasaurus, which he really enjoyed.
